The Oscars

I usually don't care, but this year I am pulling for Lin-Manuel Miranda for best song for Moana. If he wins he will be the newest EGOT winner. That would make him one of the few to have won an Emmy, Grammy, Oscar and a Tony. He is very talented. He deserves to win.

Re: The Oscars

I still need to see the movie, it's on the list. Roomie loves it, I expect it'll be pretty good.

After 25 years Beauty and the Beast lost it's top spot for my favorite Disney movie.

I am thinking it may be a three way tie though. The Little Mermaid has grown on me a lot.

Oooooh, I quite liked The Little Mermaid, one of the best movies Disney ever made. Have I shared a link discussing Ariel as a gothic villain before?

Now, I liked Belle but I was never that fond of the beast, always seemed a bit Stockholme-Syndrom-ey to me.

If you have I didn't see it.

Belle was my first crush. The reason I like it so much though is I see myself as Beast.

Re: The Oscars

until they acknowledge black hollywood it's just another schmooze fest to me

Re: The Oscars

Always seems like an advertisement to me.

When I can watch anything from old Soviet films to low-budget horror candy to genuine art flicks, why bother with the Oscars?

Because money?

Nah.

truer words were ne'er spoken. walking dead > the oscars

i resisted the show forever until i was in jail and overruled by the majority and had to watch it, been hooked ever since. i need to start at ground zero, i entered around whatever season that fat girl took a soda from the zombie and got shot in the head with an arrow.

Re: The Oscars

Holy shit! What a fuck up.

Great for Moonlight though.
