STAR WAR THREADS MERGED HERE (*May contain spoilers!*)

Re: Star Wars: Episode Vll

After skimming over the latest theories re: cast and storyline the SW megaheads have come up with this idea for what the filmmakers have in mind. To be fair it's WAY early days to know anything for sure until it's been officially confirmed but considering many are in agreement (again taking SW lore and all the books that cover much more than the 6 released films into consideration) apparently this would make sense, so I thought it was worth posting.

Episode VII (2015)
·Mark Hamill – Luke Skywalker.
·Harrison Ford – Han Solo
·Carrie Fisher – Leia Solo
·Anthony Daniels – C-3PO
·Peter Mayhew – Chewbacca.
·Kenny Baker – R2-D2
·John Boyega – Luke's student and chosen successor. Original Character with no Inspiration for the EU.
·Adam Driver – Jacen Solo/Darth Caedus. Was Luke's chosen successor.
·Oscar Isaac – New Republic/Galactic Alliance military. Possible love-interest for Solo daughter. Jagged Fel. Plays bigger role in next film.
·Andy Serkis – No idea whatsoever.
·Domhnall Gleeson – Skywalker son. Ben Skywalker. Plays bigger role in next film.
·Daisy Ridley – Solo daughter. Jaina Solo. Plays bigger role in next film.
·Max von Sydow – Old Republic/Galactic Empire military. Gilad Pallaeon. Unknowingly in league with Sith Lord.

Eh, we'll have to wait and see.

Re: Star Wars: Episode Vll

I didn't see the new cast/pre-production still that was released on JUB so I thought I'd post it. I think it's interesting given what the really hardcore fans are jizzing themselves over right now because of it.

Now I'm a pretty huge fan of the franchise (save Phantom Menace) but if I'm ever interested in finding the pulse of rumours and news it's best to go the the full on fans that have read everything about Star Wars lore etc. Places like theforce.net, etc.
Apparently there's a good chance that the storyline will focus heavily on what it was always meant to which were the characters of Jacen and Jaina, which are Han and Leia's children. Rumors are swirling that the young actress pictured in the photo talking to Carrie Fisher will portray the daughter and actor John Boyega will play the son.
Personally, I'm interested to see what roles Max Von Sydow and Andy Serkis will play? Sith, surely.

I thought it was cute that R2-D2 was included in their cast meeting. :)

Re: Star Wars: Episode Vll

^ Ha! that's exactly what I thought. All snuggled up there, ready to go.

Re: Star Wars: Episode Vll

I half expected to see C3-PO, Yoda and a Wookie sitting there too.

Re: Star Wars: Episode Vll

Well, C3 is there in the guise of Anthony Daniels, as well as Peter Mayhew, but unfortunately Yoda is no more. He's gone to a better place. A swampier place....the Dagobah cemetery.

Re: Star Wars: Episode Vll

I thought maybe they might try to introduce a "Yoda Junior" and Wookie Jr., since this one's going to center around the kids of the original cast.

I'm digging the beard.

I always thought it would be cool to have an older, wiser Luke Skywalker take on the mentoring role (à la Obi-Wan) to a new generation of Jedi.

And now it's coming true!
Plus for whatever reason for the bloated puffy red faced look in the other picture this Luke appears much more gracefully aged and wizened... definitely Mark Hamill's got the Jedi Master look going on now for sure!

Get over yourself trekker. I love how J.J. excluded Willy Shatner from the ST reboot.

Let's look on the bright side. They're going to make these films indefinitely...just like ST. And let's say--just like ST--many of these productions just very may well suck, but eventually they might produce one or two good ones...you know...kinda like ST.

Re: Star Wars: Episode Vll

I had most interest in JJA years ago with his early tv work. He showed promise. But gradually I realized he is a bit overrated and overused. He can seldom deliver a package which has contents worthy of its flashy wrappings. The Star Trek reboot was about the most impressive thing I see him do, I admit. Super 8 the worst.

Well, he produces, he writes and he directs--he's a dynamite.

I remember you once had to explain to me how Super 8 was like E.T. I didn't get it then and I still kinda don't. I'll explain it to you: I hate E.T., but I love Super 8.

Very little in common there.

If I were to name J.J.'s weakest link, I'd say Mission Impossible III.

Re: Star Wars: Episode Vll

^that creature's going to be an expensive and large addition to the Star Wars action figure line if one is produced

the "human" sized figures are only 3.75 inches tall

Re: Star Wars: Episode Vll

Whaaaaaat? That can't be right. They Probably meant Han and Leia. They're not going to make the hero from a brother-sister incest union. They'd put her with the wookie before Luke.

LOL

Or one of the little guys from the forest moon -- they liked her anyway.

Re: Star Wars: Episode Vll

saw a piece on Lupita N'yongo that said she was going to be in the new Star Wars movie- any idea who she'll be playing???

I've already donated, have you? The affordable premiums kinda stink, but that's not what it's all about, right? Right.
