  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

OMG How terrible!

I am thankful that our friend is not running it this year.

Looks like quite big explosions and maybe quite a few dead people

would like to know from folks in the boston area like max and others that they're okay.

Omg this is so horrible :( I hope the injured heals soon.

The BBC is reporting that counter-terrorism police in New York City are tightening up security there in the light of events in Boston. One wonders whether they have reason to expect something.

I surely hope that it is just a freak accident, like a ruptured gas line... It would not diminish the suffering of the injured, but it would not be the beginning of something dramatic, like what happen in NY and Washington at the onset of XXIst century...

Let's not start finger pointing. Nothing is known yet. It just happened minutes ago.

If you were to say that, I'd feel that you were an idiot. Let's concentrate on the poor people caught up in this.

Thats what i meant. You are an idiot for pointing fingers.
And don't edit my post. Now lets concentrate on the facts.

Now the BBC says:

"Boston authorities warn they will cause a controlled explosion in the next few minutes but release no further details."

Hopefully there are no more bombs.

Sadly, it appears there are 2 dead and 22 injured.

The North-Korean reference is, sadly, not too far-fetched... Remember that today is also the Kim-il Sung day in NK (101st anniversary of the "eternal leader"...

NK is so isolated diplomatically and commercially that they have literally nothing to lose in a major conflict, contrary to the major nuclear powers (US, Russia and China, mainly) who have interest almost everywhere in the world. Plus, I think Kim Jung-Un might want to have his own little Marshall Plan, to get handsomely rich like Japan did after WWII...

Before anyone point it out to me, this analysis is WAY premature, since we don't even know if it is terrorism, let alone NK terrorism...
