Re: Mayo Clinic rerpot: benefits of circumcision far outweigh the risks

I will keep saying it again and again, the only reason American's have such strong opinions on it that they grew up in a world where nearly everyone (77-83%) of men were cut. The rest of the worlds population (the 70% of all men in the world aged 15+) and the women around those men, probably prefer uncut because its what they are use to.

Dozens of governments contribute to WHO and UNAIDS; the US does not advocate circumcision alone.

Re: Mayo Clinic rerpot: benefits of circumcision far outweigh the risks

I wish I had that choice instead of having it forced on me like millions of other men have.

Re: Mayo Clinic rerpot: benefits of circumcision far outweigh the risks

Fixed that for you Matt.

Professor Deja and I already discussed this; introductory phrases are redundant for subjective statements.

You really don't want to have a circumcision in adulthood.

By that logic, if an infant could consent to a circumcision, verbally or otherwise, would they want it done to them?

Dozens of governments contribute to WHO and UNAIDS; the US does not advocate circumcision alone.

They still only support widespread circumcision in some parts of Africa for heterosexual males and only then they do it on cost. Its cheaper to circumcise someone than give them all condoms. There is no universal position on circumcision by any medical organisation.

I am not saying that the US alone advocates it, just that its the place with the most widespread circumcision culture outside of Islamic and Jewish nations, and, probably along with Canada, the only place that has widespread circumcision for reasons beyond religion.
And once again - the UNAIDS and WHO state that it only matters among heterosexual males, not for us queers. Jesus if cutting off the foreskin was it all took to stop HIV spreading the US would never have had a problem in the 80s.

Re: Mayo Clinic rerpot: benefits of circumcision far outweigh the risks

The foreskin is there for a reason.

Circumcision should be a matter of personal choice, left to the male upon reaching an age of majority or in order to correct any severe case of Phimosis, in which case, a partial would suffice in most cases.

I don't know how the Mayo Clinic has its name on this.

Either way, this is your opinion. Just like every post in this thread.

Yes, I'm sure you can find an egyptian doctor who can explain all the benefits of female mutilation too.

Why? I'm genuinely curious. Because while I'm not particularly invested in the cut/uncut discussion, it does make me really uncomfortable to have it done to boys below the age of consent.

Re: Mayo Clinic rerpot: benefits of circumcision far outweigh the risks

To all of the intactivists that say that circumcision nerfs someone's sex life, circumcision never stopped Gene Simmons from nailing 42,000 chicks, or so he claims...

It is said to be very painful during the recovery. Then the head is very sensitive and painful when touched by clothing etc. Eventually, the skin will thicken and become less sensitive. For uncut guys, the head is very sensitive when flaccid--uncomfortable to touch with the fingers or clothing-- but much less so when hard.

Really? Not my experience...

Re: Mayo Clinic rerpot: benefits of circumcision far outweigh the risks

The CDC, AMA, UNAIDS, and WHO all recommend circumcision to combat HIV AIDS.

No need for condoms for you then.
