Russian Invasion of Ukraine

And once again, the US ties Zelensky's hand behind his back. BidenCo. did the same thing, so this is a sin of continuity...but it shows tht Trump is firmly on the side of the Kremlin.

From Bluesky:

"Trump is preparing to lift restrictions on Ukraine's use of long-range missiles against Russia, — Senator Graham

📍This is necessary to inflict much more serious damage on Russian troops.

📍Next week, he also intends to introduce a bill to recognize Russia as a state sponsor of terrorism."

Graham is lying, of course, but:

What may be really happening here is that because Ukraine couldn’t have Tomahawks, they developed their own cruise missile, now in serial production, and it has twice the range of a Tomahawk and a larger warhead.

Why would Ukraine or any country buy the US weapon when there’s something better offered without the reliance on US producers or the US government?

Are we all following Mallen Baker? I hope so. Here he is yesterday marking Ukrainian Independence Day by driving home the point he makes so often, that Trump's America is an adversary of Ukraine while posing as an ally; and he considers the consequences for Europe and the wider world that flow from that. It's heartening to hear someone saying out loud what everyone must be thinking.

Not the news one wants to wake up to...

Poland said early Wednesday that multiple Russian drones entered and were shot down over its territory with help from NATO allies, describing the incident as an “act of aggression” carried out during a wave of Russian strikes on Ukraine.

Several European leaders said they believed Russia was intentionally escalating the war, and NATO was discussing the incident in a meeting. It came three days after Russia’s largest aerial attack on Ukraine since the war began, an attack that for the first time hit a key government building in Kyiv.

“Russia’s war is escalating, not ending,” European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said. “Last night in Poland we saw the most serious European airspace violation by Russia since the war began, and indications suggest it was intentional, not accidental.”

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk wrote on social media that Polish airspace was violated by multiple Russian drones. “Those drones that posed a direct threat were shot down,” Tusk said.

So much for Trump's peace summit in Alaska... and Trump's threats that he's going to do um... something if Putin doesn't agree to make a deal.

Putin has attacked a NATO member, prompting an action from NATO and the attacks on Ukraine have escalated. And the White House has no clue what to do about it.

It will come to nothing.

The drones were not attacking Poland, only violating airspace. This has happened before and it is written off as a 'mistake' because neither NATO or RRzzia want to escalate this to a pan European/NATO conflict.

And the White House will likely not even comment on it.

Well Trump kind of commented on it...revealing his utter lack of what to do or say.

The hung low toilet guy commented, though!

Matthew Whitaker, Trump's Ambassador to NATO, shown here grimacing after his balls dropped into the cold toilet.

Every inch matters to Matt! :ROFLMAO:
The U.S. Ambassador to NATO, Matthew Whitaker, also weighed in on the incident. “We stand by our NATO allies in the face of these airspace violations and will defend every inch of NATO territory,” he vowed.

How about Poland declares a "no drone" zone reaching 250km from their borders, regardless of what country they're over?
I don't think that Ukraine is sending drones over Poland to attack rrrzzia.

And inherently there is already a no drone zone over all of Poland.

This was no overfly accident.

This was a purposeful incursion against a NATO member state.

These drones by my eye would appear to have been launched from Kaliningrad? Or Belarus? In order to escape the anti-drone batteries inside of northern and eastern Ukraine.

I suspect that Rzzzia will only try this once for now in order to test defensive lines.

IT seems a remarkably stupid gambit on their part.

Poor Taco Trump always getting pushed by his pals Putin and Bebe, in this instance he’s become the Rodney Dangerfield of presidents and that’s gotta hurt for a fella that craves respect.

Timely:

The UK has announced 100 new sanctions on Russia.
The Foreign Office say the sanctions will "build economic pressure on Russia, targeting its military sector and illicit shadow fleet"

Meanwhile from the White House:

Crickets.

So the totally feckless and useless UN will hold a meeting to allow Poland to swear at the Kremlin and then to hear the lies spewed out by the rrrxzzianz..either claming that the drones were Ukrainian or that it was all just an 'oopsie'.

And the Security Council members will do nothing.
