Rupaul's Drag Race Season 5

Me thinks it be between Jinxx'ie & 'laska (sorry detox & roxxy). Glad I don't have to decide.

Really can't say which season is my fav but I always tend to favor early seasons which tend to ground breaking by their very nature. I guess I just gotta' go back and do a review of past seasons if I am going to have a fav (aw shucks :) ).
 
Jinkx is the clear winner. She has videos up on YouTube somewhat Documentary-ish and she's mentioned how she now has a stylist that helps her out. I can't wait for the reunion episode, hopefully it's the same as last season where winners were announced live on stage. Alaska is also deserving of the title but I just don't get her drag aesthetic other than comedy.
 
I found this episode really touching. It was definitely one of my favorite makeover episodes.

Roxxxy deserved the win, but I do find her runway looks somewhat boring, in general.

Jinkx did well and from what little I saw of the routine it looked fun. I did think she aged her guy up and I was surprised to hear that he was 67. He didn't look that old to me. I also found the Judy Garland bit interesting.

I thought Alaska did well, but then when I saw them show how bad the padding was, I was not impressed.

Detox is boring me, but I found the story of her accident really touching and it explains why she looks a bit overdone, surgery-wise. I'm hoping she brings back some of her initial energy because she was one of my faves at the beginning.

I'm glad Coco is gone. I was over her drama.

I'm not totally sure who is going to win. I have a feeling Jinkx and Alaska will make it to F2 since Ru hasn't really had a straight out comedy queen win and both Jinkx and Alaska have shown improvement throughout the competition while Roxxy and Detox started out strong and have stagnated.
 
I also wish there was more creative challenges where they have to make their own outfits think its boring when they have had time to create specific looks from back home..cause everyone can hire a person so make you an outfit
 
is that michelle visages singing voice? so surreal.

also, there is a fitness instructor who calls himself "storm", which is mindnumbingly stupid and exactly perfect for this show. also, he was hot.

my favourite season is 4, by far. i think it was an all around bullseye, the contestants were amazing (sharon! latrice! willam! chad!), there was real sense of competition, and the right person won. also, the villain was good.

season 1 was also really good. season 2 was alright, but had a couple of sour notes (particularly how they treated pandora, and who ended up winning). season 3 was great, but the one thing that bothered me was that there was no sense of competition. after only a couple of episodes, it was clear to me that raja would win, and manila be runner-up. they were just head-and-shoulders above the rest.

this season has had a general lack of interesting contestants, but the producers are working overtime to make this a great show, nontheless. ive loved every episode so far. i think by now, theyve really perfected the formula.
 
I wish roxxxy would have left and detox would have stepped it up and stayed but i hope Jinkx takes it all the way
 
I really hope that if yhey do a live finale with audience agian this season that people will booh the shit out of roxxy her behavior is so fucking awfull and keeps worse and worse...and the worst thing is that she dosent seem to realizing it herself... I also didten enjoy her outfit i liekd the idea but it was also very obvious to use the strings as fringes done before and her white underwear underneath were showing should have used nude instead and her executive look was the same as we have seen over and over agian just with less tits...

I also had a huge problem with her executive look... Its alook she has just alooooooot of time in her performances before Rupaul so thought it was pretty boring not to have something made especially for the show. Fine with her leaving..her lipsync was bad and the mouth thing gets older and older and her candy outfit looked cheap....

I had to agree with the judges I didten enjoy any of her looks but her lipsync was amazing

Alaska<
I looved her executive & candy look and thougt her win was will deserved....
 
This week's episode was... meh. I didn't feel the competition, I already knew who was going home. The top 3 didn't excite me the way the past seasons did. I think it's a battle between Alaska and Jinkx with Roxxxy as a filler. The sad part is, I don't think anyone else in the cast deserved the 3rd spot. There was so much talent, but nothing we've never seen on past seasons. I read on some blogs that the winners will be announced the same way season 4 was during the live show to avoid spoilers that happened with the other seasons.

The highlight of the episode was Jinkxs lip-sync though. I usually don't dig campy Queens, but Jinkx girl... WERK!
 
penayforray i was thinkin the same thing about her outfit lookin like somethin shes done before lol glad you called it out. good to the live show reveal idiots around where i live say they know who wins cause they have a reliable source lmao. Yeah will last time i checked their source said Chad wins and wikipedia said Phi phi did and look what happened it was Sharon. If the fans have a say then Roxxxy is screwed lol.
 
I loved this episode!

It was time for Detox to go, even though I felt bad for her. She started out so strong and I think the judges knew she could do better and were wondering why she wasn't bringing it. It may have been that she was second guessing herself, like she said at one point.

Roxxxy got on my last nerve. I thought she did pretty well on the challenge, but I didn't like her executive look all that much. It seemed too short to me, once she went for the reveal.

Jinkx bombed pretty hard this week, but she rocked that lip sync. I do think that song was tailor made for her and if she had done badly with it, I would have been surprised.

Alaska did great and I'm glad she's coming into her own.

I feel like Jinkx will more than likely win this. With that said, I do feel Jinkx is missing something and needs to be more confident. I do identify with her though because there are times when I wanted to project more confidence and had trouble doing so. I would be okay with Jinkx winning and can see why she would deserve it.

I would like to see Alaska win, but sometimes she bores me with her runway looks. She's not always as polished as she should be if she's going to be America's Next Drag Superstar. Here's hoping she can show some really strong look and keep everything else on point to take home the crown!

As far as Roxxxy goes, she's all polish and pretty boring. I can't see her winning this.
 
Roxxxy Andrews is way too rude to Jinkx Monsoon. Competition or not incivility is fully uncalled for Roxxxy.
 
I think Jinkx has all of you girls fooled, because she is very fake and phony to me. And if she's not, then I still don't like her for being such a weak bitch. Alaska was being messy on Untucked too but damn the bitch is pretty in drag.

I'm pulling for Roxxxy.

But really, at the end of the day, I was pulling for Detox. Mostly because of her connection to Willam & I'm hoping Vicky Vox makes it on Season 6. Since Detox isn't happening, Alaska/Jinx are interchangeable for me. Between those two, I don't really care who wins as long as it isn't Roxxy (which I don't think Ru would do).
 
i thought coco was the big villain of the season, but roxxy stepped up to fill that vacuum real quick, didnt she? she just got on my last nerve, and even more infuriatingly, she did quite well with the challenge. her teen and executive look were not all that, but her candy look was amazing.

detox goes, and it makes sense. she always was a good-not-great competitor, and i always liked-not-loved her. it was sad to see her get ugly with roxxy about jinkx, i thought she had more class than that. to her credit, i loved her executive look, and her lipsynch was fierce.

alaska is the clear winner this week, and a class act. her runway looks were all very good, each one a fully realized character. pulling off that pantsuit and short har was impressive. and the way she walked the line between detoxxy and jinkx with class and grace couldnt have been easy. i think shes gonna win miss congeniality.

no doubt the producers were delighted to have jinkx bomb (but not too badly) this week, to add some real competition to the proceedings. shes still the clear winner in my mind, though.

Jinkx is an amazing talent and really deserves the win. If you've never watched her vids on youtube, you really should check them out...especially this one

 
Slightly unrelated, but here is Willam featuring Sharon Needles with "RuPaulogize". The song is a semi-response to the show not including Willam in "All Stars" after they initially included him. Sharon does a wonderful Rupaul!
