Occupy Wall Street

I looked back through the few pages and all I saw were allegations that wrong doing was occurring a vehement denial and claims that WE WERE JUST HATING the wall street occupy movement. We are just blinded. Whatever you might say.

Then when it became apparent that crimes were being committed. the Move was to deflect to Herman Cain.

Anything but admit that possibly among the thousands of people involved that there might exist bad elements. That of course was decried to be my characterization of the entire group which of course is patently not true.

Just amazing that NO ONE will type the words that they were incorrect.

This is essentially the difference between people who see the world through partisan eyes and people who see the world for the way it is. You know, reality?

I mean idiotic, baseless claims that people who claim to have been raped are somehow plants of the Tea Party or police.

I sincerely hope that no member of their family is ever the victim of such a crime. But how do you think these very people would feel if their loved ones were raped and then accused of lying about it? They would be righteously indignant, and I would be in total agreement with them. Why is it so difficult to acknowledge the human dignity of these people who went to an event with good intentions, and were violated in the worst way that you can?

Nobody is saying everybody at these events are rapists, but it's clearly an issue. Stop being ideologues for a moment and try being human beings.

Are you saying that conditions are the same or worse for people on the continent than they were in 1776?

We have no king, we have representative government, we may be taxed unfairly but, there is a system in place to change that -- it's called voting -- we get to do it ever two years.

We have dozens of Republicans controlled state legislatures and governors working overtime to pass laws intended to depress voting by traditionally democratic voters. Keeps them too busy to worry about passing legislation that might create jobs.

Ya know? This is one of your classic posts. Let me see a cite that Angela Davis is a communist. Give me some info about Bill Ayers. I don't believe a fucking word you post.

You're a strange person not to have never heard of Google or other search engines. I hope you enjoy this new tool.

Again, there's this pesky thing that the forefathers built into the Constitution called voting.

Use it!

And now that the Obama economy has created millions of new unemployed people, being at work will not be one of their excuses for not voting, right?

Jack

go ahead and say that you are not a partisan.

Consider it a dare;)

now there is a difference between believing that the right of assembly, free speech and ending taxation without representation are valid issues and endorsing rape.

Here lies the problem with how you guys have tried thus far to paint the Occupiers in a bad light.

You have called political wolf so many times that you are not trusted on the topic as a critic of the movement as a non partisan. Thats just saying what is happening. I admire the tenacity that you defend your positions with, but....

the whole pee and poo thing? it was below where you need to be as an american.

What needs to happen? The police need to do their job... protect and serve the people... without consideration for their politics.

The police are dropping the ball by attacking these people verbally and physically, instead of getting in there and doing law enforcement without encroaching on civil rights.

IF the police are incapable of talking to the public and treat them as the enemy, then they have created a problem. They have removed the law enforcers from the inner workings of the protests.

If Women are getting raped, then it is a failure of the police to deal with the protesters.

You do NOT take rights away if the task before you is too hard. If you cannot protect and serve the people, then quit and get out of the way so that people who actually need jobs and are desperate for work can have them, who actually understand what these people have been enduring for a decade.

This rape thing is todays subterfuge. Its todays way of blaming the people for not being protected BY the police that have already been attacked BY the police.

Its ludicrous and its PARTISAN

^It's all contingent on what instructions the goofy politicians are giving the police. If they are to do their jobs effectively, they need to be free to wander into these camps as they may. The OWS gang has decided they want to do their own security and the politicians have instructed the police to simply maintain the perimeter.

Essentially, what's happened is areas of lawlessness have been established. And yes, that includes people shitting and pissing all over the very areas they are sleeping in.

Doesn't it strike you as even remotely odd that NYC has such a major hard on for people using salt or smoking a cigarette outside in a public park, but that we should accept behavior that is known to cause outbreaks of cholera and other diseases without question? In fact, we should ridicule people who condemn these acts?

Do the protestors have a right to be safe? Of course they do, same as you and I. But the fact is, both the protestors and the politicians don't want the cops in these camps keeping people safe. So, we get what we've got. Be careful what you ask for in life, you may get it.

