Oh and that she's "rude." Would anything ever change if people were afraid of being "rude"? Lord, people...get at least some semblance of a clue. For all of our sakes.

Well I don't consider her an icon and I don't agree with her political views but I loved her talk show and I loved her on The View. She really entertains me when she is not talking about politics. I like her stories about her life and stuff. Weird, I know!

well yes things would change... I wouldn't consider Ghandi, Rosa Parks, Martin Luther King Jr. or a number of people who made far more of a change than Rosie ever has to be "rude"

Rosie is an icon to me, but i wouldn't consider her a gay icon. More of a television icon because her show was fabulous!!

As far as calling her a fat cow, I think she is definately larger, but so are so many others. At least she isn't trying to look sexy for everyone.

I appreciate her activism, but she annoys the hell out of me. I think she was once iconic to some, but these days I dont think she is. She was never an icon to me, personally.

I think that Rosie O'Donnel is one of this Decade's Gay Icon's. From her own Show, to the time on the View, to Nip/Tuck. We all have enjoyed her Best of Times and scorned her Worst of Times. I feel that if Rosie O'Donnel was any other person then the one she is, then she wouldn't be where she is today is the World of Entertainment.


I have been a passenger on the RFamily Cruises which she started with her Wife, and their Best Friend. Thanks to RFamily Cruises, I was able to show my kids, that they were not the only ones out there with 2 Gay Dads. I also thank Rosie and RFamily for giving me the opportunity to get married on International Waters :kiss:.

So, you guys can continue to knock her all you want, but she will always be Aces in my Eyes :=D::=D:.

I LOVE Rosie O' Donnel..I dunno if I would consider her an icon but she is AWESOME..people REALLY do have a VERY short memory and tend to forget all the good things shes done..All the things shes done when she had the Rosie O' Donnel show...sure she stirred up some stuff on the view but 90% of what she said was right! And I think all the people calling her names and stuff are really pathetic..GROW UP! seriously if yah dont like her..DONT TALK ABOUT HER! sounds like a simple concept to me :)

I agree. I appreciate her activism, I appreciate her stance on the war, I appreciate her views on justice and equality -- but the way she goes about expressing those opinions, views and ideas is absolutely obnoxious. I don't blame her for being passionate about the things she believes in, but I do fault her for her narrow-minded approach. During her arguments on The View with Elisabeth (who I can't stand), she never listened. She just heard soundbites and went flying off on a royal tangent, as if everything Hasslebeck ever thought, said or felt were in the three words she managed to squeak out before Rosie went off. It's like, calm down, girl! Nobody listens to loud, hysterical rants -- no matter how much they might agree with you! Like you can enjoy five different songs individually, but if you play them all at the same time at high volume, it just becomes noise.

Yes. She is an icon to me. You have to look beyond her outer appearances and try to hear what she is saying. She really has some great thoughts.

Also you have to remember where she comes from. There is a video of her and Mariah Carey on You Tube and when they both let go and foget who they are you can see the streets of NY in them. lol...Mariah is so funny in this video.
