I suppose if we did have a Republican President, now would be a great time to fight Venezuela so we could end the threat of ISIS.

Um, that's not what happened...we declared war on Japan, and then the whole Axis declared war on us (IIRC).

John Boehner calls for American ground troops

Speaking to ABC News, Boehner criticised Obama’s plan to degrade and ultimately destroy Isis. “If the goal is to destroy Isil as the president says it is,” he said, “I don’t believe the strategy he outlines will accomplish it. At the end of the day I think it’s going to take more than airstrikes to drive them out – at some point somebody’s boots have to be on the ground, that’s the point.”

Asked whether such boots would need to be American ones if other countries failed to step up to the challenge, the top Republican in the House replied: “We have no choice. They intend to kill us. These are barbarians, if we don’t destroy them first we are going to pay the price.”

Just saying that there is as much "anti-war" propaganda that include fear tactics as there is "pro-war" propaganda. Sounds pretty related to what he was saying to me (why he couldn't clearly read that is beyond me)...

Yeah, the "war" I was the referring to was the perpetual "war" in American politics between the Conservatives and the Liberals. Hence the "red" and "blue" comment. Which has absolutely no relation to armies invading Arabs or dropping bombs on their heads. Why you couldn't clearly read that is beyond me

President Obama is just infusing fresh cash into the military industrial complex by replenishing 'smart bombs' used against ISIS. Cost of bombing ISIS so far is close to $1.5 Billion.
