And of course, Faust McCarthy says he will not do anything about Santos. Can you imagine if a Democrat did the same thing, Faust would be tearing a hole through the Capital dome to get them ejected from Congress. Deceitful hypocrits.

If a Democrat did such a thing,  Democrats would be pushing to get him out of Congress.

That's why people inclined to pull Frits like Santos has do it as Republicans.

^The amazing thing is that this guy told such grand fables and no one ever asked questions about it.

For example, the Long Island local Republican Party chapter said that Santos told them that he was a volleyball player in college. It might be difficult to determine whether someone attended classes at a university. However, figuring out if someone was on the volleyball team is pretty damn easy.


A lot of people weren't taking his candidacy seriously. The only person who seemed to be asking questions was the local press and no one seemed to be paying attention to the press reports.

The New York Democratic Party needs to fire a bunch of their campaign administration staff. This is embarrassing for them, too.
 
They didn't question him because another Republican policy is not to see things you don't want to know.

If this hadn't gone public, they would have welcomed him with open arms no matter what they knew or suspected. Like in all kleptocracies, his crime was getting caught.
 
Not that it makes it any better, but he "clarified" he meant the 142,000 who elected him. Meaning, "voted out". Meaning, he is not resigning. I wonder what the election recall rules are in New York?

I totally support Santos NOT being kicked out of office.

I see him as a gift.
 
I tend to agree.

As a fabulist, he will end up being a constant source of embarrassment and I keep thinking that there are still even better tales to come.

He will be the new Madison Cawthorn...a distraction until he starts to drag some of the power players down with him and then they will be gunning for him.
 
I doubt if one honest thing has come out of his mouth since he was 2 years old.

I suspect either a pathological issue with his brain or a very damaged childhood. Or both.

All the lying is the one thing that makes me think he actually is gay. It's not the first time I've come across compulsive lying from gay men with issues about themselves.
 
I have too...although I also have run into some straight men who also do it. But he definitely is obsessed with being the star in the movie of his own life.
 
That's what flags it for me, he's not lying to his own benefit, it all sounds like fantasy-making that's more about his image of himself.

Reminder: one such straight man was the disgraced, twice impeached President of the United States.

There's video out there of Santos giving a speech after his 2020 election loss, claiming that his election was rigged and stolen from him, just like the then President. Their motivations might be a little different: Trump lies as a consequence of a narcissist's inability to accept his own short-comings (which are many). Santos, as Tx-Beau said, lies for no good reason, although there is likely some personality disorder underlying.

Pathological lying (pseudologia fantastica) is all the rage these days.
