More fantasy-like thinking. Citizens peacefully protesting ought to enjoy the right to be peacefully arrested in an act of CIVIL disobedience. We complain when we're violently arrested for peacefully protesting. And most of us only have contempt for people who complain about violent reprisal in response to their own violent actions.

True. However, NY AG Eric Schneiderman and Del AG Beau Biden have both refused to sign onto the 50 state settlement. Between NY and Delaware, there would be jurisdiction to sue every major bank, but the more who refuse to sign on to the settlement, the better. I believe AG Conway of Kentucky has also refused. All are Democrats, by the way. I'm sure the Republican AGs are only too happy to sign on to a settlement letting the banks off easy.

I saw a poll the other day that demonstrated that more than 60% of the OWS participant in NYC actually HAVE jobs.

If you want to be a dick, I could dig up that link for you. :lol:

The press and the media seem to be ignoring that a lot of the "occupy" protesters or UNDER EMPLOYED.

While still having huge student loans that they're going to have to pay off.

Apparently they have a lot of spare time between their part time jobs waiting tables, and talking to "Employment Advisers" at the local "benefits office."

I was hoping the students would rain a barrage of rocks and bottles down on that fucking cop who pepper sprayed the students. He should be fired.

What are you going to do? Attack police officers. Many went to cover the victims and help the victims. When you attack the police officers more force by them will be used and then people will say the police were in the right.

Defies the imagination, doesn't it?

Yet I've noticed there are some people who take great pleasure in such images of the police's violent reprisal.

It makes me wonder, were the police in fact trying to provoke a violent response from the demonstrators? It's the sort of practice that stirs up violent urges. I'm glad the crowd resisted them, and just kept yelling.

In a civilized country, the cop who did that spraying would get twenty years hard time, and every cop who was close enough to have stopped him but didn't -- like, within fifty feet -- should be fined two months' pay for dereliction of duty.

And the cop in charge on the scene should be suspended without pay for a minimum of one week for each officer being disciplined.
