They were not trying to close their accounts, They were trying to cancel their loans. 2 totally different things. Closing your account is fine and legal. Trying to cancel a loan is not.

All I see these days is a lot of propaganda coming from both sides and it's making it difficult to see whats really going on.

You have edited videos making protesters look like idiots and edited videos making them look like poor innocent victims.


It's this kind of stuff thats making me sick and tired of the whole situation.


Plus I think they have the wrong idea. The rich elitists are sitting in their ivory towers laughing at the protestors. They should be Occupying their congressmans lawn not Wall Street.

The corporations own the congress. The Occupy Wall Street are protesting at the true seat of power in this country. Why do you think the Republicans and corporations are so disturbed by the demonstrations?

The article (apparently written by the arrestee) doesn’t mention “police state.” Do you think the President is manipulating the law to exercise his political power? I do not support police brutality but I do not endorse public behavior that induces a violent reaction. That guy was doing what he was doing to get under their skin and they held their own. Okay the first video starts up with a cop running across the scene to punch a dude. DO any of you naively think that the first part of whatever that fucking idiot did was not cut out? I mean really? If that is the case why isnt there reems of video proving that cops are showing up to their day of work, sucking down their coffee and then flying off the handle to beat a random passerby that has HIV. Oh yeah they look for HIV positive guys to punch, not just hemophiliacs or cancer victims but HIV positive guys. Must punch them now.......

The second video is pretty inexcusable. Although the cop does get of the bike and not pay attention to the guy under his bike because he knows that is no threat. I also notice there is zero footage of BEFORE because what the crowd was doing before obviously caused a group of officers to swarm into the area. Typically they do that when people are standing around doing nothing.... WTF ever.




Speeding IS not DIFFERENT THAN TRESPASS. They are both misdemeanors (depending on the speed). And they are both simple infractions that are exceedingly easy to prove.

So last time you close an account you brought fifty of your friends and posted look outs and had video footage outside? Really? And since you are all knowing what exactly occurred in the bank? Why did the protestors feel it justified to publish the video from the civil argument at a Citi but none have come forward in the "dumb twat got arrested" case? Have you seen any of these protest? At least HALF the people are running video. So why is it they dont show how benign they were inside the citi where the arrest happened? Why is it they dont publish that video? Perhaps it is a bit incriminating?

The white shirts arrested her because she wouldn't submit -- no other reason.

She had a permit. She was in compliance with the permit. The white shirts didn't care -- they have the guns and the handcuffs, so they don't care.

I'd love to be a Jedi master and be at things like that -- I'd use some 'Jedi mind tricks' and turn those cops back into Americans.

Sorry all the vidoes I see are edited.. they show after the fact so we don't know exatcly why they are being arrested or why they are yelling at people.


It's convenient propaganda being used by both sides in order to sway people and it's sickening.

For example the video of the "woman being arrested for trying to close her account" turned out to be a woman occupying the bank lobby and trying to cancel her student loans. But we only saw AFTER the cops arrived so we didn't get the whole story until the inside video was released.

Well apparently someone has daddy issues. It aint me.

On the loan, if you can demonstrate that you can pay it back go apply for one. I havent been turned down recently so if you have a definable business plan you will probably get plenty. You know who leases out the first floor of my new office? A corporate bank. I see the folks coming in by the handfuls to get business loans. I have gotten to know the guy running the place and ALL of the people coming in are not their to apply. That is accomplished thru lawyers. Nope they are there to sign agreements. So if you have a viable method to repay you can easily obtain a loan these days. Credit was constricted and ridiculous limits were trimmed in the revolving credit market but loans are occurring.

That program for what it accomplished is one of the most successful government plans ever instituted. The alternative where ALL credit would have come to a halt would have destroyed much more than what we have now. The shitty trade off is that it causes a huge and long recession.

Since you are too lazy to apparently research it yourself I will restate that the Irish government BOUGHT all of the toxic debt to prevent collpase and now will lose all of that instead of the corporations. That is equal to directly 1/3 of their entire GDP. Gone forever. The indirect resultant losses will be difficult to fully assess but the economic destruction is fairly evident. Now the major European economies are looking to do a tarp like bailout for both Greece AND Ireland to allow the banks enough time to write down and properly dispose of all that debt. They are doing so in order to prevent the collapse of the Euro based economy. Both you and the one tenth of one percent dont seem to understand that.

A friend of my mom subscribes to Dick Morris' newsletter. I wish I could get her to listen to Stewart, because there's more sense in that episode than in the last entire month of Morris.

Morris' take on OWS is that they're all communists allied with Nazis and other anti-Americans dedicated to nothing but tearing things down and wreaking havoc on the cities they're defiling with their presence. No one with a functioning brain could believe that.
