Everything about that family is staged and managed. It's a pretty flawless operation if the Royal in question knows what he/she is doing like Liz did. That doesn't seem to have been passed down. Alas, the story about abolitionist royalty is going to be eaten up with a silver spoon, despite the fact that the Crown is directly responsible for the Atlantic slave trade and massively profited off of it - while running about humming Rule Britannia as they invaded a bunch of other people, stealing their resources, repressing their populations. The Sovereign Grant is still paying out millions to people with no actual purpose for the sole reason they were born descendants of all of that.

I think that desperation may come out of the fact that so much of the abuse of Meghan in the tabloid press was obviously racially coded, and The Firm has now basically gotten caught feeding that abusive tabloid coverage whenever they needed to distract attention from Randy Andy or someone else.
