There's a distinct lack of empathy from the transphobic towards those whose lifestyles they oppose.
Just the same as with gays, the issue gets rolled in with perverts, rapists and pedos as straw man arguments - and the think of the women and children defence is used as justification against those implied threats.
It's a shortcut to ostracise people, and it's a handy justification for harm done towards them.

You can only hope these kinds of debates aren't increasing the personal risk to safety of trans people. But do the people making these arguments want to cause actual harm to the minorities they're connecting to unrelated criminal acts?

You do realize that transwomen are not men. No one is fighting for the right to let men in women's spaces but to allow transwomen in these spaces as they are women.

Let's take another look at your transphobic ideas. If you basically forced people to use the same bathroom as the gender they were born into biologically then you would have transmen like this in the women's bathroom.

Why should transwomen give a damn about how transphobic people feel? I mean should Blacks have given a damn at the fact that some racist white people didn't want to use the same bathroom as them? Again transwomen are women and deserve to use the female facilities. Again what is your alternative to make for instance transmen like Buck Angel use the same restrooms as the bio females. I guarantee you that most women would rather share for instance a transwoman like Diamond Stylz then someone like Buck Angel.

By his logic, no equal rights or protections would be granted to any minority if a state legislature passes legislation denying these protections. Once again, this bill wasn't about toilets. It was about a broad attempt to allow the state and businesses to discriminate against not only transgender people, but against the lgbt citizens in a number of areas.

Nonsense. Science has not and canot eliminate the expectation of privacy in the restrooms, dressing rooms and showers. Nor can our dictators whisk it away with the snap of his fingers. Ultimatley it will be a question for the US Supreme Court. The dems will vote for total power, the Republicans will vote for democracy. Today the court would be evenly spit. Depends on the new Justice. Or a Republican president can end the Federal intrusion.

On behalf of institutions like University of North Carolina, the federal government has filed suit in order for the third branch of government to determine whether the law is a breach of civil rights.

In the meantime, the Federal government has made it clear that schools that do discriminate under the Republican piss place law may lose federal funding.

And as has already been pointed out, there is no perfect privacy in the bathroom...at least for men at urinals anyway. But last time I checked, we weren't all shitting like this....
