Occupy Wall Street

Ok, jackoroe let me clarify my stance.
Like has been said above, she is entitled to being believed. Let's see an arrest, a conviction and we can put this to rest.

Mr. White Eagle....I love your sense of justice under the law.

I have always felt that innocent until proven guilty was a

load of bleeding heart liberals BULLSHIT.

Your direct Arrest/Convict approach is so much the cleaner,

simpler and cost effective... that is your stance as quoted EH?

(oh dear, what will mother say..me.busted agreeing with Jack Springer...and a mod.)

Here's a link to occupy Oakland , a live streaming.
Longshoremen have closed the port according to the link.

Wow! Angela Davis ... all the old communists are coming out of hiding.

One of the reasons people don't like these protests is because they are seeing people like Angela Davis (Communist Party candidate for VP 2 times), Bill Ayers (SDS leader, Weathermen Underground leader, bomber, communist), and others who did violent things to America.

People are still aware of what communism has done to the world and killed hundreds of millions of people and still keeps millions under harsh rule in countries like China, North Korea, and Cuba.

You have the right to protest in the United States and you still have the right to vote.

Can you exercise these same freedoms, including participating in a forum like this in those countries? (Ever seen a Jubber from North Korea?)

I am not sorry to say I love the United States. We have problems - but banging drums, shitting in doorways, blocking streets, causing unrelated businesses in the protest areas to lose business or go out of business is not the right way.

If you want to protest -- move to Washington, DC -- sit outside the White House and the Capitol and demand that a new tax code be written that does away with all the special deals and is more fair.

So far that does not seem to be what you are interested in -- to me and others it appears that you are being manipulated by people like George Soros, his many groups, and the unions.

Until it's the only way. Why do you think people do this? Boredom? No genius, because they are NOT being heard any other way.

The American Revolution started how? With people sitting outside Buckingham Palace demanding a tax code be written?

Gosh damn it JACK SPRINGER.

You stop throwing sea salt on the

poor slugs of anarchy. It is not

pleasant to watch them fizzle from

being salted with reality. George

will have crawl through more of his

slime to refresh their rhetoric.

Totally alien thought and probably
considered a highjack to this silly
thread..but does any one of you
anarchy in the streeters know
who George Soros and Friends are?

sorry, offtopic: the :soapbox: is yours.

Are you saying that conditions are the same or worse for people on the continent than they were in 1776?

We have no king, we have representative government, we may be taxed unfairly but, there is a system in place to change that -- it's called voting -- we get to do it ever two years.

Hello genius Parliament, they weren't out there shouting "...no taxation without representation..." for nothing.

They didn't feel that the English system of REPRESENTATIONAL government represented them.

Mad King George was not an absolute monarch.

You like to dodge points don't you.

YOU: Protesters are wrong because that's not the way to be heard.

Me: They wouldn't be protesting if they thought they were being heard through the normal channels.

Actually she’s NOT entitled to be believed, she’s entitled to make an accusation, which the state will then investigate as decide if she is to be believed.

Don't like that, sucks to be you (that would be a general sucks to be you). That's the way the legal system works.

If she has charges to make – let’s see them.

I know of what you speak. I was just trying to get jackoroe off by back.
I don't know if I can put a mod on ignore, so I will make do.
In these OWS "rapes" I want to see who she is, who the raper is, an indictment, a conviction and prison sentence.
My bet is she will be a Tea Party wacktivists™ or a cop in plain clothes trying to make a scene so the OWS will shut down

To keep disgruntled posters quiet for a while I thought I would just say protect the rapee. Altho I DO think the rapee is a plant.

Ya know? This is one of your classic posts. Let me see a cite that Angela Davis is a communist. Give me some info about Bill Ayers. I don't believe a fucking word you post.

Oh yeah, I forgot.

You know BP, white men are rapists, white men rape women all the damn time, why would you ever agree with a white man.

:rotflmao:

I found a book that actually said pretty much that, while camping this summer.

It made a nice little addition to the campfire.

We have no king, we have representative government, we may be taxed unfairly but, there is a system in place to change that -- it's called voting -- we get to do it ever two years.

And just how's that been working out?

And just how's that been working out?

Sometimes I think that the most destructive people in our society are not the demagogues, but the people who astonishingly seem to think that the institutions and laws created by men somehow magically transcend our faults and become holy.

Bitch!.................

Perhaps he would prefer some young nubile commuists.

I myself would prefer to see some strappin', sixpac'd, anarchists with nice tight, round asses come out of hiding.

I wonder if I can get some of them to sexually assault me at a protest if I pretend to be a Republican.

I looked back through the few pages and all I saw were allegations that wrong doing was occurring a vehement denial and claims that WE WERE JUST HATING the wall street occupy movement. We are just blinded. Whatever you might say.

Then when it became apparent that crimes were being committed. the Move was to deflect to Herman Cain.

Anything but admit that possibly among the thousands of people involved that there might exist bad elements. That of course was decried to be my characterization of the entire group which of course is patently not true.

Just amazing that NO ONE will type the words that they were incorrect.

WTF?

I just ran back through the last three pages, and I can't find anything resembling hate in any of BP's posts. Yours, on the other hand, ooze with insult and teem with derogatory remarks.

