Soccer World Cup 2010

Drawing with Italy is far beyond our wildest predictions. We're ecstatic. Looks like Italy's strikers are not up to World Cup winning standard.
There's also talk here about how the 5 traditional European power houses - Spain, Italy, Germany, France and England have so far only won one game between them.
justaguy,

The All Whites have good reason to be proud of themselves for an outstanding match against Italy.

If I may disagree with "Looks like Italy's strikers are not up to World Cup winning standard." I think they are mostly up to standard, and New Zealand equaled them! :=D:

Is the party still going on in Aotearoa? :gogirl:

I feel really bad for the North Korean team, for several reasons.

Our breakfast radio shock jock has a satirical snippet at the end of his show every morning called News to Use or Lose.

This morning's snippet, all football related:
"Given allegations of his recent frank discussions with the media, John Terry should not expect any private visits from Fabio Capello's wife any time soon.

"In related news, the sports section of the Pyongyang Times only article is about a local ping-pong tournament.

"In unrelated news, shortly after the 7-0 drubbing of DPRK by Portugal in Cape Town yesterday eleven gunshots were heard in the dressing room at Green Point Stadium."

All very comedic, but hopefully not the case when the guys get back home on Saturday...

Poor John Terry. So hot. So so hot. Stripped of the English captaincy... and all because he couldn't keep his cock in soccer shorts...

*sigh*

SO HOT!

Franky Handsome and Pretty Boy Yoann...

More french spectacle - rumours about a little fight between Ribery and Gourcuff:

http://hubpages.com/hub/World-Cup-brawl-between-Ribery-and-Gourcuff

Well... something like this happens - if so many contrasts collide:

Gutter against nobility, third school and high school, monster-face versus model-looks...

WHEN! Four of the players are already reported "missing". Off to greener pastures I guess ;)

wrong sport. gays are not allowed to play professional soccer ;)

also .. OMG france :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Can somebody tell me why France is getting so much heat in the media so much during this world cup? I was just on yahoo and people are slamming France left and right!

^ didn't you read/hear about the crap that their players pulled :) ?

Oh so they wouldn't practice or something? Is that why everyone is mad? I read the article but really didnt understand it. Just getting into this soccer stuff.:-)

But it seems everyone is blaming the country and not the team and I guess that's what I'm asking.

Mmmm... I think there're lots of closeted ones. They say Argentinean goalkeeper in Italy 90 was gay. And Pele, the greatest player ever, had his sexual debut with a man (which doesn't make him gay, but...)

But you're right, there aren't many (out)

So now we're having 4 matches a day!! Awesome! France deserved to lose due to all the mess the team is. I'm happy South Africa could at least celebrate this victory.

I'm happy with Uruguay's performance, I knew they were going to do well, but this is exceeding my previous expectations. No goals received yet. Mexico also deserved to go through, so I think the final standings of group A are very fair.

Just a note, South American sides haven't been beaten yet, and all of them are leading their respective groups. Let's see if Argentina continues with this trend today. They're 0-0 right now

the playerys are boycotting the coach. the team captain did not play. another superstar was kicked out because he called the coach a "son of a bitch", they are performing way below their level .. and and and

nah .. if we say "france" in this team we are too lazy to say "the french team"

Today at work I peeked at the scores.

I saw "France 0 - 2 South Africa".

Thought I must have seen it wrong, so I looked again.

It still said, "France 0 - 2 South Africa".

Adieu, les Bleus!... *wave* ..:p.

Taxi!
.À l'aéroport... vite! ..:rotflmao:.

Seems the hand of Henry couldn't help you this time...:shamrock.. ;)

LOL JakeLucas! It seems that you really enjoyed France's emilination. Me too! And probably many French guys also, it was becoming too embarrassing.

I'll attach two pictures I just saw on the internet which I think are amazing

This is Uruguayan goalkeeper Muslera, trying to get Mexico's shot which hit the horizontal bar.

This is not a great football picture, but it's worth sharing ;) Uruguay's captain Lugano takes his shirt off after the match......... And they say it was a cold night... hot people don't seem to notice that

tsk, tsk ..... :o

Where are my manners?.....!oops!

In my exuberant gloating over the loss by France, I forgot to congratulate Bafana Bafana for their win! :=D:

South-Africa-team-against-005.jpg

Just watched the repeat broadcast of the match, and what a match it was!

w0w! The score could have easily been France 1 - 5 South Africa!

I can only imagine the partying that is probably still going on in cities, towns and villages all over the country.

Long_Street,_Cape_Town,_Final_Draw_Party,_4_December_2009.jpg

These guys played and excellent match and certainly earned a lot respect.

The announcers were saying that 17 of the SA squad play for domestic teams. Wouldn't surprise me at all if a few of them get offers from teams in Europe and USA.

Nice pics, fed! Thanks!

Lugano is a hottie, isn't he? :D

I also forgot to congratulate Uruguay on their victory over El Tri. Uruguay goes through to the next round! :=D:
Though I didn't get to watch that match, I've heard it was a good one.

Yes, it's true that I'm exceedingly happy about France's humiliating and shameful elimination.

It's mostly because of how they got to the World Cup... a deliberate hand ball by Thierry Henry in their qualifying match against Ireland. :grrr:
