Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

Just my opinion, but I don't think they are done with Lucifer. I mean he's just trapped back where he started. If that was the end of it then this whole series would be pointless. And I would be pissed.

And by the way, who is this "Mother," anyways? Is there some actual lore about her that I have never heard of?
if you have been watching the show at all, it is very clear who mother is. as for lucifer, with the introduction of lucifer, there is no need to keep his storyline going. this one stands by itself

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

Soulless Sam caused some unsettling reactions in my groin.

They hinted at her being the mother of all monsters, but there was absolutely no hint of who she actually was. (Thanks gayron, you must have an impressive knowledge of Greek mythology)

And isn't this the final season of Supernatural? I don't know about you, but I would be pissed if the battle they had been building up to throughout the entire series ended up with Lucifer being right back where he started. That's not exactly a satisfying ending. The death of Lucifer and all his demons would be much more satisfying.

It makes no sense for her to be anything else but the mother of all monsters. Especially when they hinted at it in the show opener, and you have a text almost laying it out for you.

I mean, I could be totally wrong, but it definitely isnt Lucifer, as the Lucifer storyline is dead and gone essentially. There really wasnt a great way to have simple humans kill off an arch angel. Hell, not even Cas was able to pull it off. And I dont think they were bold enough to bring God into a show like that. Even if it would have made for a better ending.

I personally hope they dont bring Lucifer back. It would do nothing but degrade this season as they havent even given a off color hint that he could return. Not to mention, the backtracking they would be doing. Lucifer sadly doesn't or gladly doesnt fit into this season.

Also, I must thank you as well gayron. I thought I had a good grasp on Greek myth, but I have never heard of her.

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

Umm... I said that they hinted that she was the mother of all monsters. I knew that from the moment they called her "mother" on the show. If you read my original question, I was asking if she was based on any actual lore (as in myths of gods and goddesses, etc.) from the real world, which gayron was kind enough to confirm.

As for the Lucifer storyline, how could they possibly be done with it when nothing has really happened yet? He got out and now he's back in. Wow, great story. So all those people died, including Jo and Ellen, just so the story could end up back where it started? He got out once, I'm sure he can do it again. Plus, let's not forget that Adam is still trapped in there. Do you think they are just gonna let Sam and Dean's brother just rot in the darkest corner of hell forever? And as for how they could kill Lucifer, they already said that he could be killed with an archangel's blade. They never said an archangel had to be the one using the blade. I don't think they are done with God or heaven either. I agree that they probably won't actually "show" God, but they already hinted that heaven kinda sucked, and it just seems to me like they were probably planning on building off of that in the future.

I think the whole Death/Lucifer/God/Heaven (and maybe /Mother) storyline is all going to be tied to this business about the power of the human soul that they hinted at.

Sam and Dean have kind of shown that they have little care for their other brother Adam. They aren't gonna fiddle with the gate to get him out. Especially when they barely had a conversation about him going in the cage with Sam last season.

Pulling out the Lucifer stroyline again would seem desperate to me personally. Heaven has moved on, hell has moved on. And the monsters could give two shits about Lucifer, and I doubt mother cares. They were angels, and I doubt either created her.

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

I dunno, that's just what I think. We'll just have to keep watching and see. :?

Does anyone know if this is actually the last season? Last season was supposed to be the last season, but they decided to come back for another. But I can't remember if they said this was definitely the last season or not...

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

Last night's episode was quite possibly the dumbest thing I have ever seen.

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

I liked Ruby for a while, especially Katie Cassidy, but Jared and his wife look a little weird together. Her acting was so bad and she looked not attractive as she usually does. I just don't see them as a real couple. Plus she's an idiot as a working actress to take his name.

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

Yes, The French Mistake, was by far the best episode of this dreadful season. I thought it would be stupid, but I laughed more that I do at many sitcoms. Loved Jared's body actions in the scene where they were trying to "act"; Jared didn't know what to do with himself while Jensen hilariously attempted his lines. Would've been nice to have seen Uncle Bobby in this other parallel universe.

