^In the first place, the president does not have the authority to change or nullify a bill passed by Congress by executive order, though I've noticed that people seem to pay scant attention to points of law these days. That being said, I have to begrudgingly acknowledge that allowing TikTok continue to operate is the right decision, but for the wrong reason.

I may not have the whole picture here. I've never been on TikTok, so I haven't followed this very much. But TikTok was banned due to bipartisan legislation passed by congress, signed into law by the president, and upheld by the Supreme Court. Right? Is there something built into this law that gives the president any legal authority to alter the provisions of the law by executive order? Fine, if there is. But if not, what gives Trump the right to do anything? Or is this Trump's first test case on his ability to override the rule of law by kingly fiat? Because if that's true, we've already set the precedent on the first day that the rule of law no longer applies in the country. And that's a very, very bad precedent to set.
