Occupy Wall Street

Thanks for the tip :)

I know - it's Marathon Man ..... In real life

Getting it pulled after thanksgiving

Today they shot me up cleaned and gave me antibiotics to kill the infection

Will be living on codeine this weekend

This shit works :)

My fantasy RPG players decided the weekend I was game master while on codeine was the best game time ever.

Codeine, coffee, and donuts -- with TheraFlu on top to keep me going.

Whether these useful idiots volunteer or get drafted to get locked up is of no issue.
No Jackoroe, you made it an issue by misrepresenting a plain fact. You wrote that the "OWS crowd designates people as arrestables." You leveled the accusation and failed to back it up with your wacko couch-level propaganda. Instead of trying to escape your own posted words with this last bit^ maybe you could just admit you're not on the money with your smear? All you have to say is that you mis-spoke...

In either event, it's your choice and a conscious decision. Don't complain when you get gassed or pepper sprayed when you engage in behavior knowing full well the consequences.

More fantasy-like thinking. Citizens peacefully protesting ought to enjoy the right to be peacefully arrested in an act of CIVIL disobedience. We complain when we're violently arrested for peacefully protesting. And most of us only have contempt for people who complain about violent reprisal in response to their own violent actions.

I was talking about this with some friends, but what's Stage 2 of Occupy Wall Street?

they've raised awareness; you can't turn on the news without hearing about them... so what's next?

Things like this, for one thing:

Dear friend:

Kamala Harris, California's Attorney General, needs to hear from you NOW. Last month she walked out of the "50-state settlement" talks and refused to give the Big Banks a "get out of jail free" card for their crimes against homeowners. According to the New York Times, she's now facing enormous pressure to rejoin the talks.

We need to show Kamala Harris that we'll have her back if she stays on offense against the Big Banks and makes them pay for committing fraud against millions of homeowners. Our friends from ACCE, the California Nurses Assocation, and SEIU 721 have signed onto a letter that clearly explains the key elements of any fair settlement. Below is an excerpt from that letter. Can you co-sign and share with 5 friends?

Let's show AG Harris we'll fight side-by-side with her.

--Rick

If California stands up to the banks, it will be a (admittedly small) game-changer.

True. However, NY AG Eric Schneiderman and Del AG Beau Biden have both refused to sign onto the 50 state settlement. Between NY and Delaware, there would be jurisdiction to sue every major bank, but the more who refuse to sign on to the settlement, the better. I believe AG Conway of Kentucky has also refused. All are Democrats, by the way. I'm sure the Republican AGs are only too happy to sign on to a settlement letting the banks off easy.

just a random thought .....

if you're "occupying" and your out of work

i guess you're not looking for a job?

what are the odds of getting work when you're busy "occupying"

maybe not so random

What's sexy about "occupying" an unemployment, or bread line at the local food bank? :p

not sure i connected there

my point is protest is in lieu of looking for work

not sure that's a responsible decision

I saw a poll the other day that demonstrated that more than 60% of the OWS participant in NYC actually HAVE jobs.

If you want to be a dick, I could dig up that link for you.

The press and the media seem to be ignoring that a lot of the "occupy" protesters or UNDER EMPLOYED.

While still having huge student loans that they're going to have to pay off.

Apparently they have a lot of spare time between their part time jobs waiting tables, and talking to "Employment Advisers" at the local "benefits office."

;)

And do you want to know what's really effed up about that video?

The number of people who just stood there and watched it happen.

What was that video?

Was it even real?

How could that many people, along with witnesses subject themselves to that?

I was hoping the students would rain a barrage of rocks and bottles down on that fucking cop who pepper sprayed the students. He should be fired.

What are you going to do? Attack police officers. Many went to cover the victims and help the victims. When you attack the police officers more force by them will be used and then people will say the police were in the right.

Defies the imagination, doesn't it?

Yet I've noticed there are some people who take great pleasure in such images of the police's violent reprisal.

It makes me wonder, were the police in fact trying to provoke a violent response from the demonstrators? It's the sort of practice that stirs up violent urges. I'm glad the crowd resisted them, and just kept yelling.

In a civilized country, the cop who did that spraying would get twenty years hard time, and every cop who was close enough to have stopped him but didn't -- like, within fifty feet -- should be fined two months' pay for dereliction of duty.

And the cop in charge on the scene should be suspended without pay for a minimum of one week for each officer being disciplined.
