In this year's U.S. Senate race in Nevada, which of the two-party candidates do you think will win the general election on Nov. 2?

Harry Reid. Angle is such a wingnut, it's hard to imagine the people of Nevada could vote for her once they realize how crazy she is.

and lets not forget about getting rid of porn and alcohol in vegas.

I would be interested to know what las vegas residents thinks of Angle, what percentage of them make up the state, what the voter registration levels are like there, and how that all figures into the sampling of voters in the polling being conducted.

Latest polling has Angle with 48% to Reid 41% :gogirl:

Now with Scary Harry's numbers in the toilet, I hope we can get rid of the other big two on my To-Go-List.... Senator "Don't Call Me Ma'am" Boxer and that wingnut Congressman Grayson in Florida.

When Sharron Angle was a member of the American Independent Party, they had this to say about the fight for gay rights:

But even as gays yearn to be counted among the mainstream, their record betrays a lifestyle and agenda far out of line with what most Americans consider normal, decent and just. [...]

Prominent homosexual leaders and publications have voiced support for pedophilia, incest, sado-masochism, and even beastiality. No taboo is inviolable.

Yeah, she'd be a great Senator.

When you're quoting a far-left smear site like the DailyKos, you know you're really scrapping the bottom of the barrel. Didn't you guys call Obama's friendship with Bill Ayers and Rev. Wright guilt by association? Smells like hypocrisy to me.

Regarding same-sex marriage, Reid has stated he believes "...marriage should be between a man and a woman". He also voted in favor of the Defense of Marriage Act.

The quote is a direct quote from an American Independent Party publication at the time Angle was a member of the party. She never disavowed it. Here's another story about that group when she was a member: http://www.advocate.com/News/Daily_News/2010/06/25/Sharron_Angle_Linked_to_Antigay_Insert/

If you choose to delude yourself and believe that Angle and her ilk, whom you seem to love so much, are not virulently anti-gay bigots, that's your choice. I suppose it's easier to vote for these bigots who hate people like you when you choose to remain willfully ignorant about their hatred.

Were those Angle's own words? No. And I'm guessing you're backing the other anti-gay marriage supporter Reid?

These are her words from her campaign website:

Sharron Angle worked to pass the Constitutional Protection of Marriage Act in Nevada, which defines marriage as between one man and one woman, and Sharron Angle supports the Federal Marriage Amendment to do the same. Sharron Angle has been endorsed by Family PAC Federal, Phyllis Schlafly, and Concerned Women for America.

The last time I checked, Harry Reid was not trying to enshrine anti-gay discrimination in any constitution, unlike your preferred candidate.

Exactly. I don't see any vicious remarks about gays there. Her support for traditional marriage is nothing in comparison to that harshly anti-gay statement from that party in the 90's. How can you possibly try and pass off the two as the same thing? Scary.

Harry Reid's website doesn't even address LGBT issues.

You don't see an attempt to permanently enshrine anti-gay bigotry in the U.S. Constitution as vicious? Of course, that is from her official campaign website where they attempt to sanitize her crazy views.

I wasn't equating the two. The harshly anti-gay statement was an official statement of the political party of which she was a member which she never disavowed.

How can you possibly equate saying nothing about LGBT issues in one's campaign site with espousing harshly anti-gay positions? You need to develop your critical thinking skills. Either that or admit that you value your own civil rights less then you value your right wing ideology.

Supporters of traditional marriage shouuld be considered as harshly anti-gay? Are you serious? How do you expect to win people over when you yell and scream and try to equate them to some kind of Nazi Fascism? Grow up. Why should she have to disavow something she herself never said and is no longer affiliated with? I would tell you to develop your critical thinking skills, but you've had too much left wing kool aid.

I didn't say supporters of traditional marriage are harshly anti-gay. I said those who would enshrine anti-gay discrimination in the US Constitution are harshly anti-gay. They are attempting to prevent gay people from ever having the right to marry and have all of the benefits that accrue to that right. That is harshly anti-gay.

You do understand that same-sex marriage does not threaten traditional marriage between a man and woman? If one does not believe in same sex marriage, one does not have to marry a person of the same sex. Same sex marriage in no way threatens their right to marry someone of the opposite sex, does it?

Opposition to gay marriage is based on ignorance and bigotry. You don't agree?

That's your opinion. Your definition of being "harshly anti-gay" needs to be better defined because jailing and executing us solely for being gay could also be considered "harshly anti-gay". While I don't agree with her LGBT rights, I support the large majority of her other issues. But like I said before, I don't consider supporting tradtional marriage as being "harshly anti-gay".

Like I said before, Harry Reid is a traditional marriage supporter as well.

JonesHere, laikaNYC does not seem to see marriage as a civil right. LaikaNYC, I am sorry but do you know what people that stand for "traditional marriage" in today's politically correct world stand for or the groups of people they associate themselves with? Personally, marriage is not right for me but I don't see why it is wrong for anybody else. Separation of church and state is vital in this country and unfortunately the Republican Party has taken on the task of enshrining Christianity into government throughout much of the country. Part of that is their claim for traditional marriage. Look up and take a look Texas GOP's party platform. Better yet, I have attached the link to it.
www.1888932-2946.ws Sodomy (anal sex but mainly w/ an emphasis on gay male sex) should be a crime and gay parents should not be allowed near their children without court supervision according to them.

I do see it as a civil right actually.

justright25, you, like many liberals, purposely hide the fact that many Democrats support traditional marriage and not gay marriage.
