Survivor 21: Nicaragua

I don't know if you could control Jimmy T. His headstrong ego was in his own way, and his constantly voicing that he could do it better didn't hold in the siv since he really was lousy in the last challenge, and immediately had excuses for why he was lousy. His excuses were lousy and have been but he could not see that at all.

Jimmy T is very similar to Coach. I think he'd be fairly easy to control with some simple ego stroking and impossible to loose against should you wind up taking him deep. Just let him think he's the 'leader' and you can ride him. I mean Marty clearly played off the complex intentionally nominating Tyrone for a leadership role so he could avoid it and at the same time create tensions between Tyrone and Jimmy.

Naonka is a horrible and unpleasant person (her rivalries with Kelly and Fabio have amounted to her hating and being a bitch to them on the spot, with them not doing anything to her), she's right up there with Russell and that means everyone should be trying to take her to the end. Maybe Brenda realizes that? Either way, I don't think Brenda should have told Chase about the idol just yet. She was in between two good allies and could have kept that secret until absolutely necessary. If Chase blabs it to anyone else and Naonka gets wind of it, she's exactly the kind of volatile bitch who would hold that against Brenda, game chances be damned.

SO glad Jimmy T is gone.

Thus far I like Brenda, Marty and Tyrone, and I could maybe like Chase and Jill.

While I don't disagree that Brenda maybe should've kept a lid on it I don't know id NaOnka can get rid of Brenda. I mean at this point she's become so coarse and disagreeable that it seems impossible for anyone to want to get rid of someone like Brenda, though Alina and Kelly B have already proven intelligent enough to realize that Brenda is a big threat but after NaOnka has made life so unlivable will they forget as much? I wonder if the others would see a falling out between Brenda and NaOnka as chance to get rid of Brenda or NaOnka? Bren obviously has Chase under her thumb hte only thing we've heard about Other Kelly all season was when Brenda said she could get her to vote for Shannon so they're close maybe? Sash has been presented as NaOnka's closest ally but they can't be that close as NaOnka clearly felt closer to Brenda.

Honestly NaOnka might be easy to beat but I don't think she's worth dragging to the end. If Russel proved ANYTHING last season it's that if your goat is too volatile they can take you down, I mean he may seem like an easy win but he sunk his own ship and took down Parvati and Daniel with him.

I'm thinking Marty goes out pre merge he is getting so much camera time, kind of like Boston Rob last season, or he could be a Russell and goes far no matter how much camera time. Previews showed Marty ending up on La Flor. Brenda and Chase get separated, I wonder how that will affect Brenda's game, with her number one ally on another tribe and Marty being on her tribe. Brenda is my pick to win it but hopefully she won't be screwed over by this switch.

I just don't understand how Marty could go home until next week with that idol. Unless both he and NaOnka play the idol. I think Brenda will be fine. She's not isolated herself. She's athletic enough that no one will see the need to drop her for being weak and because she's a female she's not going to be intimidating to most people.

If I could pick three players on each tribe whom I think can go far in the game (and toward the end), here they are:

Young People
Benry — The quiet player. One may have the feeling that we're not going to see, for weeks, whether he's intelligent enough to figure a path in getting toward the end.
Brenda — She's a real player. I have the feeling she is pretty flexible, and would know enough to turn on Naonka and Chase if put in that position. Risky, yes. But smarter than the other two.
Sash — May be cutthroat, but doesn't put his game out there in front of everyone. Earlier suggestion of securing Final Five for all minorities is amusing. If it happens, it's entertaining and memorable. If it doesn't, he should still go far.

Old People
Jane — As a dog trainer, she's disciplined. Wonder if she catches on to who to trust and who not to? I'd suggest she ally with the the next two people on this list. (And for more commentary, read "Questionable People.")
Tyrone — He already sees through Marty. And he seems smart enough not to be too quick to strike. So, I have the feeling Tyrone is an instinctive player. He's physical. But he's also smart.
Yve — Loved her assessment of Jimmy T. That she saw him as a big kid, and that she too has kids (and doesn't count on them that much). Meaning, she may be already deciphering with whom she could go far.

Questionable People
Alina — Needs a tribe reconfiguration; otherwise, she is low on the totem pole.
Kelly B. — May be doomed because of others' insecurities. If tribes get mixed, she'll have to target original tribe foes.
Naonka — Seems like a combo show-off and psycho. Is she leading on strategy (which she doesn't have)?
Marty — Early on, he seemed real smart in assessing what needs to happen. But laying low may be something he doesn't measure up in doing.
Jill — Selected Marty to be a partner. I think she should hook up with Jane and Yve if Marty doesn't work. Interesting thing is, Jill doesn't seem passionate on leading. Willing for Marty to do so. Passivity can work. But is she smart in a way to know how to work it?

About Survivor 22:

- It was supposed to be Rich vs. Russell

- They changed it to Rob vs. Russell and then they would do a pick em between past contestants but they were worried about pre game alliances so they scratched it.

And this girl:

is a contestant

^ Not a huge surprise... She was on the last season of the Amazing Race, so....

Aratron, are you saying they scratched the Rob vs Russell idea entirely, or just the part where they let them pick from past contestants?

And "opposite marriage" lady? Ugh. The stunt casting on this show needs to stop.

Where is this information coming from. Most if not all of it seems highly unlikely to me.

I don't think that she was the dumbass on the AR. I think that was Miss S C who answered a question about geography and such.

If the posting here are true then Survivor really does need to take a good look at itself.

Just the part where they let them pick from past contestants. The twist has something to do with Redemption Island, where supposedly, people voted off have a chance to return to the game

From the same person that spoiled Samoa and HvV correctly, here

After last week was a bit of a snore, I think the show is back on track again. The tribal switch was kind of needed to prevent the rest of the pre-merge being "Marty has delusions about his leadership role" and "Na'onka talks trash about Kelly Bruno's artificial leg."

Benry exists! And now I know why they've been ignoring him. He really must have been giving the editors some garbage material, because most of his screentime in this episode was bland narration. Looking at his pre-show interviews, I definitely think he was cast with the expectation that he'd be a total douchebag, but in reality he is just a nice but boring challenge whore so far.

I really like most of the women still left in the game and Holly, Kelly B. and Brenda are probably my favorites overall. Alina has been more likable in the past couple of episodes, and even Na'onka was much more tolerable this week now that she was forced to stop her one-sided rivalry with the leg. Jane is kind of cool too.

I also maintain that a woman will win this season because we're already down to six men and the remaining ones have terrible edits if one of them is going to be the winner. Dan, Benry and Sash have been far too UTR. Marty has been shoved down our throats. Chase and Jud both have been depicted as morons. More or less, I will be very shocked if any of them win.

This so far has been the least enjoyable Survivor for me out of all 21 seasons. The first four weeks were a waste of everyone's time and frankly is not surprising that a tribe of older people got dominated by a tribe of younger people. No doubt tonight's reorg was a much needed intervention. The medallion of power was a joke and did nothing to change the game's dynamic, so glad it's gone from the show already. And the cast is just not clicking with me. Usually by the fourth week, I know who I really hate and who I really like. Right now, I don't really care either way. I think the main problem is how controlled the game feels now, as each season the producers find more ways to control it. Of course I'll continue to watch, after 10 years of being loyal, it's kind of hard to just stop now.

Well I am getting to like Judd (Fabio) a lot. Benry is so easy to look at, and Chase is not bad either but Chase gives me jeebies.

I like Holly and Jane and while everyone else did not like Alina, I did.

This was a fairly decent episode, enjoyable if not terribly exciting.

I don't like Nay at all.
