That is certainly true, but the direct attacks on the Constitution are new. Yes, actions like McConnell barring Obama's SCOTUS nominee from even being considered was a clear violation of the Constitution, but it wasn't as overt as the actions now being seen in the nation.

And, even though Trump will be followed by others just as depraved, it doesn't mean protesting the transgressions is a bad thing. It can be the basis for Congress pushing some kind of laws, or even an amendment, to isolate the Attorney General, the Director of Homeland Security, the Director of the FBI, and the Secretary of Defense from doing political acts as we are now seeing.

If that doesn't stop, we will see an out-and-out civil war, as we will not simply sit and watch political persecutions be carried out under the banner of the State.

I disagree. The two parties have been attacking the Constitution for decades. Trump has just stopped pretending to care and no longer hides it.


As for the No Kings protestors, am talking about signs specifically calling out Trump, but ignore the same when Democrats do it. I see the signs of outrage about kids in cages. They disappeared when Biden was in office, but they brought them out as soon as Trump came back. Biden also had kids in cages. Why did the kids not matter then?

I can't defend the signs against kids in cages, since I'm not personally opposed, but let's not limit it to migrant spawn. ;)

Definitely. Neither party actually respects the highest law of the land, but we've now reached a point where some people seem to be proud of despising it.
 
I'm in Las Vegas this week. There's one scheduled at the courthouse downtown at 11am PDT. I'll try to go.

There's another planned on the Strip at New York New York. I don't think I"lol catch that.

Any other Americans going?

Even in the cities in Texas where Abbott is calling out the National Guard or other cities where TrumpCo. is attempting to install a permanent federal Gestapo force to ensure that his coup will not be challenged.
 
I had planned to go. However, the weather forecast, at the moment, is for some very threatening thunderstorms in the afternoon. So I may not. But I will if that changes.
 
I will not be able to attend as I have to work. My niece is getting married next weekend, so took that time off. I am wondering with the Head of the Charles Reggata going on at the same time, if the number of people attending the Kings rallies will increase because of the event.

I'm guessing there's probably one down in Denver... but nope won't be going. Have no interest in protests / potential riots / things that could turn into violent confrontations between cops (or feds) and protest group.

I certainly wouldn't be hiding in the basement or a bathroom like they say you should do....