The cops need to join the protest, not inhibit it. This evolution of the american police force into a paramilitary force within our society is not good.

Europe is watching oakland on the bbc and I think its evening time. Our streets are full of kids throwing rocks and police teargassing them.

The first and best thing that can be done is to improve the relationship between the protesters and the police, so that the police can be there to protect and serve them as their employees.

And you have to take off the glasses and stop looking at them as the enemy to do that.

You know, I don't think anyone in here isn't aware that what you object to is the protest itself. No more, no less. You'd get along swimmingly with My Great Aunt Irene who's made it a point to hate dirty hippies since the sixties. Of course she's 89.

You might try going with that and see where it gets you.

Then you wouldn't have to resort to Cholera.

I mean Cholera? Really?

What's next, fleas and the black death?

I'll agree to a point. I saw a piece the other night about PD's getting these helicopter like drones to watch us. They can also be used as offensive weapons, like the other drones. Not cool.

Oakland is a disaster that's been caused by a mayor that seems to change her mind every day. On one hand giving city employees the day off to participate in a protest and then cancelling the cops days off to possibly confront other city employees. Seriously, WTF?

I've suggested previously, that there needs to be a sit down and that the protestors need to be advised of the ground rules. They don't get to make them, sorry. Once they understand what is to be allowed and what is not, then we can all go down then road together, no problem.

You may not be aware of it, but NYC fines people who don't pickup dog shit $250. Why? Because it is a health hazard. Similarly, they have developed sewer systems to remove human waste for these same reasons. Most normal people recognize that human waste left lying about contributes to disease.

Your aunt Irene is a wise woman. She didn't make it to 89 because she's stupid.

then send in the meter maids and write them tickets for the mess they create.

It will pay for the cleanup.

Teargas and arrests are not the answer, and the poo and pee fest that the GOP is going on is par for the course.

The nation is falling apart, as the house of reps votes on afirming the national motto and minting commemorative coins, saying it has no time to take up a jobs bill.

and we are worried about a few kids shitting in the park?

honestly, its no wonder the fucking nation has become a laughing stock of the world.

Nah, I know about them, I just wanted to see if you know how to post links.

We got 2 drones shipped to our Naval Air Station, to protect us from the southerners. I hope they remembered to take out the bombs.

Damn, Keith Richards got me again!

you always get the pirates code...

No one else ever mentions it, or notices that its there.

Looks like you got your wish - anarchy in Oakland.

It's really hard to take a person like you very serious who believes that rape is OK. I'd suggest some counseling -- lots of it.

Occupy is following the pattern of 60's radicals -- protest, organize a "council" (since there is no organization without leaders), the leaders will be highly educated sons and daughters of wealthy people, move to violence (Oakland, rape, stealing, vandalism has already happened), attack a government institution (that's coming -- wonder what it will be and when), go underground.

However, there is one new ingredient to this mix -- a US President who believes in "the cause".

I'm not sure how it will turn out.

Beside. The. Point. Period. You just don't like the protesters, for whatever reason. Why is it that right wingers who are all jingoistic flag and country, teary eyed defenders of the constitution (or at least the second amendment - abandon it with abhorrence the moment ir rears it's head? Protest is our earliest tradition after all.

Or is it that revolutionary protests of our sainted Forefathers (who would be shitting in the park with the hippies) is too lofty and holy to be equated with the protests of later generations in response to the most recent conservative fuck you handed out to us.

We are a nation founded by protesters and revolutionaries who shit wherever they damn well pleased!!! (grin)

My Great Aunt is a Jurassic bigot and homophobe who's still alive because she's to mean to die and give us Faggots and Negroes the satisfaction.

Well, there's plenty to dislike, isn't there? They were busy setting fires, breaking windows and vandalizing property in Oakland last night, weren't they. Not exactly a peaceful group like we were led to believe, are they?

In fact, some of those protesting are beginning to recognize that OWS isn't what they bargained for.

"We go from having a peaceful movement to now just chaos," Oakland protester Monique Agnew, 40, said early Thursday.
