There seems to be two threads on this topic floating around (looks like somebody bumped an older version). Maybe a nice moderator will merge them; or maybe we can pick sides and see which one ends up being more popular.

In the meantime, my turtle Claudius made a very rare appearance out of the water the other day, and I just managed to snap this pic before he scrunched back into his shell and went under the rock, where he usually hides from me (I don't think he likes me very much). I was so impressed with the picture I made it my desktop:

Isn't he adorable? I just wish he'd come out to play more. Maybe four months isn't enough time for a turtle to get used to a person.