I don't understand you lately, at all -- you seem to have become spiteful and bitter.

Then buddy I have no idea whose post you have been reading for the last 5 years because I haven't changed very much at all. If anything I have become much more compassionate towards different ideas and viewpoints. Now if spiteful and bitter is what you ascribe to those who do not walk in lock step with your viewpoint then over there is the ignore button. please use it.

On the other hand if you think you actually have a point that isnt based simply on disagreeing with you then feel free to Privately post to me instances where I am spiteful and bitter so I might learn from my errant ways. This thread certainly is not the place to discuss me.

I responded to BP characterization of me in a previous post because he brought discussion of other posters into the discussion not because it belongs here or because you have a right to become his cheerleader.

In the city of the raiders......

As I posted earlier per the unions:

Yet they appear to have succeeded in shutting down the port and the police which appeared at first to desire to protect certain things like the bay bridge decided to fall back.

They also spawned other protest marches of smaller scale throughout.

I know I will get told I am spiteful and hateful and all but isn't it funny to you that they shut it down for the third shift? at 7pm? I have been around ports most of my adult life and they work non stop so i get that but the load is mostly born during the day. Will Occupy now maintain the strike to secure the port? That wasnt what they stated at first but does anyone know?

They didn't shut down the port at 7pm because all of the occupiers were sleeping in did they? (ok that was spiteful i guess (spiteful...meh) but funny to me)

SO I admit it the police scurried off and did not prevent anything so there was no story there. The reports are that besides closing businesses the strike is very peaceful so really no reason to involve the police.

SO what's next?

God knows I hope no body is raped or killed at the strike because we will have five more pages of libs defending rape and us whackos saying that it aint right...

you can't make this shit up.

Just for anyone who hasn't seen the news: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/world-us-canada-15568057

Where did this come from? You start going well, then you come up with trash lies like this.

](*,)

I suspect now that Robinson may be right, that this is just the beginning of expressing outrage. Now that the movement has something of a martyr, and now that one branch has quite peacefully shut down a major port for a while, some who were wondering if there was any point to joining in are going to step up.

Now is when some voices are needed to bring coherency, by convincing the great numbers that a few goals picked and stuck with are better than a long list that loses by being so long.

Here's my list:

The reason you'll get different answers is it's not a simple problem. There are several things that need to be done to fix the situation:

1. A constitutional amendment defining the word "person" for political rights and activities as a living, breathing citizen or legal resident, and decreeing that only persons so defined have rights as far as politics. That would end all contributions by corporations, churches, unions, clubs, fraternities, associations, etc. etc., and would further end all lobbying efforts by the same sorts of entities.

2. Restoration and strengthening of the Glass-Steagall Act.

3. A law stating that if a corporation is judged too big to fail, in order to receive taxpayer assistance it must submit to be broken up into no fewer pieces than half the number of states.

4. A law establishing the taxation of bundled campaign contributions and requiring that campaign contributions left over when a politician retires shall go to at least three charities of the individual's last opponent's choice.

Those I see as the bare minimum. But to keep the Two-Faced Whore from playing the game in new ways, that power structure has to be busted, which I would do like this:

5. Constitutional amendment requiring private sector work, NOT for large corporations, before running for public office, the p.s. work to be at least as many years as the term of the office for which the person is running.

6. Constitutional amendment allowing (or maybe requiring) states to choose Representatives to the House by proportional vote, allowing any party with 1% of the population in the state to participate, regardless of state ballot access laws.

7. Constitutional amendment specifying that any time the budget deficit is greater than 3% of GDP for more than two years in succession, no member of Congress up for vote that year may run for re-election.

8. Constitutional amendment requiring that any time the approval rating of Congress falls below 15%, Congress shall be dissolved and remain empty until new elections are held.

And one I think would help, but isn't really essential:

9. Law establishing the tax rate at 100% for any income more than one thousand times the minimum wage.

Plus one that's important but possibly not essential:

10. Define capital gains and all other income from any sort of investments as ordinary income, taxed along with salaries and wages.

For our government to do it's rightful job of mediating the needs of the people against the tyranny of capitalism.

We need to define what rights humans should have that shouldn't be profited from.

The right to be healthy and the right to be educated.

Equal pay for equal work. (this still hasn't happened?!)

Some things should be out of bounds. No one is going to begrudge someone trying to make a decent profit off of their enterprises. But some of the things we've seen done in the name of a dollar is the very reason why these folks are out protesting.

Downsizing to cover upper managements bonuses. Outsourcing jobs to save from having to pay living wages to American employees because you know the work could be done for pennies a day by what is essentially slave labor.
Having two part time employees rather than one full time employee because the cost of benefits is more expensive than the minimum wage.

And that's just how the corporations have been shitting on their employees. This doesn't even really touch the fact that our government is currently sitting squarely in their pockets. Minimum wage not being raised with inflation/cost of living? Hello!

But you can't tell someone how to run their business, it's their business!

Bullshit. Meanwhile the people at the very fucking bottom are being made into social lepers for being born into this world (drug testing for welfare).

Trust but verify... :rotflmao:

Where the fuck was the verification of the corporations who we already know are going to fuck us over for a nickel?

If they were never trustworthy, why the fuck are we keeping them around?
