Hot Topics is a Safe for Work (SFW) forum.

Suckinberg.

The cushion is very clearly fitted to the arms of the chair in addition to the size of the desk being disproportionate to the chair. I don't at all think this was a case of Zuckerberg being insecure about his height and requesting a booster cushion the way people seem to be interpreting it. I also don't think it was him participating in or winning some sort of insipid ego battle. It just looks like antique furniture kept for its historical significance with a fitted cushion to make things marginally more comfortable for people.

Mocking him for his height or his supposed insecurity is unjustifiable, but let's not counter-jerk too hard and pretend he's some wise and brilliant man for using a standard cushion that everybody uses when giving testimony.

The press reports did say that the seat cushion was provided to him by Congressional staff, so your observation about the cushion being designed for the chair is correct.

The whole spectacle of the hearings is a worthy target of satire.

Zuckerberg is 33. The pictures from the hearing make him look much younger. It was bizarre to see nearly 50% of the Senate sitting on one side of the room (most of whom were in the same demographic group as Zuckerberg's grandparents) with Zuckerberg sitting at an oversized desk all alone.

I've been to dozens of these hearings and I've watched hundreds. I've never seen one staged like this.

It was a faux pas. Usually, there's an advance person for those testifying that make sure that the staging looks good on cameras. Zuckerberg looks like a tiny boy in a room full of chaos. Maybe that was by design. Sitting on a ridiculously high seat cushion just amplifies that image.

At least his suit fits, though.

He's made billions deceiving the public into giving away all sorts of information about themselves. That information was used by a foreign country to attempt to deceive the American public. I don't think I've ever used this smiley, but it fits the situation: :-({|=

Look how many pictures people post on FaceBook without the permission of the subject. Then there are the pictures that people post of others that they have photoshopped in the name of humor. Much of it is just unkind bordering on cruel.
Why should the man who invented the media that encourages it be exempt from it?

There must be other available pictures of this cushion in this antique chair.

Question:
If Zuckerberg do not want to appear in front of anyone, can he do that ??

He's refusing to appear in front of British MP's, i think if he was British they could compel him to.

There's people here in this thread implying young David is going to a red hot poker up his skinny little arse.

That's just pent up sexual attraction run wild.

He's refusing to appear in front of British MP's, i think if he was British they could compel him to...

I don't know the facts but it reminds of that Leveson inquiry "Show Trial"* a couple of years ago when a particular super-capitalist mega-millionaire was forced to appear in front of the UK MPs (and they looked like a collection of slovenly failures who achieved nothing in their sorry lives).

That's his horny face? It's like he's begging you for sex with his eyes, to which the only sound answer is a resounding "Fuck no."

I don't know.... Toss him face down on a bed with a bag over his face...... All you really have to look at is his ass-crack. Once you start penetrating that you'll be looking at the bag on his head...... Tape a picture of the person you'd most like to fuck on it and you're good to go...

Damn you and your suggestive mental imagery, I damn-near spit my drink.

It is a lot easier to voluntarily answer questions than be compelled to.

There were thinly veiled threats of a subpoena (and it might have happened) but I can't find any confirmation. Although I found some statements that there 'might be' some secret ones involving the Russian investigation.

To answer your question directly, you don't HAVE to appear voluntarily but it's probably a good idea to say yes if you've been asked.

I said they are the party that said things like that. Which there are plenty of examples of.

But finding individuals who do not represent the party in any meaningful way doesn't make them representative. You can also find plenty of Democrats and Libertarians who are tax dodgers and frauds and realtors, but that doesn't make them representatives of the party.

They have to either be stating an endorsed position of the party, or exist in such numbers that they literally represent the party to a statistical significance.

In a nation of 350 million and with just two parties, you could find hundreds of bad actors in either party, still not representative.

Good point. Then that makes it an even cheaper shot, as it has nothing to do with anything, but again, about physical short stature.

it all just comes across as rank envy of his success, as he isn't particularly denying or lying or anything in his testimony. I don't have any admiration for him or think he's attractive, but I find the lampoons just a mob mentality and very small.
