Mets Lets Go 2015
Watching a Mets game for 9 innings is painful enough these days but 14 was five hours of torture
Jon Niese was not terrible but not as good as he has been, allowing 3 runs on 6 hits and a walk, striking out 6, in 5 innings. All three runs he gave up were on solo homers. I am concerned about Jonathans release point and arm angle which is causing his pitchers to go flat. If he does not correct that we could be in worse trouble than we already are. Warthan are you listing?
Bobby Parnell allowed no runs in his one inning but it was a scary inning that he just got himself out of and of course that’s important as well, very Santana like.
Then OMG who returned from the dead but Aaron Heilman back to torture us again but this time as the opposing pitcher. How come as a Met he never pitched as well as last night throwing two almost perfect innings with three strike outs. I was never that impressed by his fastball and it seems to have gotten worse but he has developed one heck of a changeup, where was that when he played for us.
Oliver Perez managed an inning and a third of scoreless ball, and luck not talent got him that. his command was barely ok but his cutter? did it even reach 85 MPH? Then you could see it in manuals eyes as he though I better get him outta there and Nieve finally relived him. I remember when Ollie came out I yelled “NO, NO, Nieve Nieve! Um, Manual, please to explain why Perez was used instead of Nieve. You choose to use your very worst pitcher instead of Nieve Did you notice that the Braves and Phillies had already lost (I did) and we had a shot at picking up some ground? Perez instead of Nieve? Dude please.
Speaking of Manual I dono if you guys heard Bobby O in the post game rip Manual saying his consistent re-ordering of the batting lineup throughout the season has contributed to the Mets offensive slump, Ojeda then went on to say that he thought Manuel demonstrated a counterproductive lack of confidence in his players. Bobby continued saying "So far everything that Jerry's done isn't working you need only to look at the record for proof of that and that Jerry has lost confidence in his players.
Generally speaking I always thought Bobby O was a hack and overly opinionated, but as wrong as it may have been to say those things publically who can argue that it need to be said. Like I said I am by no means a Bobby O fan, I even had a chance to meet him in Brooklyn once and passed, I think for the most part he is full of hot air, but not last night.
The Mets are looking to trade Jeff Francoeur, don’t be surprised if it happens in LA I would prefer to get rid of Bay but it may be time for one of them to go, Angel Pagan is having too good of a season to be removed from the lineup and needs to play everyday.
Good news from Buffalo the Mets and Buffalo Bisons have announced a two-year extension of their player development partnership through 2012. That is huge; you guys know how I feel about the Bisons who continue to develop players who are making outstanding contributions at the major-league level.
Next up Dodgers with Takahashi on the mound and may God have mercy on us all.

you tempted fate sending Ollie Perez back out there another inning....he did the job getting the Mets out of trouble in the 12th,and I know only K-Rod was left as a relief option...but you should have declared victory while you could and gotten Ollie out of there to open the 13th....it was so deflating seeing Loney's liner heading for the seats I couldn't watch anymore.
