Survivor 30 - Worlds Apart -

This season is such a cock tease. Every week I think something is going to flip and Shirin will get the upper hand and every week it fizzles out. Despite ALL that drama...Jenn got voted out. Which means since the merge we've had the same result as if the dominant alliance had stayed together with no fights and no cracks and just voted out Hali, Joe and Jenn one by one. I just don't get why Dan and Sierra didn't Mike/Jenn/Shirin to take over the game. It was the perfect opportunity. Even if they think Mike is too big a threat to go to the end with, they'd have ample opportunity (and still maintain their majority) if they got rid of him at F7, and after he won immunity this week anyway, there was no reason not to go along with that plan. The only way this vote makes sense for Dan & Sierra is if Dan plans to use his extra vote next week in an alliance with Dan/Sierra/Mike/Shirin.

Although Shirin getting the immediate chance to stick it to Will at the immunity challenge was GLORIOUS.

Will's rant was the single most disgusting thing I have ever seen on television. And then when Shirin explained exactly why his comments hurt her so badly he still stands by his comments. He's probably the worst person who has ever played Survivor.

Shirin is a better person that I am, because when Will "offered" to give up immunity for his letters, would've laughed in his face all, "Like YOU were going to win immunity anyway Lard Ass?"

^ what you said. And don't forget Dan's little speech to Shirin in the water a couple or so episodes back. What a bunch of true jerks are playing this game. My outhouse group is Rodney, Dan, Will, Carolyn, and Mike.

On the plus side, if Shirin reaches finals, the jury is building for her. I think the 3 on the jury now would vote her over most of the other players.

Joesman beat me to it. Shirin now has THREE guaranteed votes on the jury.

GET IT GURL.

Exactly. And my hatred for Mike is growing with each episode. I can't believe he didn't want in on the letters from the loved ones. AND Dan picks the white rock!!! I wish Rodney or someone else besides Mike had gotten it.

GO SHIRIN !!!!

I actually didnt like the episode coz it got too ugly. Rodney is a crazy lunatic yelling at everybody, will's comments about shirin were ugly and mean, eveybody laughing at the situation was ugly, Jenn voted out was ugly...

I like when they play hard but not when they get personnal and they were actually very personnal towards shirin.

I was surprised when I saw that Mike and Shirin had voted for Jenn. With the split votes and knowing they probably didn't have Dan's vote, they thought they would protect Shirin?

I don't get why everyone is going with Rodney. He is a thug. Will is just plain nasty trash.

Ciara (is that how it is spelled) is a dumbarse. She has had so many chances to change the course of the game. Now she will be collateral damage.

Sierra, :)

Intriguingly, Sierra seems to be spending a lot of time with this group in real life. I hope it bodes well for either a flip next week or Shrin votes on the jury if she can get to the end.

As we keep going along, I'm really starting to think that Shirin does win. There's been so many awful comments about women this season, and just about everybody looks like an asshole this season except for Shirin, a woman, who has also been fleshed out with touches of humanity like a) being bullied in high school for being different and b) having her home life torn apart from domestic abuse.

They've also sufficiently foreshadowed a) Shirin getting to the end via Dan's "I can't wait to see your torch go out"/Shirin's "I still think that I CAN go to end by taking big risks" b) the No Collars and now Mike being on Shirin's side and c) Sierra wanting to screw over the Blues who she hates, only to keep drawing back...

So if she wins, I'm thinking Shirin over Rodney and one of Dan/Will, 5-3, with her getting Joe, Jenn, Hali, Mike and Sierra?

I guess it's also possible that she's just Mike's distraction, but I'm a little more okay with the idea of Mike winning after the last episode where he was the only one out of seven people to try to help Shirin from an obnoxious Will. That shit totally gave me flashbacks to the BB13 Jeff/Kalia fight were like six other people in that HOH room sat smirking while Jeff ridiculously exploded at Kalia.

Also, my greatest hope for next week is that Shirin pulls out a miracle immunity win a la Jaclyn or Abi-Maria and Mike hangs his hidden idol around his neck at Tribal all, "Come at me bro!" while the other side panics.

That would be the best Tribal in years. And yeah, I can't believe I'm OK with Mike winning now, but there you have it. Although yikes, he sure looks PeePaw in that photo Sierra tweeted doesn't he?

For what it's worth, Parvati stated emphatically in her Hollywood Reporter column that Will and Shirin can't win. Of course, she's not paying any attention to editing like slip is. Let's hope her predictive powers aren't as good as her gameplay.

I don't think either Shirin or Will, should they make it to the Finals (with a Final Three), can whip up the votes to win. They would have to go with Sierra … and that's how Sierra would win. Will has never had any strategy. Had he any thought, he would have had consideration for what his voting out his original No Collar tribe mates would mean (for his game). Shirin is one of those players who just didn't blend well … and that is like an anchor around one's waist.

Shirin's elimination stings even more because she had a great 1 in 3 chance of winning immunity, but she blew it. That she lost to old hag Carolyn who isn't good at challenges and who hates her, just made it worse. I guess Tyler wins now and his New Colossus/Survivor speech was the only foreshadowing we had?

The real winner this season has been the editors, not just fooling some of us (including me) into thinking that Shirin had a chance, but also fooling many into thinking that more was happening each week other than a Pagong-ing. I said this in a previous post, but with the exception of Kelly's boot at the merge, every single boot has been the same as if the dominant alliance had stayed together and just voted out the minority alliance: Hali, Joe, Jenn and now Shirin. The editors have given us enough smoke and mirrors to make us think more "game" was happening, but really every single TC has been a cock-tease for the viewer.

And the editors also did the impossible by getting me to root for Mike.

My Bae was SO CLOSE to winning immunity!!

Fearing for my Bae in next episode. He's clearly going off the rails if he wants to be voted out. He should have taken Dan's offer and gone on the reward with them and strategize some more there.

I'll never root for the devils Mike and Will, although it seems like M is unstoppable. Also, should have just given Shirin the idol like he promised. Backstabber!!

God I hate that guy so much. My hatred for him grew this episode. Never liked him from the start. Will never like him.

Also, Will is still in. I fear he's the Muffin/Missy this season. Dragged to the end. He should have been out long ago, especially after he did to Shirin.
