Shepherd 2 appreciation thread

We are keeping your friends and you in our thoughts and prayers, Shep! (*8*)

...... I am working with a couple of national figures to find a way to form a new political force or party for the centrist silent majority in our country. It is time to be silent no more and sweep the extremes both Right and Left out of office.

I never really thought that the US had left wing extremists who got anywhere near office. O'Bama's got nothing on the Labour Party here.

^if you compare Obama with our *beloved* canadian prime minister, Steven Harper, the US President IS a extreme leftist!

Dear Gentlemen,
I do not consider Obama a Leftist or extremist. There are some in the Democratic Party. I for one hope that the Nationalization of Medical Care does not fail. One of the great scandals of this country is that private insurance has made the biggest profits of any industry in these United States. It is scandalous that our National Congress gives them such empowerment. But their liberal funding of the candidates for office allows it to continue. As a retired man, I know that I depend on Medicare and hope that what passed in December will be enough.

Forty million of us have no medical provision. If that was not its own death squads, then what was? I hope to live to see this change permanent as it is in Canada, Australia, and all of Europe.

^hey Shep! Glad to see you! Perhaps, on this MLK day, it would be an appropriate time to start considering health care as a civic right?

Let's hope our Shep is not frozen, like the mercury of my thermometer!

Hi Shep (*8*) How did I miss this thread for so long.

My mother's heart was attacked by a virus. Twice. She recovered the first time. The second she held on for 18 months, slowly declining.

How is your friend doing?

Warm hugs to you, my friend (*8*)(*8*)(*8*)(*8*)

Thanks Boris and Triple G, I want all my friends to thrive and live long healthy lives. I am ready for a more peaceful time. I was a mentor to my friend's grandson that we buried on Saturday. It was a difficult day, but I am glad I was there for him, he is only 22.

Take care, and stay warm.

Love to all,
Shep+(!)..|

Oh Shep, that is so sad. Only 22. He didn't get a chance to experience life. Many hugs to you and and the family. (*8*)

Have a safe trip. And stay warm.

Dear Buddies at JUB, (*8*)(*8*)..|
Our drive was safe both ways. It was amazing how good the roads were for our drive at this time of year. There was only about eight inches of snow on the ground while we were there, and a lot of good planning for September was done, and now I must start the plan to round up some money for then.

I will be checking in regularly. I hope your lives are calm and healthful. I also hope that you are hunkering down for the storm that is blasting a lot of folks from the Southwest through the Northeast.

Take care, I will post again later in the day.

:wave:Hi Shep. Good to have you back and safe from the storm. (*8*)

Thanks Triple G,

But my life seems to be spiriling downward these last couple of months. Fortunately after we returned about ten hours later we lost electricity for about 38hours due to an ice and wind storm. We are due another one in the next day. So we are holding our breathes.

We do have a fireplace, and oil lamps as well as a good supply of wood and oil
Then last night one of my two nighty-six year old buddies had a heart attack. I did get to the hospital to visit. He appears to be doing pretty well.

Hold me in your thoughts and prayers.

Exhausted Shep+](*,)

(*8*) Shep, I think the worst part of growing old is to see our family and friends ill and dying. Hang in there and stay warm.
