And now that you mention it, I DO remember the Queen talking about "aborting white Republican babies out of existence" in her Christmas address. I didn't think anything of it at the time (I'm a Dem so it seemed to me a natural thing for her to say) but NOW it's all starting to make sense.....

Well, the latest gaffe of the Romney foreign sweep to demonstrate his diplomatic skills is his tussle with the Polish press. Seems they expect in Poland that candidates for political office will want to express their views on political subjects.

Romney has not given a press conference in days. So, Polish journalists have been shouting out questions at him, hoping to learn at least something about this man who would be president. But, still nothing. At the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in Warsaw, Romney's press secretary told one journalist: "Kiss my ass, this is a holy site."

Mr Romney won't answer any questions and even his press team finds it difficult to respond to the most basic inquiries about what their candidate has said.

Frustration grows between Romney camp and journalists.

The point is that Mittens botched his first foreign trip by insulting the Brits in a very undiplomatic way. What makes it so amusing is that the ruling party in Britain right now is the Conservative Party (most of whose elected officials appear to prefer Obama to Romney), and because Romney forcefully touted his ability to "restore" the special relationship between Great Britain and the US. Mitt Romney would restore 'Anglo-Saxon' relations between Britain and America - Telegraph Good job Mittens.

Our American Democratic Party would be regarded in Europe as a conservative party, as it stands somewhat right of the European (and world) center. The British Conservative Party is much closer ideologically to the Democrats than to Republicans.

There is a joke in Europe: "America has two political parties - right and far right."
