Looked to me like Ripa was being kind of rude to Aiken, but I don't watch the show, maybe she's always a camera hog. But her, "I know where that hand's been, honey" did have a whiff of homophobia about it, and would she have said that to Brad Pitt?
I also thought Ripa telling O'Donnell "not everything's homophobic" was a revealing thing to say. O'Donnell very rarely says something is homophobic so clearly that's out of Ripa's own thought process. Seemed to me a homophobic thing to say.
And it IS weird that Rosie O'Donnell seems to have outed Clay Aiken without knowing it.
My guess is that in the "heat" of the discussion, Kelly mis-spoke here and probably meant something more like "not everything is homosexually related". The homophobic word had already been thrown out there and Kelly...not one who debates social issues...mis-spoke. I've watched both shows fairly regularly and have never seen Kelly make any kind of homophobic remark or innuendo. Rosie makes references almost daily to being lesbian and talks about homosexual issues in general...that's one of the views she brings to the table...probably what Kelly was referring to.

to Rosie for this one.
