Senate Repeals DADT

Re: Senate DADT vote likely on Saturday

I'm an Obama basher so I'll be happy to answer this...Obama did shit to get this passed. It was Congress, not Obama that got this to a vote.Obama,if you haven't noticed,is pretty fucking useless.

As a matter of fact, it was Obama that instructed the Justice Department to appeal the original court verdict striking down DADT..What a fierce advocate..

If anyone here is to be thanked, let's thank Harry Reid for keeping the heat on and getting it to a vote..

So if President Obama is Useless to the Gay Community and DADT getting Repealed & Signed why don't your ungrateful Ass explain how the previous Administrations WERE beneficial to "The Fight"?

Oh yeah and Dubya would have signed the DADT-Repeal during his Administration but he had other things to worry about...Yeah, right......Repealing DADT wasnt even up for Debate back then......Dems were elected to Congress on the Coat-tails of Obama's win in 2008 which made it easier to Repeal DADT this year...We now have a President that will sign the Fucking Repeal....had John McCain won the 2008 Presidential election he would have done the SAME Fucking thing you hear & see him doing now...Showing the Gay Community his Old Ass to Kiss...

But you're a Smart guy, right? You stood in line back in 2008 waiting to cast your vote for McCain & that Moose hunting Bitch and you'll be standing in line again in 2012 casting your vote for another Republican Idiot that just LOVES Gay people.................

How useful are you to the Gay Community?

Then when congress passes other laws, why is Obama to blame? I never understand the parallels you guys draw. Congress passes this stupid law, Obama is to blame. Congress passes this amazing law, Obama had nothing to do with it.

Anyway, Obama did state that he would uphold laws already on the books until they were struck down. And he kept his word.

Re: Senate DADT vote likely on Saturday

1-How do you know that Obama had any role in accelerating the vote?
Gibbs said Obama consulted with Reid on this.

2-I know compromise is one of Obama favorite words, but this was a stand alone bill. What was there to compromise on? You vote yes or no..
That has nothing to do with what I was saying. The "compromise language" was referencing the text of the bill, this was worked out back in May. Part of the compromise was that Obama would not suspend discharges right away.

What Senators did Obama consult with and how did he get them to change their vote?
A full list that he called was not released, it was just stated that he had called Senators, this was from Gibbs also.

Wasn't it also Obama that appointed the Marine Commandant that was badmouthing the study and, said that soldiers, distracted by gays among them, would die as a result of having to serve alongside gays?
Ok, sure that wasn't helpful, but ultimately it made no difference.

5-Was it Obama that made it a priority or public pressure?
Yes it was.

I think you have misunderstood Knucklehead. His is an attack from the left, not from the right. He was not a McCain supporter. He wanted someone to the left of Obama. (Or at least someone he perceived to be to the left of Obama.)

Re: Senate DADT vote likely on Saturday

:rotflmao:

That is the lie the MSM fed you... Obama is a lightweight

MisterMajestic, if Obama were Nero you'd declare how beautifully he plays the fiddle (lyre) :D

The repeal of DADT before yrs end looks very good ..| I'm happy to have lived to see it...

Thanks to Nancy & Harry on this one and the few repubs who broke rank :gogirl:

So, Obama never was a Constitutional professor at the University of Chicago?

:^o

Re: Senate DADT vote likely on Saturday

I like when you talk dirty..

About the facts as you see them..

1-How do you know that Obama had any role in accelerating the vote?
Do you have a valid comment to this statement.

I mean, how do you know Obama still fucks his wife?

2-I know compromise is one of Obama favorite words, but this was a stand alone bill. What was there to compromise on? You vote yes or no..
How about compromises on other bills like extending the Bush tax cuts to even get this vote to a vote and getting republican support on it. Cause it would have gone no where without a little republican support.

3-What Senators did Obama consult with and how did he get them to change their vote?
IDK, you gotta ask those senators, maybe wikileaks will release those transcripts soon. This is like the earlier question you asked.

I mean what diplomats does Obama talk to and how does he get them to keep supporting American interests?

4-Wasn't it also Obama that appointed the Marine Commandant that was badmouthing the study and, said that soldiers, distracted by gays among them, would die as a result of having to serve alongside gays?
You dont appoint a Commandant to the marines based on his love of the gays. You appoint him based on his ability to do his job. I doubt they even mentioned it to each other. If Obama even had a hand in who was picked, usually it is left up to the military commanders themselves with some Congressional approval.

5-Was it Obama that made it a priority or public pressure?
To be honest, I don't think enough of the public cared about this bill to put pressure on it. So I am gonna go with Obama made it a priority Bob for 200

Re: Senate DADT vote likely on Saturday

Congradulations to everyone!

