Not all uncut guys have the long foreskins that you can dock with. Actually very, very few do. The average uncut has the foreskin barely covering the end of the head when soft, and it retracts when hard. So saying cut or uncut does not tell the whole story. Just look at the pics on this site and others, very few have the long foreskin.

I prefer cut.

I'm cut and like it that way---but most of my experience has been with uncut guys and I couldn't care less one way or another unless the foreskin is so tight that it doesn't retract when erect---that looks painful to me.

What is the thing with circumcision in The US ?!

I mean I'm from Europe (France) and guys don't get cut except out of religion points or medical problem, wich in that case is only an option. So I always wondered and I'm asking you guys, why do American guys get cut ?! If it's a matter of hygiene I can't see the point, you should be taught to clean your own parts properly instead of getting rid of the skin... Well I don't want to be judgemental so please light up my mind !!

Only, the thread's author isn't asking about everyone. Pickwick is focusing his inquiry to the popularity of circumcision in 'The US'. Or, why do so many people in 'The US' care about, or concern themselves with, a child's foreskin?

Because the doctors can charge a fee for it. And following the second world war it became a thing that just caught on. And until babies can speak....there's not a lot that can be done except cry.

At this point it is because circumcised fathers tend to think their sons should look the same. It started for alleged health reasons, and, I think at one time it was thought to discourage masturbation.

I want to thank you for a thread about something other than some assholes shooting people.
In the late 1800's it was common thought amongst doctors that masturbation caused epilepsy, clubbed feet, mental retardation and a myriad of other problems.
The solution was circumcision as it would make masturbating hard
It (circumcision) was practiced in other nations as well as in the USA, with the advent of normal (national) health care in advanced nations circumcision was seen as an unnecessary cost and was ended.

In our for profit exploitive system in the USA, the practice continued under the lie that it was for health purposes, pretty interesting when you compare life expectances globally. You would think that snipped men would outlive those with the dread foreskin, alas, this is not the case.
Circumcision became the "thing to do" first because of religious people trying to take the fun out of having a penis, then it was perpetuated for profit.

When our son was born the doctor presented the consent form as a "standard procedure" there was no discussion, it was what was done in the US in the '70's.
At the time I was un-circumcised and felt like a freak as nearly every guy I had ever seen naked(I saw plenty) was cut. I wanted my son to fit in and raised no questions.
I should add that the topic never came up before birth.
