Survivor 20: Heroes Vs. Villains [Official Thread]

This is the first time Russell ever did anything impressive in two seasons on this show.

I wasn't really impressed by Russell's move. Danielle is a sour bitch and if anybody from this season approaches Russell's catastrophic social game, it's her. If Russell had any game at all he should have been trying to get to the end with her and Candice or Jerri. He's now reached the point where any possible goats at his disposal are gone and he'd lose against anybody else in the F6.

He's playing just as badly as he did in Samoa. He's burned Coach, J.T. and Danielle on their way out now. And Courtney would never vote for him either. But who am I kidding, this is the guy who thought Shambo was a jury threat when her entire tribe hated her.

I loved this exchange from the preview:
Russell: "You're either with me or against me!"
Sandra: "I'm against you, Russell."

Sassy Sandra. <3 It makes me crack up that the biggest running joke of this season is her total ineptitude at any challenge whatsoever. "I'M TANGLED UP IN THE WEEDS!" "THAT'S THE ONE I SAID WENT IN THE CORNER!" "Sandra is completely stuck!" "I can't believe [I advanced through the first part of last night's immunity challenge]!" "Now how do I get down [from the second part of last night's immunity challenge]?!" And yet, she's still around and doesn't even have a vote to her name!

So when Russell went to the live finale of the Samao show, had he already taped Heroes vs. Villians? Thinking about it now, I guess he would have. So he never learned his lesson about the jury before going onto HvV. If he thinks that he is going to win, he's got another thing coming. Once again, the jury seems to hate him.

And what a sweet victory. Bitch Candice is gone. What a great move you did there last week by voting Amanda off. So stupid!

We know they had just wrapped this show when they had sunami warnings in Samoa. Samoa and HvsV were taped back to back so there is no way Russell knew he was going to lose Samoa, and is probably kicking his ass right now because he played the same aided game in HvsV and he knows it didn't work then and hopefully won't now.

The real contenders on HvsV is Pavarti and Sandra to me.

This season is UNBELIEVABLE !!!!!!

I'm thrilled and excited !!

Candice is gone FINALLY

And danielle got blindside.

Now sandra has the idol she's buddy buddy with the Parvativillainess, and I m looking forward to what's comin next !!

What do you guys think about that second clue Sandra found? We didn't really see any mention of it again; I hope it means she finds the idol and uses it to give the girls a majority next week essentially nullifying Russell's flip.

I THink sandra will use her idol only for her !!!

And that problly means that there will be no idol play until the end of the game coz sandra is right now in the best spot to go to the F3.

One thing tho, I've been spoiled before the show aired, but it seems like the spoilers have been wrong

I was confused about whether Sandra found the idol or not, it looked like a clue she found but they never focused on it again and we were not shown Sandra looking anymore. But in Jeff Probst blog, he said that Sandra found the idol, maybe she finds it in the next episode and he slipped up and spoiled it.

According to spoilers, Sandra did indeed find the idol in the last episode. And isn't that what she tried to hide in her pocket before claiming it was too bulgy? Maybe she threw it back into the grass, but she's the only one who knows that it's there if that's the case.

Apparently, in the next episode,
She'll try to offer it to Rupert, but he won't listen to her and she'll use it for herself, ensuring that Rupert goes home in sixth place.

Ekim, maybe you were looking at the wrong spoilers. The show has been completely consistent with the ones I saw at Sucks. Which means that the rest of the season should play out like this:

Sixth: Rupert
Fifth: Colby
Fourth: Jerri

The final three is Russhole, Parv and Sandra, and apparently Russell gets zero votes and the rest are split pretty evenly between the women with Sandra edging out the win.

I have to say i had no idea this show was still on till Yahoo said it will probably be cancelled. I watched the first season, a bit of the second, and a few episodes of the 3rd. The show really really was awful. The first season I enjoyed but the rest sucked. I was so disappointed. For those who watch, is the show better or is it still a pile of shit?

I can't speak for everyone else who follow this Survivor thread, but the reason I follow the Survivor thread is because I enjoy Survivor and watch it regularly for a reason, it is good entertainment. On this season, I didn't expect it to be as good as it is, but this has turned out to be one of the better seasons. Much better than previous all-star Survivors.

The show isn't in any danger of being canceled right now. It's still a top 20 (occasionally top 10, which it was in the last few weeks of this season) rated show and Survivor 21 and 22 have already been confirmed, so the show will be around until Spring 2011 at least. It consistently wins its timeslot unless it's against an American Idol results show for three weeks in the spring. I would also imagine that it's way cheaper to produce than most scripted shows that need a writing staff, actors, crew, etc.

American Idol, the #1 show in the US, got like 17 million viewers this week. Survivor got 13 million. It's hardly on its way out.

Slipintothefog, thanks for the spoilers. One question though (without revealing the finalists) how can the spoilers reveal how the final jury votes will be divided when the votes are read live on finale night? In other words, I can see how the boot list can be correct because it's already "happened" but the reading of the votes hasn't "happened" yet.

I realize jury votes could have been leaked, but those usually prove to be less reliable than boot lists. For example, I remember the spoilers for Cook Islands correctly foretold the first Final Three in Survivor history (and got the names of those three players correct as well), but the rumor was that Ozzy would win the jury vote, and much to my joy, that didn't happen. In other words, just because the spoiler boot list for this season is correct doesn't necessarily mean the rumored victor will be correct as well.