1. Equal protection under the law prevails.

2. Separation of powers is maintained.
(Pres. Obama's rejection of using an executive order which still
would have made it possible for a reverse executive order in the future.)

3. The perseverance and courage of activists like Daniel Choi. :luv2:

Re: Senate DADT vote likely on Saturday

Again, are you suggesting Obama wasn't a constitutional professor? Is that what you're suggesting?

Well he wasn't born here, so he obviously couldn't have attained gainful employment, lol.

My ungrateful ass..Lol..Is this you getting all black on me now? Lol..Too funny..To answer your question, they weren't beneficial, and I don't believe Obama was either..

Oh yeah and Dubya would have signed the DADT-Repeal during his Administration but he had other things to worry about...Yeah, right......Repealing DADT wasnt even up for Debate back then......Dems were elected to Congress on the Coat-tails of Obama's win in 2008 which made it easier to Repeal DADT this year...We now have a President that will sign the Fucking Repeal....had John McCain won the 2008 Presidential election he would have done the SAME Fucking thing you hear & see him doing now...Showing the Gay Community his Old Ass to Kiss...?

Like I said before,it's Congress, and Harry Reid that deserve thanks. Not Obama.Sorry if that bothers you.But tough shit. You can sit here and pretend Obama is a progressive.I know better. There is nothing progressive about this guy.

But you're a Smart guy, right? You stood in line back in 2008 waiting to cast your vote for McCain & that Moose hunting Bitch and you'll be standing in line again in 2012 casting your vote for another Republican Idiot that just LOVES Gay people.................?

Sorry pal, hate to piss on your parade, but I didn't vote for any GOP candidate.I'm not now, nor have I ever been a republican..That's funny though..

I'm also not an Obama savant.I don't sit here and try to convince other people that he is some sort of progressive. At best, he's more like a moderate republican. He has open hostility for the left and progressives..

How useful are you to the Gay Community?

Oh, I don't know..Back during the height of the plague,I used to donate my cab a few hours a week to let AIDS patients run errands.I've volunteered to help people register to vote.I've spoken on the steps of the Salt Lake City County building in support of a marriage bill back in 2004.I've traveled to Washington D.C. to demonstrate for increased gay rights and AIDS research..I've spoken to gay youth groups about the dangers of drug addiction.I've also donated to and voted for gay freindly democratic candidates..And.... I've fucked lots and lots of bitchy queens ..How about you?

Re: Senate DADT vote likely on Saturday

LL, my response was to MM's "Harvard" reference

BTW-- how's the diet going? best of luck on it

The mainstream media, as far as I can remember, has never said Obama taught at Harvard. The University of Chicago has the third best law school in the country. Not too shabby.

And by the west, Majestic wrote a whole paragraph. Cherry picking what you want to respond to is a sign of weakness.

And no, I'm not on a diet. Thanks for asking though BearDaddy.

Yeah, something like that..I voted for Obama because he was better than Mc Cain..

But, I won't bullshit myself and pretend we have similar goals..He's made it clear we don't..

Re: Senate DADT vote likely on Saturday

Both [Reid and Obama] deserve it [i.e. thanks]. Would not have happened without both of them pushing this.

I don't know about you, but Harry Reid has left me cussing and biting my nails over all this. I would have credited Lieberman, Levin, and a few others. Reid's calling for the cloture vote on the Defense Appropriation Bill before the tax bill made me pretty angry. He's no Pelosi.

Obama, on the other hand, hasn't done anything to annoy me through all of this. He's a behind-the-scenes operator as far as I can tell--anything but a showboater. That probably isn't a particularly good thing for his political standing.

Re: Senate DADT vote likely on Saturday

So now all that remains is calling for the vote on the underlying bill. I can hardly imagine that not happening. It looks like we're less than a week away. Good. And no thanks to my Senators.

Nor mine!,
Oh, wait. They're the same ones.
Hutchinson told me that she knew better than Gates or any of the Generals that wanted it repealed. Cornyn said something similiar.
I sure with they would disappear.:grrr:

Yes. I, too, wish them . . . er, elsewhere. If anyone wants to see some people who are truly useless in advancing gay rights, he need look no further than Senators Hutchinson and Cornyn.

Elsewhere, of course. That was my intention
.

Re: Senate DADT vote likely on Saturday

The Senate is voting on final passage now.

Ensign changed his vote to yes. Good call for him.

Re: Senate DADT vote likely on Saturday

I didn't find it until near the end, but from the twitter feeds it's all over.
