An interesting factoid:

Presidential pardons by Administration:
  • Bill Clinton 1993-2000: 456 pardons
  • George W. Bush - 2001-2008: 200 pardons
  • Barack Obama - 2009-2016: 212 pardons, 1,715 commutations
  • Donald Trump - 2017-2020: 234 pardons
  • Joe Biden - 2021-2024: 80 pardons and 4,165 commutations

In one year, 2025, Trump issued 142 pardons, including his first pardon of over 1,600 people who participated in the Jan 6th insurrection, for a total of approximately 1,742 pardons in one year. He has also commuted the sentence of 28 people.
 
I believe Gavin Newsom is the threat Trump believed Joe Biden was. If the GOP is not able to smear him off the map, then I truly believe he will be a target of assassination before the election.

And by the end of the day, Trump had caved on Greenland and skulked off.

Meanwhile though, the effort to get the media to bend the knee continues unabated. Colbert effectively thumbed his nose and taunted the FTC Project 2025 apparatchik and Kimmel also got a few licks in.

But we know their netweorks will capitulate and forbid any more 'candidates' from appearing on air.

My solution? They should bring on all the big guns who aren't running in 2026 and let them carry the water.

I doubt if the FTC ruling would apply to them.

They also don't have a late night entertainment show...all of their interviews of candidates will be classified as 'news' on Hannity and similar programs.

^^ Back in the day news programs were subject to that rule. Rush Limbaugh started his radio program after the equal time rule was relaxed. It applies to anyone who uses the public airwaves.
 
As the article points out, it was relaxed as the media shifted from the age of radio to a multi-channel television era.

But of course the FTC will now tighten up again.

And even though there may be lawsuits, Colbert will soon be long gone and Kimmel kneecapped by Disney again.
 
On January 18, 2026, anti-ICE protesters disrupted services at Cities Church in St. Paul, Minnesota. The protesters alleged that a church pastor, David Easterwood, worked as a manager for ICE in Minnesota. Cities Church is affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention. Some of the protesters were part of the Minnesota chapter of Black Lives Matter.

Pam Bondi released a statement that she intended to press Federal charges against the protesters and would have them arrested. For protesting. For exercising their constitutional free speech rights.

Also threatened was a journalist and his producer, former CNN host Don Lemon, who had been tipped off about the planned protest and was reporting live on the protest.

Bondi was able to get a Federal District judge to indict three of the protesters. The judge rejected the charges against Don Lemon, citing his constitutional rights as a member of the Press.

DOJ prepared an "emergency appeal" of the Lemon verdict to the Appeals Court, in hopes of getting the Appeals court to agree to an arrest warrant for Don Lemon. The Appeals Court refused to grant a hearing, saying it was not an emergency and DOJ's claims against Don Lemon were likely not valid.

The ruling by a panel that included two Trump appointees followed a sharp rebuke of prosecutors by the chief federal judge in Minnesota.

A federal magistrate judge earlier this week turned down arrest warrants for five people connected to the protesters — who disrupted a Sunday service to oppose the Trump administration’s deportation operations in Minnesota.

Magistrate Judge Douglas Micko said prosecutors had failed to present evidence to justify the arrests. Among the rejected arrest warrants were those for former CNN anchor Don Lemon and one of his producers, who had advance notice of the protest and were at the church as the events unfolded. Senior DOJ officials have specifically called out Lemon, a longtime antagonist of President Donald Trump, and argued that his role as a journalist would not shield him from criminal charges.

Why stop there? All anyone would have to do is get their hands on the hotel manifests for the Hiltons where they are all staying.
