Are we back in the 18th century? I just laugh at the fact they want to keep a list of couples in high school. They would have to update the list every week due to the fact high school relationships are so short lived. What a waste of time and money. I hope the principal is fired. Obviously they need someone with their priorities straight.

what pisses me off more than anything is that she has a job as an "educator." how do you expect to 'educate' anyone if you harass and intimidate someone for any given reason. those are hardly the ideal environments to foster learning if you ask me.

If they were being discreet about it, and that was their preference, the principal should have honored that, as they were basically honoring her logic. And I definitely agree that the couples shouldn't have been monitored just for PDA purposes; that's definitely too Victorian...

Strictly as a side note: If it does go to court, the ACLU is definitely taking the right tac on it. If they had tried to press a discrimination issue, it would have been slammed rather easily (the principal was keeping an eye on both hetero and homo couples). Of course, I think that the principal could get nailed for slander for saying it repeatedly...

she is an adult and her name should be published in the news report. if she is so brazen as to have done what she did, then let the public know who she is?

i would like to know what part of the Edcuation Code allows her to make up such a list and post it on her desk.?

the teachers should have gone to their union if they have one and filed a grievance against her for her actions, and they in turn should have refused her request immediately.

she deserves to be removed from her position of principal of that school is she is still there and be sent to work in district offices while negotiations are going on about this matter.

she should never again be allowed to serve as a principal and in fact her administrative credentials should be revoked permanently.

in addition to that the student's parents should drag her into court and file a law suit brought against her.

the harm she has done to these two boys and all the student's names who were on that list is unacceptable and were a complete invasion of their privacy. she basically made public a school document naming the students, which unless i am mistaken is against the law.

colleges and universities should be made aware of her actions so that students entering their schools are not soiled by the actions of this woman.

I am mortified for our profession!!
I am a principal, and I assure you there is no justifiable reason for this to have happened to these boys.
She should be ashamed of herself. A principal is there to guide, to nurture, to make life as easy as possible for students....not to throw up obstacles in a kid's path to success...
She should never be allowed back in a principal's, or a teaching position!!!!
This is a very sad day, both for educators and for those who seek freedom of expresssion and freedom of sexual orientation....
