On-Topic Obama In 1998: "I Actually Believe In Redistribution"

here is what I know about redistribution of wealth in 2008, and what the world thought of your dear leader....

In my opinion ANY Obama tape that features his views while @ Harvard, some other University or as an early Political figure doesn’t help The Romney campaign. This is not 2008, this is the 2012 election. Obama is the President and he is @ the end of his 1st term. All of his accomplishments and failures are right in front of our faces. He was a Liberal through College right into Politics. There is nothing new to learn about his feelings on the Rich and the Poor. The SAME thing was done to Dubya when Liberal Hackers brought up his College grades and information about his issues with alcoholism. Frankly nobody cared because none of us needed to be convinced that he was an idiot Drunkard. I voted against Dubya TWICE for other reasons.

The Republicans and their hired Hackers need some serious Meat on Obama for the Public to judge him differently. If you can prove over the next 48 days that he’s secretly Gay, Bisexual or had an affair on Flotus then you’ve got something to work with.

Jack Springer & Jackoroe will probably vote against Obama because back in 2008 they never felt then Senator Obama was ready or capable of governing our Country, not because of old videos that give them information about Obama they already know…

These 15 & 25 year old vids that show him being interviewed by local media in Chicago is simply not enough for anybody to care.

Since our resident anti Obama folks bring up things from college years & past elections, allow me to remind them of the "entitled" young man who bullied a classmate for suspected gay tendencies. Brigham Young forbid that he put dye in his hair!! Had any of our resident Romneyites been in boarding school with Mitt the Twit, they no doubt would have ended up with a few black eyes, too.

Bullies, like leopards, don't usually change their spots. Yesterday, the suspected gay student. Today, the lgbt community, women, minorities, the poor, the older person. All just red meat for the Romney/Ryan "Bully them" pulpit

aye let me tell ye a tale of two jacks and the panic that overtook the heart they share, the day the ship of their beloved captain Romney sank.

I didn't vote for Obama because I knew very little of him and really still don't.

I've recently been reading some of his book -- Dream From My Father -- and find what he says very revealing. He's not the kind of guy that I want to be President of the US. I was amazed at some of the racist remarks he made in the book and wonder why no one brought up any of those sound bites from his book in the 2008 election.

I know that McCain ran a very "quiet" campaign afraid to point out flaws in his opponent.

I just want the best man for the job -- if you read my posts, you'll know that I'm not the biggest fan of Romney either. I think we have horrible choices in 2012 -- a year when we in America need our best.

Romney has given no details on how he would make the economy recover at a faster pace than Obama's policies have done. He's supposedly an expert on the details...but apparently thinks the electorate doesn't need to hear them.

Pretty much every one of his "viewpoints" can't quite be considered "strong" because they've changed at least once (and in many cases, multiple times) between 1994 and 2012, depending on what group he was pandering to at the time.

"I respect and will protect a woman's right to choose."
"I never really called myself pro-choice."

"I believe that since Roe v. Wade has been the law for 20 years we should sustain and support it."
"Roe v. Wade has gone too far."

"I will work and fight for stem cell research."
"In the end, I became persuaded that the stem-cell debate was grounded in a false premise."

"It was not my desire to go off and serve in Vietnam."
"I longed in many respects to actually be in Vietnam and be representing our country there."

"Those... paying taxes and not taking government benefits should begin a process toward application for citizenship."
"Amnesty only led to more people coming into the country."

"Based on the number"I'm a strong believer in stating your position and not wavering."s of American Muslims... I cannot see that a cabinet position would be justified."
"A person should not be elected because of his faith nor should he be rejected because of his faith."

"I'm not in favor of privatizing Social Security or making cuts."
"Social Security's the easiest and that's because you can give people a personal account."

"I would like to have campaign spending limits."
"The American people should be free to advocate for their candidates and their positions without burdensome limitations."

"I supported the assault weapon ban."
"I don't support any gun control legislation."

"I believe the tax on capital gains should be zero."
"It's a tax cut for fat cats."

"These carbon emission limits will provide real and immediate progress."
"Republicans should never abandon pro-growth conservative principles in an effort to embrace the ideas of Al Gore."

"I don't line up with the NRA."
"I'm a member of the [NRA]."

"If Massachusetts succeeds in implementing it, then that will be a model for the nation."
"I like mandates. The mandates work."
"I think it's unconstitutional on the 10th Amendment front."

"I'm a strong believer in stating your position and not wavering."
"I changed my position."

He was around and paying attention in the Postwar years when the American economy was growing like topsy and rock-and-rolling, even more so during the 1960's, when the tax tables were MUCH more progressive. The tax rates on the rich under Eisenhower were too high; now they are too low. They were at a good balance fifty or 45 years ago!

Senator Sanders actually has a strong sense of EMPATHY, which is a trait completely absent from all politics nowadays - and a trait that is entirely vilified and ridiculed by the Republican Party, who would strongly prefer that all the bums, faggots, freeloaders, handicapped, etc. would JUST PLEASE go off somewhere and fucking die.

Conservatives have been crying "socialism" to Obama ever since he started campaigning for his first term over 4 years ago. So this 14 year old video is not really going to make their message heard; it's just the usual stuff from them. It means nothing since they don't know the real definition of socialism. Whereas in the Romney video, it was a real eye opener to at least 47% of the population, many of which such as elderly are part of Romney's base.

When the Republicans say they don't believe in redistribution, it is a fucking lie.

They are out to steal and confiscate ALL the wealth of the bottom 250 million Americans, and the redistribution upward in recent years has already been one of the most massive in the history of the world.

^ Actually, Obama did say something like that. I remember that quote surfacing a long time ago here in Ill-Noise...I want to say that it may have even been during his final campaign in Congress, BEFORE his 2008 Presidential campaign.

The Republicans just like THEIR brand of redistribution better, because it moves the whole pot of gold to them.

Their trickle down economics is really trickle up economics.

I must quote the lovely and talented Whoopie Goldberg here: "Trickle down economics" is the same as a "golden shower".

I know. But what he was saying was very Reagan.

For the Obama haters round these parts let me just say since I already proved that the red states are the welfare recipients and benefit from the txes collected in the wealth prosperous blue states then it begs the question: Why are republicans so ignorant they 'think' they are against redistribution? The only way they live in the 20th century much less the 21st is by blue taxpayer money being redistributed to their sagging and failing infrastructures.

Hmmm -- Ten year plans -- where have we heard that before?

Face it buddy you live in a socialist sate of Missouri which is too poor to sustain it's own modern lifestyle and must rely upon government handouts from blue states.
