Officially voting for John McCain.

wow, this was uncall for....my view: Always be carefull when talking about foreign politics..you are not only talking about a governement, you're talking about people.
take care.
I disagree. I have been to Puerto Rico and I love the place. The people are great. My former neighbors( I just moved back to Montréal) were Puerto Ricans. Puerto Rico is a diverse, thriving place.

But, their government is not as great as the USA or Canada's. They had to fucking close schools a few years ago because they ran out of money. Their recent man in charge is in trouble for fraud.

It is not corrupt. But it is not as good as America's government.

Now you and I both live in Québec. We know very well that many of us vote Bloc québécois, a separatist group. I have always supported Bloc Québécois and I still do and I support Parti Québécois too. That does not mean I hate Canada though. I love Canada.. I just love Québec more. :)

Ive been to Puerto Rico, several times, your talking about it as if its a 3rd World country, its actually an extremely developed beautiful country.

And Aren't You from Canada? why are you even talking??

If you have seen what the last 8 years has done to this country, then you wouldnt support american Politics, because we all know who very well will probably win next election, and thats McCain, So Nothing will Change. And i Should go back to Puerto Rico, because its definatley a better Place to live than the states.
I know it is developed. But I fail to comprehend why you "disagree with American politics" as a whole. And, if you disagree, I fail to understand why you would stay silent and not take part in the political process.

And I am from Québec, and I moved back here literally just about two hours ago! Québec, like Puerto Rico, has many separatists who do not like Canadian Government. I am one of them!

But, I also live in Québec. And, if I lived in Toronto for example, and I hated Canada but loved Québec, then it would make no sense for me to be there. And if I was there but still hated Canadian Government, I would at least take part in the political process so that change could come about.

And many polls show Obama beating McCain. Also, things seem to be getting worse again in Iraq. This will open the doors to Obama winning. Having the attitude that he will not win, so don't even bother is not a working attitude and will not solve anything.

You live in Ohio, a crucial state. I believe that if you want Obama to win, you should vote for him, even if you don't think he will win.

there is a good saying that says "If you don't vote, then shut your damn mouth." !!!!

Like sell pot and shoplift?

Well not JUST that, theres plenty else i have to do on a daily basis...like clean, cook, do the dishes, laundry, the occasional drug fueled rampage, you know, the normal stuff.

i like to live dangerously.

at least I can spell ...

what the fuck is a readneck???

grow the fuck UP......people DO have reasons for their decisions, you know....this is 2008....in all 57 + 1 states!

Lol well English grammar is complicated. Red and Read can be pronounced the same way, but of course when saying "redneck" it should be r-e-d and not the way I spelled. But, understand that English is not my first language.

And secondly, please understand that I was joking. I tried to edit and add that, but of course on this forum after a certain time you can not go back and edit it.

Well, please tell me why you believe he is the "Anti Christ" and give Biblical support behind your derivation. Also, even if you do not like him.. Don't you think you should at least vote for the lesser of the evils?

McCain is a fool and Obama is a newb. But trust me when I say this, no republican is getting in that oval office.

Especially one joined at the hip with Bush.

It's scary how many uneducated and misinformed people will be going to the polls this November.

Not sure if I'll even vote this time. Things are so fucked up now....thank you George W. I want to move to another country such as NZ. I feel that McSame will win and it'll be like Bush's third term.

If you were a reasonable person, the last 8 years would make you want to CHANGE american politcs (like for Obama!?!?!?!)

Im Not anti-government, i just dont support it, i mean, am i Required to support our government?? is it an absolute necessity to Support the biggest bunch of bullshit on earth, and yes i realize i have the power to change it, but then again...i dont...i have more important things to do than go out and vote...

and i can be An activist, god just 5 months ago i stood with some people outside of an abortion clinic for 15 minutes, and they gave me a sign to hold up, i dont remember what it said, but, nontheless i was protesting something or another, now that took a lot in me, cuz it was freezing outside!

Psshhh, Anti government my ass
This sentence reminds me of this:
First they came for the Jews
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Jew.
Then they came for the Communists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a Communist.
Then they came for the trade unionists
and I did not speak out
because I was not a trade unionist.
Then they came for me
and there was no one left
to speak out for me.
Pastor Martin Niemöller

When you say shit like that, stuff like the Holocaust happens.

"Ohhh, I could go protest Hitler and you know stop his evil, but whats the point? I want to go out and party tonight. Hitler won't do anything THAT crazy."

