RedFox70 Appreciation Thread...

Good evening, Gatorguy (*8*) I love the picture  :luv2:

Good evening, dear Ali Cat (*8*) Great picture! :luv2: Despite having to work, my weekend has actually been pretty good, mostly due to the excellent footy results involving teams who aren't my beloved Liverpool  Several of our much disliked rivals suffered defeats and won't be winning any European trophies this year  (!)

^ *NOM* *NOM* *NOM* (UU) :luv:

I'm very glad to see that my posts met with your approval  (*8*)

...what's with having both ketchup and mushy peas on the chips? Is that normal? Just wondering, since you don't usually serve that.

Hello, most beloved of cousins (*8*) Well, yes, over here it's actually quite common to have ketchup with our chips, although I personally don't usually have it when I have fish and chips, but others in the family have been known to have it. Usually though when I do fish and chips for the family (or used to, in the old days :(), I make parsley sauce.

^ Parsley sauce? First time I've heard of that! What the heck's in parsley sauce (other than parsley)?

What a happy looking foxy! :luv2: :luv:

Good afternoon, Gatorguy (*8*)

Chaz, parsley sauce is a very tasty accompaniment to fish, and apparently it also goes well with baked ham, although I only ever have it with fish.

Parsley sauce is a cream sauce seasoned with parsley.

It is essentially a simple béchamel sauce containing chopped parsley.

I've never made it myself, I always use a packet mix, namely this one:

This page has a recipe for a fresh sauce:

Good evening, Foxy, (*8*) I hope you have had a great day, and parsley sauce brings back some memories. I haven’t had any for some time, so perhaps I should try some - I recall it being most delicious. Well, I’ve had a good day for a Monday, and I’m relaxing this evening.

You think all you wimpy slaps will stop me? laugh gif.gif

Lyrics:-

This place is where I'm from
Familiar faces and the accent's like a song
'Cause I've been travelling places
That I don't belong and
Spending days of being a stranger
Times lost when you're out of range
Without the hustle and bustle
And it all seems quite deranged

[Pre-Chorus]

But when I think about the birds and George's Hall
And when they tried to knock us down and we stood up tall
This city will forever be my saving grace
So no matter where I am

[Chorus]

I'll raise a glass to this place
So raise a glass to this place

[Verse 2]

This place has cries and screams
But there's plenty of people
Building hopes and dreams
So here's to the ones working behind the scenes
Gives me a smile, gives me a shiver
When I think of being stood on the river
Everyone's on the take
But this place she's a giver

[Pre-Chorus]

So if you're feeling sick and tired of the games you play
Have a look at where you are, it's another day
At least you're not a divvy in a bib and brace
You're ahead of the pace

[Chorus]

And you owe it all to this place
So raise a glass to this place

[Bridge]

You owe it all to this place
It's all I know
It's raining in the summer
And there's February snow
The night goes on forever
There's loads of gaffs to go
If you ask me how I'm feelin'
I'll tell you tomorrow

[Outro]

My city, my people, my heart
My city, my people, my heart
My city, my people, my heart
My city, my people, my heart

My city, my people, my heart
My city, my people, my heart
My city, my people, my heart
My city, my people, my heart
(Raise your glass to this place)

My city, my people, my heart
My city, my people, my heart
(Raise your glass to this place)
My city, my people, my heart
My city, my people, my heart
(Raise your glass to this place)

My city, my people, my heart
My city, my people, my heart
(Raise your glass to this place)
My city, my people, my heart
My city, I owe it all to this place

I've got a sinus headache but other than that I'm doing ok.
