  • Hi Guest - Did you know?
Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Rolf Harris; do you care?

^ ^ ^

It sounds pathetic, mike.

The media working itself up in a frenzy. And the pathetic people who once claimed to know the so-called monster are now mute.

^ Pat Grimshaw - Oh for God sake I'm not going to sit here and confirm that all official Australian offices (including state schools) still hold the "Wattle" Queen portrait in some major part of the building but I do know that even the private (elite) schools in Australia like Kings College and The Scotts college and even my own high school in Northern New South Wales has the portrait hung. It's a very common figure ...

I'm not asking you to sit there. I'm suggesting you get off your bottom and find out the present facts.

Because I suspect everything you describe here about the "Wattle" Queen portraits started in the mid-1950s and ended in the last decade. The Queen is NO LONGER in fashion in with the PC fools, femi-Nazis and castrated men who are now in control in our country.

You know that wasn't stalking Pat, more like rough wooing.

 Oh, Bender. That man may be superficially attractive. He may have the 'gift of the gab' but I reckon if you look closer you'll find a chip on his shoulder bigger than anything in his pants.

^ To be honest Harris' art work is pretty shit and probably should be painted over on artistic grounds!

Also Pat, I do love your use of bogan. I always just imagined it to be a word we Brits associate with Australians, but that no one actually uses!

Really? I don't hear it much either.

It just seems like the kind of word I would use if I was impersonating a Aussie badly! Not that there is any problem with it Pat ;)

^ after living in the UK and Ireland I always thought "bogan" was used in the same way that you would refer to someone as a chav.

Found a definition of sorts that outlines what a chav is and bogan means exactly the same thing - except bogans can be found in all parts of urban Australia and are not just associated with the youth - it's their parents as well.

"A chav is a stereotype of certain people in the United Kingdom. Also known as a charver in Yorkshire and North East England. "chavs" are said to be aggressive teenagers, of working class background, who repeatedly engage in anti-social behaviour such as street drinking, drug abuse and rowdiness, or other forms of juvenile delinquency."

England as a whole is falling to pieces.I like certain areas within the country Devon is a nice place and so are a few upper class areas In London. The government is a disgrace I used to be a fan of the conservatives, but their current leader/prime minister is nothing more than laziness even Thatcher didn't spend most her time on vacation.

Without the idea of the following list.
Eastenders.
Hollyoaks.
Big brother.
The only way is Essex.
Sainsburys and Waitrose the Supermarkets.
And made in Chelsea and a couple of good looking females Helen from Big Brother and Winston Showan the place is really a dump and a world of problems.

England as a whole is falling to pieces….
I get the same sad impression. And I hear the hordes of Romanian beggars are equally grumpy at the slim pickings to be had thieving, littering and begging around their camps in the tunnels and at the Marble Arch and Park Lane.

Meh England has problems, but its pretty much the same problems as everywhere else in Northern/Western Europe - on the whole its fine, just a bit expensive. I don't like the government, or the hatred of everyone they are spreading.

It's funny Mike, the list you put forward are all things I really dislike about the UK!! Except Devon of course, but that can go into the sea if it means The Only Way is Essex/Made in Chelsea ends! We would still have the much nicer Somerset to hang out in, so it would not be a huge loss! Upper class parts of London are ghost towns, all the property is owned by Chinese people and no one lives there. It's just deathly quiet and empty! Much rather be in Brixton or Newham!

My city allows beggars to beg in streets. But if the beggars grow to more than six in a group they are taken away by the Police/and /Social Welfare Workers.

I hear Britain's Social Welfare Workers Industry is being worked off its feet looking after one third of the nation on welfare as well as all the thousands of people smuggling themselves onto trucks at Calais to enjoy Britain's sentimental generosity to freeloaders.

Well the welfare thing is a bit confusing - saying 1/3 are on it makes it sound terrible, but everyone aged over 65 is on welfare, all parents with children (but earning under 50k) are on benefits, people in low paying jobs are on benefits, students are on benefits. The fact is most of our welfare claimants work or are pensioners - it's the bosses refusing to pay people that keeping people on them. If we saw a rise in wages to match the cost of living, we would get more people off benefits. But ya know, companies are more important than humans.

Anyway, immigrants are not a burden on us fiscally - they are net providers in terms of tax etc. The only problem they add to is our housing crisis, but that's not their problem - Thatcher's sell off of our housing stock for a cheap, short term profit, while never replacing it is to blame for that.

^ How can supporting thousands of new mouths to feed, house, clothe, sewer, police and bury NOT affect you fiscally?

This is one of the boats heading into the southern ports of the EEC. They want to come to England because the English people are the MOST generous paying in the EEC.

We are not, Germany much much more! I think I know English people who have moved there for the benefits!

They pay their taxes, they pay towards the infrastructure. We need houses built, but not by the private sector - they won't do it for our needs, but just purely for their profits. Its a problem, but we can manage it if we want to - right now we are just refusing to try and deal with the problems and are instead just standing around screaming about immigrants.

It'd be cheaper if he be forced to wear an radio-frequency transmitting ankle bracelet and be chemically castrated.

^ It would appease Sasha Wass and all the man-haters who have salivating over his trial.
