Survivor 20: Heroes Vs. Villains [Official Thread]

It's such a major difference from the first All-Stars or BB All-Stars in which fucking Mike Boogie won when he shouldn't have been on the show to begin with. It's all your fault Dr. Will, you sexy beast! :(

Heh. Yeah. But I have to admit, everything prior to the awful finale made BB7 an awesome season for me, and one of the most riveting seasons of any reality show I've ever watched. I was constantly checking in every week on the live feeds and message boards to see if Janelle had pulled off yet another POV victory (and she did again, and again, and again). And there was something epic about watching Will play a phenomenal game, using all of Big Brother's weaknesses as his strengths -- the best way to play BB is NOT to play, winning HOH is more trouble than its worth, keep the crossfire between the big players going while throwing casualties in the middle, get to F4 with a strong ally and two chicks who hate each other -- and he came within a reasonable inch of winning for a second time, only to be felled by Chilltown's own secret spy and floater-queen Erika, whom he had been silently trying to evict for most of the season (sole vote against her over Diane, tried to get George to backdoor her, broke his finger trying to win F5 POV so he could evict her, tried to get Janelle to do it at F4). And oh yeah, she did it by turning his own gun on him i.e. the blond chick he kept in the game one week too long.

If pretty much anyone but Boogie had won, it would have been a flawless season.

Survivor came in #5 for the 18-49 demographic for last week's double boot, only placing behind American Idol (both days), Glee and Big Bang Theory, and it placed #8 overall for the week. It got 13.06 million viewers, making it the highest-viewed episode since the premiere, and doing better than almost all of Tocantins and Samoa's episodes.

Very cool to see Survivor climbing back up the ratings again. I just hope the casual viewers don't claim that Russell was "robbed" after he loses this season.

Don't you guys feel this season went by really fast? Especially the merge, I can't believe it's almost over :(

And then 4 months off til Nicaragua

Yeah, I hate that the merge was so sort, especially because Sandra took such a backseat to Boston Rob for the pre-merge section. They could have given us an episode during March Madness but it would have been a recap if they did that, so the merge was always going to be fast unfortunately.

^ I also think the episodes should be longer. If The Celebrity Apprentice can drag on for two hours, Survivor can at least push 1.5 hours...30 for reward, 30 for immunity, 30 for plotting. I just feel that due to editing we miss quite a bit.

Celebrity Apprentice and Biggest Loser both get two hours because NBC's schedule is a graveyard and those are two of the few hits they have, whereas CBS has more than just Survivor. Anyway, I wouldn't want two hours in every episode because it starts to become a chore to watch something that long on a weekly basis. I used to love the Biggest Loser until every episode was two hours long and packed with filler. And I can't watch all of a Celebrity Apprentice episode even though Cyndi Lauper brought the laughs because it's just too dragged out.

30 minutes per challenge with two challenges per episode sounds especially horrifying to me. That's an HOUR of challenges per episode, yikes! I always space out for the challenges unless it's trivia (and I'm really sad that HvV hasn't had a trivia challenge yet considering both ASS and FvF had one), an auction (because those are fun) or one of those challenges that reveal the dynamics of a tribe.

 Russell is such a crybaby. I would have picked the same two people that Jerri did just because they're PLEASANT, rather than obnoxious and/or a wet blanket like the three guys are. Love the three women.

I was just thinking how Russell didn't know yet the outcome of Survivor Samoa during H v. V. He probably thought that he had it in the bag and the final vote would have gone his way. And seeing how he played the same strategies in this game, he is probably thinking he has this one in the bag too at this point. No wonder his very upset reaction at the last finale. He just realized that he had lost both Survivors because he played them the same. He never understood the all important social element that is needed to win. I'm thinking he won't look as surprised in this finale on Sunday when he loses again.

But he will once again probably win the fan's favorite.

God, I hope not. I don't think I can take another season with Russell as the fan favorite to stroke his "I WAS RAWBED" ego again. Even Rupert would be a better alternative. He got eliminated right before the finale, so it is a possibility. Honestly, I don't know who will win the fan fave vote this season if not Russell though. All of the previous fan faves got voted out early on, like Cirie and Steph, or had radical editing changes: Colby's a useless lump, Rupert is bland and irrelevant, James is ONE VOICE!, JT was edited like some evil mastermind for the first half of the season, etc.

Of course, my ideal would be Sandra, but I don't think she is popular with the casual fans at all. Maybe she can land in the top 3 due to the over the top tears regarding her mother and husband tonight? I'd love that!

Everyone go vote for the Survivor of the Season. You get 10 votes, you need to register (but it gives you a chance to win $10k). Vote before 5/16/10 at 11:59:59 AM PT. I just voted (for Rob). He probably won't win, because America has a short memory.

I'd like Sandra or Pavarti to win fan fav, but to sign up and vote you have to give your tel # and I am not giving that out to a company that might pester you to death with possible surveys.

Good Ep not very surprising tho !!!!

Russel needs to LOOSE hardcore !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Paravti deserves it, I'd love to see Sandra get it, and I would love to see everyone's face if Jerri won it, which I don't think she will.

God I didn't even think about the stupid Fan Favorite prize (they really need to stop giving those away. NOT ONCE has it ever gone to anyone worth a damn). I bet even with the editing that shows what an outplayed buffoon he was this year, Russell will still win it handily. America is that dumb.

I could have sworn Cirie won Exile Island's, but then I looked up the season and apparently they didn't HAVE one that year. Same for Yau-Man and Fiji... that is lame.

Well, Keesha won BB10's prize over that awful old man Jerry, that's something.

Just read Kensei's reply and Jerri winning the fan fave prize would be the most hilarious thing ever considering she got booed off the stage at the ASS reunion. I love Jerri but that would never happen.

I would love it if Jerri won or was at least in the top three. Didn't Cirie win a car that the fans voted on? It wasn't $100,000 but it was still a fan favorite prize. Unfortunately Russell will win it which is annoying, I would rather see freaking Rupert win than Russell. I just can't understand the minds of people who vote on these shows, I never agree with the general public.

I just meant Survivor. Keesha winning was AWESOME because it meant the three best players that season all got the top money prizes (Dan for first place, Memphis for second, and Keesha with the jury prize) and it was a nice "Fuck you" to April.

Didn't Cirie win a car that the fans voted on? It wasn't $100,000 but it was still a fan favorite prize.

You may be right, I don't remember. I should have been clearer: I was just referring to the "Rupert" prizes on Survivor ($100,000 or more). Cirie is by far the best person on Survivor that America has ever liked, and even then America abandoned her seasons later for the likes of James. Blech.
