NAACP passes resolution blasting Tea Party 'racism'

So you equate Trent Lott making a short sighted comment to an old friend the equivalent of lynch mobs. Strom Thrumond was every bit as reformed if not more so than Robert Byrd. The new black panther party is very much the same as the dixiecrat party. Until both sides stop it nothing will change. The solution is not to foster resentments of whites and try to make them pay for past evils by visiting evils on them. The solution is a level playing field where all parties are held to the same standard.

That's fucking funny, because the Tea Party Express site lists him as Spokesperson.

For that particular sub-group, yes.
Once again, the tea party movement has neither a central authority nor an official spokesman.

But, didn't slick Willie recently characterize Byrd's involvement with the klan as "youthful indiscretions?"

He did worse than that the implication was that what it took to get elected and that made it okay. By that standard what is not okay? It certainly explains most of Clintons political career. I grew up with him being governor and he truly will say or do anything as long as it advances his personal agenda and quest for more money and power. That is what most politicians in both parties do now. It is time for something different.

no?

The 2010 midterms will offer Tea Party activists their first chance to elect their preferred candidates to national office. But once those candidates get to Washington, there might already be a "Tea Party Caucus" waiting to greet them.

the story at CNN continues..

B
achmann writes: "I would like to register the House Tea Party Caucus as a Congressional Member Organization for the 111th Congress. The House Tea Party Caucus will serve as an informal group of Members dedicated to promote Americans' call for fiscal responsibility, adherence to the Constitution and limited government."

In her letter, Bachmann named herself as chair of the caucus.

so theres your champion and leader... as for the regional chapters? of course there are leaders... and we have been seeing them speak in this thread for almost 100 posts now, through pictures, deeds, quotes, and actions provided through verified sources.

what they are saying is very very ugly and very very racist. to say that they are not the only racists is not enough. They are unwilling to confront their own members and for the sake of the republican party they had better start.

Reid has pulled ahead in Nevada now by seven points and has the momentuum to keep pulling ahead further.

the NAACP never backed down. He was told roundly far and wide that he had acted innapropriately and was misrepresenting the NAACP by saying they called the entire organization racist, which we all know, they did not. the NAACp did not criticize the group, they criticized its leadership for tolerating hate within its ranks.

.

Since you haven't read the post, here it is.

Oh, and your statement about taxes is entirely disingenuous. Obama and the dems are expected to allow the Bush tax cuts to expire, which will result in a tax increase.

As for the tea party people, they are well aware of who will bear the burden of the current spending spree - which is why they are upset.

A personal note from Mark Williams:

At the start of my interview on MSNBC this morning I was informed by the anchor that Ben Jealous, author of the NAACP anti-tea party resolution has offered something of an olive branch and wants to open discussions with tea partiers regarding dialing down the unproductive shots going back and forth.

Your parsing of words is worthy of slick Willie at his best.

As for me, I have neither a champion nor leader. There is, as far as I can tell, no up and coming candidate who can repair the damage being inflicted on this country by obamco. It will probably take a second American Revolution to accomplish that.

and with that you have become a joke and I am putting you on ignore.

I do not abide talk of insurection. My ancestors were part of the whole REAL tea party and our family blood was spilled to give this freedom. You are a radical and you are an insurectionist.

disgusting and unnaceptable

bye bye

As long as they exist, racism will thrive. These groups have power and money just like the all white groups did prior to the civil rights movement.

You continue to ignore the fact that those groups came into being because African Americans were systematically discriminated against and excluded from systems whites enjoyed.

I don't know how sick and twisted you have to be to try to equate anti-racist groups with racist groups.

UPDATE: CNN reports that Mark Williams has been ousted as Spokesman for the "tea party." I think this was the necessary move. After all, if the tea party isn't racist, then it should be demonstrated in their "leadership" …

Tea Party Federation kicks out Williams over blog post
By CNN.com | July 18, 2010

The National Tea Party Federation, an organization that represents the Tea Party political movement around the country, has expelled conservative commentator Mark Williams and his Tea Party Express because of an inflammatory blog post he wrote, federation spokesman David Webb said Sunday.

There is, as far as I can tell, no up and coming candidate who can repair the damage being inflicted on this country by obamco. It will probably take a second American Revolution to accomplish that.

We have a revolution every election cycle. Your side lost.

The Tea Party people do not have a central authority - they are simply a loosely organized group of people. No one person officially 'speaks' for the tea party movement.

Then Williams just got his ass kicked out of the federation by a non-existent authority.

I hate to break it to you but I have several ancestors who fought in the American Revolution and one who fought and bled. It's well documented.

Clearly, you haven't a clue.

Tea Party Federation kicks out Williams over blog post
By CNN.com | July 18, 2010

ha

so there is a central authority...it is freedom works of course, who have a great deal of corporate supporters and do not want this bad press.

SO that is tantamount to an admission of guilt on their part. Interesting what they will try next.

remember, they were polling at a 50 percent unfavorable rating in america BEFORE this stuff happened.

they are getting run out of town at this point, and probably because they are forgetting that they answer to the guys that finance their cause.

thanks for posting this!!!!

extraordinary!

I am neither sick nor twisted. I am sick of the bullshit. Maybe we need dump a bunch of the racist leadership from both sides on a deserted island where the only way they can survive is to work together. Leave them a year or so and then see if they change their tune. If we don't get past black this and white that we are never going to have time to focus on the very real economic crisis we are in. We have in a sense been dumped into a situation where if we don't start working together our survival is in jeopardy.

When a group focuses on race whether to help or hurt it is not anti-racist. These groups get power by keeping the races divided.

Which sides would that be? The pro-racism side and the anti-racism side?

this idea that the white people of america are in need of protection from harm racially is ludicrous. they hold the majority of the power and wealth of the nation.

What in the NAACP's mission or objectives is racist?

* To remove all barriers of racial discrimination through democratic processes

* To seek enactment and enforcement of federal, state, and local laws securing civil rights
