Occupy Wall Street

PJ O'Rourke tries to ridicule OWS. He doesn't do a very good job.

That guy in the green tie is an idiot. Who is he anyway.

PJ O'Rourke. He used to write for National Lampoon magazine in the 70's and early 80's. He was a genius satirist then but became an abrasive, rich, know-it-all later in life.

Interesting, long video from Atlanta's occupy group.

I found it on the Drudge Report.

Just found it extremely strange -- chanting -- I've seen that in other vids about the OWS thing.

The expressions on John Lewis' face throughout the video are priceless.

The clapping idea had me laughing out of my chair.

I'm gonna have to find a source for B&J icecream. I don't think we get it down here. Must go to store today!
This is a riot, now don't quote me, that's just a saying down here. Ole Nancy and Ben and Jerry know what's going on.

Ben & Jerry's joins Nancy Pelosi in SUPPORT of Wall Street protesters... but Herman Cain brands them 'anti-American'

By Daily Mail Reporter

Last updated at 1:20 PM on 10th October 2011

Occupy Wall Street has its first corporate backing after Ben & Jerry’s today announced it is getting behind the protesters - slamming the ‘immoral’ inequality between classes in the U.S.

The Vermont-based ice-cream company followed House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi speaking out in support of the growing movement as the political debate around the protests intensified.

Ms Pelosi said 'people are angry' as two Republican presidential candidates accused the protesters of 'class warfare' and New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg said they are 'trying to destroy jobs'.

He looks like someone turned him into a newt --

and he didn't get totally better.

The only insightful thing I remember P.J. O'Rourke saying is the following:

The Democrats are the party that says government will make you smarter, taller, richer, and remove the crabgrass on your lawn. The Republicans are the party that says government doesn't work and then they get elected and prove it.

WTF is going on in Atlanta #251

I feel sorry for Rep. Lewis.

OWS Philly: Wave your freak flag high

I can't tell if it's a Soviet flag or a soviet flag -- the one belonging to a defunct nation and the other to a movement. The difference is the star above the hammer and sickle.

If it's the former, I'd laugh at the bearer; if it's the latter, I'd want to give a history lesson.

Either way -- so what?

Reckon I've stood on the sidelines and I'm glad the OWS people have stayed away from Copley Square where I work because they would arrested so quickly. I will admit I like the idea of the movement but I really haven't formed a full opinion on it yet.

Personally, I feel the worst thing that could happen is the Democrats trying to "own" the OWS movement. Both parties are at fault in the charade (any denial of that fact is a pure falsehood) and it is basically the Democrats shooting themselves in the foot as usual. Just like when the Republicans took the Tea Party foolishly, the Democrats would be wise to let this run on its own.

Here are a couple of pics of the offensive Confederate flag at Tea (KKK) Party mobs.

They're fondly remembering the days of slavery.

Ah yes, the stench of racism and stupidity is in the air. It's a foul smell.

It's odd that people make excuses for and defend the 1%. The 99% are protesting the greed and corruption. Why would anyone do that unless you're one of the 1%? Defending your Masters doesn't guarantee you rewards.

This county was borne out of a revolution. The republicans and their supports appear to forget that. Nowadays republicans demand conformity, subservience and no questions asked. That's non-American.

Where were the comments when the tea baggers were disrupting town hall meetings?

Oh yeah, they were getting their orders from republican politicians and their owners, big businesses. Disrupt the meetings and remember to shout loudly. Stomp on women protesters.

Those fighters of freedom who protest Wall Street greed have nothing on the mobs of tea bagging thugs.

Considering that the sort of opening act of the American Revolution was to attack the property of a giant corporation in cahoots with the Crown, most of the Tea Party are 'way off base.

The Ron Paul ones showing up at OWS rallies are the ones who get it.
