Survivor 20: Heroes Vs. Villains [Official Thread]

I think you're right and that's probably why Cirie did what she did (she's the best player of all time, so I have to trust her instincts) but I have a feeling she's still screwing herself over by letting the Amanda/James/Parvati contingent get one step further.

And I really hate that those three get to play together AGAIN. I mean is anyone in a better position than Parvati in terms of old-relationships? She's played with James/Amanda/Cirie, she's best buds with Amanda, AND she's played with Candice on her original season. And she's apparently met Courtney before the new season started.

Amanda is a loyalist fool. That loyalty will benefit Cirie because she's included in it. Had Cirie gotten the chance to axe James or Parv, who do not have a history of making stupid moves to advance people they feel indebted to, then I think Cirie would've taken it.

Tom/Steph/Colby's mistake was not trying to chop the head off the dragon. They're all still stuck on the preconceived muscle is important early on mindset. Heroes are stacked physically. That's not their problem. They can risk cutting James. They should've aimed that way.

Also I don't know why Steph was so shocked that they'd get rid of her 'over Amanda' Amanda goes on immunity runs. She loses on a regular basis. You may be more toned but she's got a better track record plain and simple.

You are 100% correct, and I should have seen that earlier. You'd think experience from previous seasons and the fact that they've lost TWO CHALLENGES IN A ROW to the Villains would have relieved the Heroes of the incorrect notion that muscular manly men automatically equals challenge wins. Every time James gets an undeserved crack at this game, people act like he's invincible even though he has always sucked at challenges. In fact, James has NEVER led his team to a challenge win and he's never won a single individual challenge. Not ever. And had Tom/Colby/Steph realized that and targeted him, you're right, Cirie might have taken the bait because 1) She did the same thing with Ozzy on Micronesia and didn't bat an eyelash and 2) She's Cirie.

Rupert would have also been a satisfying choice (for me personally, and for Cirie) and one Cirie would surely go for. Why oh why did Steph not aim for him since he was gunning for her anyway?

You're right about Steph's losing streak, but I wouldn't make much of Amanda's challenge wins. After all she beat the incredible challenge monsters of Denise, Todd, Courtney, Alexis, Natalie, Cirie and OK I'll give her PG (who at least won two challenges on her own) but still...that's not a difficult lineup to beat. At like anything.

I'm blown away at how even the editing is in Heroes vs. Villains after Survivor: Russell. The Russhole got an visibility rating of 3 (out of 5) which I think is a first for him in either season.

I'm finding it hard to get into the strategy aspect of the game because I read the spoilers, so I'm basically only watching this season for the people and their interactions. Thankfully, it's not all about Russell again, so I do have an actual reason to watch even though I knew Sugar was going last week and Steph was going last night. Once again, Cirie was the only true point of interest on the Heroes tribe, although James getting an OTT negative edit is great because I never liked that asshole. I also like Candice, J.T., Colby and Tom more than I thought I would, but I wouldn't consider myself a fan of any of them yet.

As for the Villains tribe, I love Jerri and I always have. The funny thing to me after watching last night's episode is that she was trying way hard to be positive in All-Stars and it didn't really work. This time she's just being herself and she's getting a positive edit anyway. Boston Rob going from a villain to an OTTPP family man is nice, particularly because he's getting more screentime than Russell at this point (LOVE). I wish Sandra got more face-time last night. Courtney is always awesome. Tyson and Danielle were completely INV.

I like this season so far but I really thought that the Villains tribe was going to be a glorious trainwreck with Sandra and Courtney fighting with Russell and Coach, Jerri being a super bitch and Boston Rob still acting like the Robfather. Instead, Coach is actually tolerable due to his alliance with Jerri, Sandra is buddies with Boston Rob (<3) and the Heroes are more dysfunctional than the villains. Is this bizarro world?

Need I mention Courtney winning an immunity challenge in China while James did not? Best. Outcome. Ever.

Nah, it's just proof that the Hero/Villain designations are random, pointless and often incorrect.

The best was when Jean-Robert (ugh) tried to blast her at the final TC for being weak and ineffective and Courtney -- awesome and unflappable as ever -- correctly reminded him that she won an immunity challenge and then capped it off with, "Which...I mean...did you ever win an immunity challenge?"

Love her.

Where are you reading these spoilers?

I agree with you about the Villians and Heroes. I thought for sure that the heroes would be a powerhouse, and just dominate the villians. I think the problem is that there are too many A-type personalities, and everyone wants to lead or make suggestions.

The spoilers were posted on Sucks awhile ago, while Samoa was still airing, and so far the spoiled boot order has been 2/2 right.

According to the same boot list that had Sugar and Steph as the first two,
...............Randy...............
should be next to go. Not a big loss.

The Heroes are only a mess because they started losing challenges. If the Villains lost they'd be a total disaster.

I'm trying to avoid spoilers this season, I know the whole season has been spoiled already and they are popping up everywhere but I'm trying not to read them. I knew Sugar and Steph would be the first two to go, and I know two of the people in the finals, other than that I don't know what else will happen and the boot order is. I might enjoy the season more that way.

I'm with you. I got spoiled last season because people wouldn't stop discussing spoliers and although I didn't actually read them it was very clear what they were referring to and it ruined the whole damn season. Everyweek I just got more and more bitter. I'm hoping the same doesn't happen this year even though I've already been spoiled for the end game.

TOo bad Steph had to go... honestly I was rooting for and even more after the 2nd episode. SHe might not be a good strategist but she's smart and she knew exactly what happened and did the right thing.

James ?? I never ever understood why they brought him back a second time. so now a third time ? that guy has nothing. No strategies, no brain, no gameplay. and what a douche he was with steph, thats lame. (oh yeah and a heroe having an emotional breakdown day 6 after 2 challenges lost out of 3... I LOL)

I thought I was rooting for the heroes, but after last ep, I feel ashamed for them. They supposed to be great players, but what's up ? they get rid of sugar, nobody think it's a mistake. Then they fight, and what we saw at TC was lame (but eh, they have THEIR EGO!!).
Now they don't think in the long run:
Amanda's got games with too many people (Cirie, james, Paravarti and so Russell...) and still they keep her around.

i don't get their votes since day 1, doesnt make any sense considering some of em are back for the third time ! They're supposed to know how it works !!

Russell being jealous: MOUAHHAHAHAH I love it

Oh and did anyone thought Rob's scene seemed overacted !! LOL

It looked like he was acting LMAO

Am I imagining things or does James have his tongue pierced? It certainly looked like it at tribal council when he wrote Steph's name.

I thought Rob's incident was genuine. His pain and tears seemed real to me. Acting out such a thing would do nothing to benefit him. He has so far been the best player this season, which really makes him a huge target. Making himself look physically and emotionally weak would only put a bigger target on himself.

As much as I am favoring Rob, I think his days are numbered. Everyone wants to be in an alliance with the devil. Rob is far from the devil in this game.

I didn't notice it, but I wouldn't mind if his lips were stapled. Ditto to Randy and Russell.

LMAO. It just seemed really funny and weird. James is such a "manly caveman", it was really surprising to see.

He's always been. Remember him and JP in China and how they pissed off Court by being sexist?
