If [STRIKE]republicans[/STRIKE] fascists do not take over the House and Senate, they will not have the voting power to enact the kind of vengeance, or the regressive laws, or the retribution they want to inflict on those who upheld democracy and the rule of law. It can all be kept somewhat in check, at least for 2 years. Otherwise, it will signal a green light for vicious retaliation throughout government and the country, and possibly the escalation of open violence on any who oppose them.

Democrats could not just keep the House but gain seats if they'd do two things: increase Border Patrol funding and resources (call it a "high tech wall"), and stop trying to eviscerate the Second Amendment.

You're saying that Democrats won't increase funding for the Border Patrol because they're racist?

And I have no clue what the second one is supposed to be saying. Is it supposed to be a reference to January 6? If so, it's lame, because no one stockpiled any weapons to use against the U.S. Some people showed up with weapons but they were acting (in their view) on behalf of their country, not against it.

Just to put a visual to this...

This is a couple of pictures of the Ukrainian resettlement center in Tijuana where Ukrainians were waiting for their expedited entrance visas into the US.

Outside the Ukrainian center, there was a food court set up with supplies and hot meals under the palm trees:

This is the Tijuana migrant center where the people from Haiti and Central America are waiting for their interview:

Unfortunately, I couldn't find a good picture of the ICE interview center where they conducted the paper bag tests to see who got admitted.

Speaking Spanish is kind of requirement for the Southern border if you work for Border Patrol (USBP). USBP is a law enforcement branch of the CBP. USBP doesn't make policy. They just enforce it. Most of them wouldn't pass the brown paper bag test either.

The people who are in those camps south of the border are there because of Trump's "remain in Mexico" policy that requires asylum seekers to stay in Mexico until ICE/DOJ/HHS/DOS gets around to processing them. If you're brown, you will wait months in those camps.

The American public who is donating truck loads of clothes and food and who flying down to the border to assist Ukrainian "refugees" while they get their expedited visas to enter the US are another matter. They are from churches, mostly.

Would those mostly white, affluent church groups also take those truckloads of clothes and food to that other shelter? So far, they haven't. It's been Catholic Charities and Hispanic churches (most of whom fail the paper bag test) who have been bearing the brunt of relief in the camps where the brown and black people are.

These are creations of the failed border policies that both Republican and Democratic Administrations have allowed to deteriorate because it's much easier to use brown people as a political issue than it is to actual fix them problem and create legal pathways for needed workers to come to the US legally.

Why fix the border when you can "tour" it?