Or just imagine the prequel to George Orwell's 1984. Although you probably had better things to do than read that book.

Just because
I Live in South Carolina(lot of history here)
Dip Snuff
Own a Chevy truck(Not lifted)
Hunt/Fish

Doesn't mean i'm a Rednec...................Wait that does kinda make me out to be a bit of a redneck but yeah dude i'm a wigger/preppy boy

You need some Quebec stereotypes, Mr B.

Right on!!
I live in South Africa. It was barely 20yrs ago that people were dying just so that I, and others could have a right to make a difference.

The ability to make a change is something that mankind has fought for and continues to fight for to this day.

Countless souls have died to ensure that you have a choice. America's recent history on this issue may not be as bloody as that of my own country, but thousands of Americans have died for you LatinoSTAR and for you to then say something like that is beyond terrible.

It would be terrible, if you felt that you couldn't make a difference, or were ignorant of the fact that you could. But the fact that you know, and still feel that you have more important things to do than to stand up and fight for what you believe in, or at the very least go vote.

It's disgusting.

(And yes, I'd also put 1984 on your list of must-reads)

i'm voting for McCain....i don't trust Obama at all...all i see is bad press coming from him....his wife is a bitch who said she was never proud to be American until her husband ran for president....then bitch get the fuck out of our country....and all the people that he knows who endorse him have done nothing but make it worse like his lame ass pastor...hell no to him.....

and the gay thing doesn't matter to me...we'll get our chance when we get our chance...no reason thinking one man is going to make the difference like McCain...the prez doesn't have that kind of power...it eventually comes down to us and what we want as people

^ haha...I can read most of that! :D(!)

I am so happy that my French skills are still somewhat in line.
Lol well my boyfriend wrote that yesterday! He does not speak French and I have been teaching him, so I told him what it was in English and told him to translate it to help him out. He did it pretty well... I mean anyone could understand it. But, he did make some mistakes. I would have wrote it like this..

Pourquoi partez-tu?!!

Either way, both are very good ways to say what I was trying to :)

Ok, here is what I got out of this..

You don't like his wife and personality. So you are not going to vote for him.

That is honestly all I got out of your rhetoric. And I must say, that I am sickened. You should not vote for a candidate because of a few misinterpreted quotes the media gives us.

You know, look at all the little snippets the media has been playing of Obama's pastor, and add them up... It probably does not add up to no more then 20 minutes!

Now, do some math.. How long has Reverend Wright been there? Think, 52 weeks in a year... That is at least 52 hours of sermons. Add to that the countless number of sermons he did not have on Sunday. Multiply that by the number of years he preached. that is hundreds of hours, if not thousands!

Yet all the stupid media can get is a few small snippets? You have to be joking.

And you know, during this time, Obama had two children. Add to that the fact that he was in Springfield serving Illinois Government a lot. Then, add to that the fact that for the last 3 years he has been in DC a lot. Do you honestly think that Obama was in the crowds cheering on, as his Reverend made these comments? Add to that the fact that many are not even bad but the media makes it sound.

And as for Michelle's comment... Get the fuck over it. She explained what she meant numerous times. It was just a bad choice of words. She loves her country though, and anyone can see that. She is a great woman.

Do you support gay marriage? Do you support a woman's choice to have an abortion? Do you support spending billions of dollars on the "war on drugs?" do you support the war in Iraq?

Who do you think will do better in terms of foreign policy?

Who do you think will get us out of Iraq and make situations better there?

Who do think will do more to enhance the rights of persecuted minorities, such as us?

Who do you think will do more to increase the value of the dollar?

Who will do a better job at making our education system better and college tuition less?

Who do you think will do more to fix the Social Security problems?

Who will do more to ensure that schools are safer?

These are questions you should be asking. Not picking character flaws of a person.

I really do find people's reasons for voting for McCain are just hilarious.

It's like saying "I'm going to drink this arsenic because I hate Coke and they bottle tap water... tap water can go fuck itself... I don't care if this arsenic is going to kill me, Tap water is in coke and I hate Coke... they can fucking die... duh!!"

I've yet to hear a "smart" or even "thought out" reason for voting for McCain. Not one. Every reason I've heard is juvenile and bizarre knee-jerk reactions to things made up by Fox News or Rush Limbaugh or based on half a sentence taken out of context intentionally by the conservative media who also sold us the bill of goods about the 'weapons of mass destruction' that everyone seems to have forgotten about."
