You should experience temperatures which make snow squeak when you walk on it. That's cold!
Windchills are the worst, though. It's not unusual for the wind to make the temperatures fell 10 to 20 degrees colder than they actually are.
Stop your whining! I'm about to walk to work in -30C (before windchill). Then to make matters worse, the temperature is down to Zero Fahrenheit (-18C) Wednesday night. Where is global warming when you need it? I hope that the power stays on!
Great, if this is another bad storm this will be the 3rd week in the row where I won't see my boyfriend because of it. This is getting depressing.

Seriously, -40?Seriously, we're at the temperatures where the Fahrenheit and Celsius scales meet.
Seriously, -40?
Whoa- sounds kinda cool - and scary. I didn't even know that was possible.
The above...when we had the "thunder freezing rain"...the temperature was about 22 F, which is well below freezing. But there was obviously a very large warmer layer above. I've heard of freezing rain (in Tulsa, I think) when the surface temperature was about 12 or 15 F.This is a common misunderstanding when it comes to meteorology. Surface temps have nothing to do with whether you will get snow, sleet, or freezing rain. It has to do with the temps above the ground.
This is going to be an epic snowstorm for a big chunk of the midwest and lower great lakes. I wouldn't be surprised to see a few areas approach two feet of snow before all is said and done.
I see that this morning they have an update.... its calling for 18 to 22 inches
Snow accumulations could reach 18-22 inches or more, followed by strong winds that could put stress on ice-coated trees and power lines.