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

Last night's episode was the BEST!

My favorite part was Misha Collins. He is just hilarious, and I'm going to lie, the part where he got killed was more comical than dramatic. I loved that episode.

The Arch-Angel.. Rafael.. is a woman?! Dang, It's cool to see a woman in charge, little stuff like that make the show's twist and turns a little more interesting.

As for those wings that we saw from Castiel, I orgasmed at them. He just looked so badass when he was standing there, EVERYONE was just looking, no words.

In retrospect, I remember thinking and hoping that Castiel becomes a Hybrid. 1/2 Demon & 1/2 Angel. But I dont see that happening.

I love supernatural, even with the sometimes crappy parts and shows. True fans stick through.

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

I thuroughly enjoyed this episode. Misha Collins is hilarious.

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

I love Misha Collin's so I too loved his line "Hola Mish-amigo's, J-squared got me good."

I like his Namaste shirt. When he had a role on Nip/Tuck as a yogi who could suck his own penis, he had "NAMASTE" tattooed on his penis. (Hilarious and very hot.)

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

Well Crowley's not dead. Not sure how I feel about that or how this season is warapping up. It was pretty lame how the Mother of All was taken out so easily. Especially when it took FOREVER to get rid of Lilith.

One thing I do love is how the writers have played up Dean and Castiel's homoerotic relationship. I remember mentioning this seasons ago and Falconfan said I was crazy for even suggesting there was anything btwn them. And Dean is 1000% straight.

I believe Dean is straight too. But I'm not sure about 100%. There is definitely an intense relationship btwn he and Castiel that they both acknowledge from time to time. I recall Cass even saying he and Dean shared a profound bound. And even others call Dean, Castiel's bf.

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

How they killed Eve pissed me off. She should not have went down that easy, she was older than most angels and far more powerful. :(

I'm not saying the ashes shouldn't have killed her, but to have her just bite him? I expected a lot more. :l

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

I was a little disappointed about the Mother of All's death too but maybe they're desperate to wrap the show and move on to finding Crowley and and dealing with Raphael?

And I just read that the show is being renewed for a 7th season and it's supposed to be more Dean-definitive? Not sure how I feel about that considering the past few seasons were practically all about him. Jensen Ackles and Jared Padalecki have signed on but I'm more interested in knowing if Castiel will be returning as well - so what if he's fan service, he's awesome - and if he is I hope that don't continue this "angel down a dark road" crap they're doing with him.

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

It was so all over the place. EVERYTHING was just a bad idea. Starting off the episode with Sam having no memory was so dumb. Not to mention him so easily getting back the pieces and limping his ass all the way to where Dean and Bobby were, was ridiculous.

And imo the whole angel war storyline was always pretty sloppily explained. I almost feel like they were trying to get the show cancelled. First Sam has no soul and the grandfather's back. There is a war in heaven btwn angels. Then they are lookin for the alpha of all the monsters. Then they want purgatory. Then Crowley's dead. Then the Mother of all is gonna unleash her monsters. Wait Crowley's not dead. Castiel n Crowley are working together to capture souls. Castiel double crosses Crowley to become a god? Fuckin stupid.

The only good parts were the homoerotics btwn Dean and Cass and Crowley calling Cass a bottom.

Re: Supernatural's back, baby!

Did they ever explain what happened to God? They said he was MIA, and that was pretty much it. I've never once heard them mention Jesus, Muhammad, Krishna, or Buddha. Surely, I would think at least Jesus would have stopped Castiel by now.

I thought Chuck was God in disguised? Or was he just a 'god' or prophet alone.

Annnd as for Godstiel...is there anyway he can revert back to Castiel? Godstiel creeps me out, lol. I guess because he's actually threatening his friends-- or Castiel's friends rather. I can't till this Fall to see we're they'll take this, as well as Sammy now remembering what Hell was like.