Unless there's something I'm missing? (For what it's worth, I actually think the rumor in this case could prove to be correct since it seems like the likely outcome in that F3 scenario.)

The final vote isn't revealed until the live finale, but based on editing and the spoiled final three, it is pretty obvious who the winner is. The winner of spoiled final two's/three's are usually assumed based on knowledge and editing.

Really? People ummm you do realize that the votes are A) videotaped B) Edited into the episode and C) removed and rearranged to maximize tension

Plenty of people know who has won this even if they weren't read to the contestants, so its incredibly easy for it to be spoiled.

The final vote spoilers could be completely made up for all I know. However, based on the editing of the season, I agree with TaggedGalaxy in that the winner is fairly obvious if you know the spoiled F3.

Between Russell, Sandra and Parvati, we already know that Russell has no chance in hell. He is playing the same game that he did in Samoa and the editing has made him look like Parvati's fool for most of the season.

However, the recaps have continuously pushed the Rob vs. Russell storyline and Sandra is now the only remnant from Boston Rob's alliance left to fight against Russell's trio. The editing is also doing a good job at showing how she's against Russell and the villains, along the with the moves she's made including getting Coach eliminated and trying to defect to the Heroes, but every time she hasn't been able to pull of the "victory" of ejecting Russ. She's being set up as the "hero" of the season in contrast to Russell and Parvati, who are OTT negative distractions.

Parvati before the merge was edited more like an obstacle than a player, but since the merge the editors have been doing a good job at highlighting her moves to showcase why she'll get 2nd and possibly come up only one vote short from winning. Parvati is shown as strategically sound and the dominant player in her alliance with Russell, but the story editing seems to be setting up that her association with Russell will be her downfall. Plus, she has come off a bit cocky in dealing with the heroes in comparison to Sandra, who was trying to work with them.

The end-game connections for many of the jurors have already been laid out for us. I would predict that the votes would fall like this:

Coach - Parvati. He wanted to get Parvati out before the merge, but it was because he respected her so much as a player, and likely much more than Sandra who was a coattail rider. Russell burned him on the way out, so he has no reason to vote for Russell.

Courtney - Sandra. This is pretty self-explanatory. She hates Russell. She likes Parvati, but she was in an alliance with Sandra and is more friendly with her.

J.T. - Spoilers say he votes for Parvati. He probably feels burned by Russell after giving him his idol, and between Parvati and Sandra, Parvati plays the flashier, more strategic game, and was the main force in getting him eliminated. Not really sure though.

Amanda - Could be either woman. Apparently Amanda and Parvati are not as close as the editing has made us think, and they haven't talked since returning from Samoa. Amanda also said in post-show interviews that she voted for the person who was most obviously against Russell. It seems like she votes for Sandra based on this.

Candice - Spoilers say she votes for Sandra. It would make the most sense from a storyline perspective since not listening to Sandra cost Candice her own game when the remaining Heroes voted her out in the next round.

Danielle - Parvati. This is as self-explanatory as Courtney voting for Sandra. She has no reason to vote for Russell since he was the major force in getting her voted out, and she wasn't in an alliance with Sandra for the entire game.

Rupert - Sandra. Obvious. Rupert has called Russell "garbage," etc., and he was the only Hero who really paid attention to Sandra's warnings. They also played together previously, and him not listening to her supposedly plays a major role in his elimination.

Colby - Spoilers say he votes for Parvati. Not really sure why. He is such a dud this season that he probably didn't even know why he voted for who he did.

Jerri - Sandra. Jerri has already revealed in Episode 3 that she hates Parvati and wants to punch her in the face. The link between her and Parv was Russell, who will likely backstab Jerri at the Final Four. Therefore, she votes for Sandra. Apparently Jerri was the deciding vote for Sandra according to the spoilers.

That's a terrific analysis slipintothefog and for the record, I completely agree with it (the Ponderosa videos -- check them out if you haven't seen them -- support your analysis as well). I was just making a distinction between the obviously correct spoilers in the boot list, and what is probably just rumor based on smart predictions for the eventual winner/final jury vote.

I'm hoping the spoilers for the winner are correct, although I'm really fine with either of the top two winning.

The winner spoilers were right last season for Samoa even though a lot of the people who analyze the edits of the players on Survivor Sucks thought it was going to be Mick because Natalie was so underplayed. At least the rumored winner has bigger part in the story of the overall season than poor Natalie did.

One thing I really like about the remaining players that has nothing to do with spoilers is that four of them are pre-All Stars players and only two come from seasons after All-Stars. Also, for once we're not going to have an Amber situation in which the least deserving player based on memorability/placement in the game/etc makes it all the way to the end and wins. Even though I don't like most of the guys, arguments could be made for why all of Colby, Jerri, Rupert, Russell, Sandra and Parvati were deserved to be cast. I mean, two winners (Parv/Sandra), the show's "biggest" Hero and Villain (Rupert/Russell... although, come on, they're really kidding themselves if they think Russell outranks Fairplay) and the show's "first" Hero and Villain (Colby/Jerri) are the final 6? That's pretty damn awesome.

It's such a major difference from the first All-Stars or BB All-Stars in which fucking Mike Boogie won when he shouldn't have been on the show to begin with. It's all your fault Dr. Will, you sexy beast! :(
