Petition To Get Olbermann Back On The Air

Why can't you Americans have normal news? Is it so hard to have an anchor read the news for one hour like other anchors in other parts of the world? Blah blah Iran did this, the local dog can dance and now the weather. Is it so hard to have a apolitical sane media outlet in America?

What is so wrong with every news network in America? I don't care what FOX say or did or how holy all the other non-FOX networks are.

Why can't you guys just enjoy the nine o clock news? Why must you people turn anchors into celebrities (though most don't really start out as anchors)?

I think all of you have absolutely no idea what you are doing.

Back in the good old days of news journalism, the news division of a network didn't really answer to anyone and wasn't responsible for being revenue generating. It was it's own thing. That's when you had extremely well respected news broadcasts from the likes of CBS etc. Fast forward 15 years and some genius had the idea that news should be monetized. From that one decision spawned the revolting trend in fear based news broadcasting - keeping audiences scared to hold their interests. "Is your drinking water killing your family? Tune in next Monday for our chilling special report". Plus news started answering to advertisers, even eschewing stories that made their advertisers potentially look bad.

News is broken in the united states. There's no clear path back to sensibility. Thank god for massive increases in social and peer generated news content. There's at least truth in numbers and there won't be any advertorial slant.

That is Thomas Roberts, and yes he is openly gay! He was let go from Head Line news for some asinine reason. Good to see him back on the air...

Just had an e-mail that Keith Olbermann will be back on the air Tuesday night.

Come on Bob...Are you surprised?....November is Network-ratings SWEEPS months...MSNBC got about as much play as they could get out of the story last week....Now KO will give us one of his long ass Monologues Tuesday night.................

MSNBC will not fire they're Prime-Time Attack-Dog anymore than FOX NEWS would fire "the Drunk"............

They would have no credibility with their employees if they give in.

A corporate owned media has no credibility from the beginning.

Originally, major networks were required to provide public news as compensation of the government allowing them to use public airwaves. It was not until 20/20 that they realized that they could make money doing it. When that happened, responsible news reporting had a slow/quick death....depending on who's opinion.

The ideal thing to do would be if networks would separate their news programs as totally independent entities from the rest of the corporation and do it without any advertising. But the chances of that happening are pretty much nil.

Don't know if you guys have heard, Olbermann will be back on his show Tuesday.

News is broken in the united states.
^ And that's the bottom line.

When all the major networks, newspapers and magazines are owned by only three different major corporations, what chance is there to get an honest viewpoint from anyone.

Forget objectivity, it's all about selling product and keeping the public scared and confused.

"Something in your refrigerator is killing your children !!" We'll tell you what that is at 11PM.

Information, entertainment, advertising and the creation of slanted opinions are hopelessly blurred in America. Probably forever.

I don't think I'll sign it. He went after Michael Scheuer, former chief of the CIA Bin Laden Unit, misrepresenting what he said, apparently can't stand the idea that Obama is weak on defense.
