On-Topic Obama In 1998: "I Actually Believe In Redistribution"

:rotflmao:

"Ive been on food stamps and welfare. Anyone help me out? No."

Except the rest of us who were having our "wealth redistributed" to pay for those food stamps and welfare.

Are we seriously now living in a country where at any given time as many as 50.1% of voting age Americans are actual fuctards?

And don't even get me started on the "Hollywood Elite" in this country.

Ahh Yes.

Craig Nelson.

The poster child for stupid.

This just goes to show that your understanding of socialism is not founded by any real evidence. Your understanding of socialism is influenced by what certain politicians say in this country.

The US does not have the highest median household income, and adjusted for living costs, it certainly is far from it. Capitalism does not work for all. If it worked for all you wouldn't have millions uninsured as far as health care, and people being left out in the cold.
You keep forgetting. The reason we have millions left our in the cold is our insane policy of unlimited immigration. With 14 million unemployed and 23 underemployed, we are bringing in millions and millions and millions more. 4 million Legal under Obama, and he the gives green cards to 3 million illegals and no one knows how many illegals we have. It is absolute stupidity to think that massive immigration of poor people does not affect the number of poor that we have and can take care of.

Find it funny that certain frequent posters on here freak out at the idea of their riches being redistributed.
Fear not, you spend so much unproductive time on here you'll be on the receiving end anyway.

Personally I don't have a problem with their being a bit of a leveling mechanism in an economy. Some entities end up being drains on an economy by skimming and storing profit that could be otherwise be spent more productively elsewhere in the same economy. Banks, patent trolls and overcharging utilities spring to mind.

Money is power, and power should be tempered in a true democracy.

Golly gee, Benny - do you have any proof to back this up?

BTW - When I say proof, I don't mean some poorly-written blog written by some GOP lunatic that makes daily pilgrimages to Breitbart's grave and sacrifices animals in his honor.

Mitt Romney and his cronies believe in redistribution. They take from the poor and working class and they give it to themselves.

Works both ways kids.

It's impossible to "earn" hundreds of millions of dollars. You get that much money by taking it from others.

Government IS the process of redistribution. That is all it ever does. It takes cash from all of us, and it uses it to better all of us, in ways we decide as a group through congress.

This is just the financial application of democracy. It's not socialism.

IF taxes are socialist and redistribution of wealth is socialsim, then King George was a socialist, not a monarch, and the Founders of america were anarchists, not capitalists.

Oliver Wendell Holmes
I like to pay taxes. It is purchasing civilization.

Franklin D. Roosevelt
Taxes, after all, are dues that we pay for the privileges of membership in an organized society.

Thomas Jefferson
The purse of the people is the real seat of sensibility. Let it be drawn upon largely, and they will then listen to truths which could not excite them through any other organ.

Plato
When there is an income tax, the just man will pay more and the unjust less on the same amount of income.

Bill Gates has given an estimated 30 billion dollars to charity so far in his quest to give all his money away to others before he dies. There are very few who rise to the top in Earnings.

How they earn it and what they do with it is what is revealing to each of them as individuals.

Being successful is not bad. Being VERY successful is every american's dream. Giving back to the system that made you wealthier than a crowned head of Europe is just part of the process of participating in the culture of American democracy and Capitalism.

I think there are a few others, Oprah, to name one, that have been extremely generous and used their financial influence for the betterment of the nation.

Redistribution through taxation is in essence THE primary point of taxation. It always has been, and it always will be.

If I was Oprah-rich, I'd LOVE to pay more taxes and give to good causes. I'd feel much better knowing that my money is actually helping people, as opposed to just sitting in an offshore Cayman account.

Warren Buffet is another -- he's given like $15 billion to the Gates Foundation.

I just wish I could get hold of one of them -- my conservation project is on hold until the debt can be paid off, and then hire a geological engineer and pay the fees to proceed.

Lottery winnings aren't "earnings". They're prizes.

Which are taxed as "income earned" and if you're part of the 47% are NOT allowed as a tax deduction on those earnings in the same manner as if your whole source of a 1/4 BILLION DOLLAR income was based upon interest earned from one of your offshore banking accounts.

You clearly wouldn't know the best caddies to hire, or the best weekend places to rent in the Hamptons, much less get a supper invite in a small 3,000 Square foot penthouse overlooking Central Park.

Is that true for lotteries?

So you're still fucked, even as a middle class Lottery Winner.

According to the 1%/2%, even if you've won a lottery amount that equals Mitt Romeny's NET WORTH (Say the Mega Million Jackpot), you're still a fucking loser/mooch according the 2012 "right wing sound machine."

Which might have sold a few albums back in the 90's, but if they did are probably living off of Social Security, Medicaid, and voting Republican this election.

Lemme go back and get some Clinton dirt on Monica or however that is.... make sure we have something really relevant to discuss....

well, if you're looking for dirt, there's PLENTY in clinton's pants.... oh, sorry ... he's a dem isn't he?

but then it's not like there's no filthy rebubs either ... they're all politicians, after all ... sleazy

but unfortunately that is what politics has become on all sides ... and the crap circulating here is a perfect example
