They are gonna keep it up til there IS a revolution! I have been hearing this ever since President Obama got elected. I noticed in my surfing yesterday there are still some militias out there and they are the ones that will start. The TV show Revolution does not help. Note: I think the TV show is named Revolution.:eek:

29 percent say they believe they'll have to act "in order to protect our liberties" in the next few years

A new survey of voters by Fairleigh Dickinson University’s PublicMind finds that 29 percent agree with the statement, “In the next few years, an armed revolution might be necessary in order to protect our liberties” – including 18 percent of Democrats, 27 percent of Independents and 44 percent of Republicans.

As I remember OWS wanted armed resurrection as per the Cloward and Piven plan for destroying the government. In all honesty I don't think this will turn out the way those pushing for it would want. There are a lot of people in this country that are sick and tired of being sick and tired.

Some may start it but will find a quick end to it as well.
 
It just proves there are a lot of stupid people out there.
 
I can foresee a very strong movement aggressively challenging the institution of Congress. People are getting fed up, even if they can't enumerate specific reasons. I don't see it as a revolution, but the general populace is feeling very alienated.
 
Well now, armed revolution, an interesting concept. Not my cup of tea. Heck, I don't even own a gun but do have several collector and culinary type knives lying about.

I can't really debunk any ideas concerning armed revolutionaries stating their cases. Granted we've a lot of work ahead of us but I do know that I have always, and still do, consider the greatness in the United States of America's Constitution as being the peoples' ability to change each and every word should they need or even desire to do so through unarmed means.

We must not forget freedom of speech and that the United States Declaration of Independence does state the following citizen obligations--


We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable rights, that among these are life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The unfortunate weakness in your statement is that amendments to the Constitution originate in Congress or at an Article V Convention of the States. I do not look to either for enlightened revision or repudiation of what they have previously made law.

The "people," as such, are effectively neutered.

You make a valid point palbert. As such, therein lies a concern, wherein I guess some factions within our society could & do cite & argue armed means as a viable option :soapbox: .

The French seem to be able to assemble and protest without mounting a "peoples' militia." True, they're a little messy and, such as the case of marriage equality shows, do not always get their way.

Should that be the model we look to?

We need Parliamentary-style reform, multi-partied with variable platforms and increased representation in the House of Representatives, (the "reapportionment" every 10 years and the arbitrary fixed number of 435 is a travesty set up by small-minded rural states scared of the "city folk" read: the post-industrial urban elite and scores of immigrants in the 1920's...IT's a TRAVESTY!!) and we should even increase the amount of US senators from 2 per state to 4 per state!

The legislature must be more democratic (small "d") and representative of the currently grossy under-represented American populace! The current legislature is out of touch with the real demos and the cronyism, spoils system, and lobbyists must be vanquished!

This 1000%. Congress and to an equal extent, political parties, have destroyed this country. I do feel that term limits would abolish much of the dismay in the Legislative branch: 6 terms for Congress and 2 terms for the senate is sufficient. It's a hopeless dream but one that is desperately needed.
 
Gun nuts wrongfully believe the answer to everything is to shoot your way to a solution. Someone doing something you don't like? Kill them.

Anyone who thinks this is the solution is someone who shouldn't be allowed to own a firearm. They're irresponsible.
 
Congress while a part of the problem is not the totality of the problem. The current administration with its cavalier attitude about enforcing US laws and nonchalance with US taxpayer money is more of a problem.
