This is a tad late, but it's my opinion on a twist that I don't really see as unfair, but what I see it as is creating fresh television and less predictable outcome for a show that could easily become predicatable... I think that PG and Jaime made a smart move, even though Frosti and Sherea totally gave them the cold shoulder. They're pushing themselves forward in the game and honestly, I would vote out the strongest people first. I would've done the same thing! Who cares if the weak people thrive and make it to the end? They outsmarted you and sometimes brains prevail over brawn, but we have seen brawn come through on Survivor and that season was totally boring (Exile Island). What PG and Jaime did made better television... It's taking them further, they're playing the game and they aren't riding coat tails and letting others do all of the plotting for them, they used their heads. Who cares if they threw a challenge to get further? It's better than letting their original tribe get completely wiped out.
Oh and why didn't people get angry with Ozzy from Cook Islands? He threw a challenge for no reason at all, just to get rid of Billy. Sure Billy was annoying, but was that fair for him? No it wasn't especially because Ozzy did it for absolutely no reason. PG and Jaime strategically threw a challenge. They had a reason to do it, while Ozzy didn't, but Ozzy is the loveable fan favourite from Cook Islands. So I guess it's alright.
Oh well. That is the beauty of Survivor... the second you think you have the game figured out it gets flipped upside down so it's LESS PREDICTABLE, which is why this show is one of the best reality shows on television!
All I hear is people bitching and moaning about this twist. If you don't like it, I seriously don't get you... You must be new to watching the show, because the exact twist happened in Africa. I just think people handled that twist a lot better than this twist. Oh well, let people get angry about a reality show... I'm quite entertained and I am a fan of PG and Jaime.
Tonights episode was good... Sherea went home, which was bad for me because I liked her too. She was pretty good at challenges and she could have been a threat... I don't see why Fei Long didn't vote out Frosti, who knew about the idol, while Sherea didn't... Or Jean Robert. The man could easily flip on Fei Long.
I love Frosti. I hope he can make it to the end. He's my favorite player right now - adorable!
Also in the preview it looks like Jamie and Eric have the immunity idol.... wtf? How on Earth does that happen if James knows exactly where it is?
I think they will steal it
Yeah I have a feeing the previews were misleading. The only other thing is maybe they "found" it on James and then decided to find the second one for themselves. OR maybe James stupidly shared this info with them. He may do that because he may be uncertain how his old tribe feels about him after not losing that Immunity challenge.
That probably is what happened.
Either way this was an incredibly stupid move by Todd. I think he likes to think of himself as a mastermind moreso than actually being one. His plan was more complicated and flashy than really being tricky/smart. Remember at the end of Huckleberry Finn when Tom Sawyer shows up and ruins an otherwise good novel? Jim could easily be saved (and Tom knew all along that his mistress had released him) but Tom decides to withhold that information and execute a convoluted, superfluous and cumbersome rescue plan that ends up making things more dangerous for all of them, and winds up getting one of the boys shot. What's my point? Little boys with elaborate fantasies are not the best at executing strategic adult plans. Leave that to the level headed adult who can do a quick cost-benefit analysis to protect your ammunition and your allies, and deliver the best blow to your enemy. Adults like Yul.
Todd could just have easily kept the HII and told James THEY (Todd's team) would throw the Immunity challenge and vote Sherea off. That way, James would still be safe, they would STILL lose someone from the opposing original tribe (which is exactly where they are now) and Todd would still have the HII. I wouldn't have even alerted James that there might be a second one. Now, instead of being in that exact position with the idol ammunition in tow, Todd has lost the HII and the one guy capable of blowing through every Individual Immunity challenge post-merge, will probably have TWO idols.
STUPID, STUPID move on Todd's part! When exactly does he imagine they will get rid of James? A guy like James could win every competition until the end and it usually only requires one loss to boot him. Now James can save himself TWICE with the idols. He's making it to the end, and Todd should know Jean-Robert is James' ally. James is definitely not taking likable Todd with his multiple friends on the jury to the finals. Why should be? He'd be stupid to do that. No, he'll take disgusting Jean-Robert so he (James) can win with a unanimous vote.
If Todd really wanted to be elaborate (but productively so) he could have flipped Frosti as they easily did by sharing the HII secret with him, and then win the next challenge so the other team would get rid of James for him. That way, Todd would still have the majority votes post merge (with Frosti and perhaps even Sherea in tow - hello? Any superficial read of her shows she's not all that close/chummy with her original tribemates. She was the first one out had that team stayed together and lost an Immunity challenge), he would still have his HII and he would have gotten rid of the potential Individual Immunity Hog. Hell Aaron was already gone so the only other potential Individual Immunity threat would be Jean Robert (and just barely) and it would be VERY easy to get rid of him what with everyone hating him and all. Now it will be almost impossible since Jean Robert is aligned with James who could easily 1) give JR one of the idols should talk of booting him ever come up 2) win Immunity and give JR the Immunity necklace should talk of booting him come up, while threatening to use the HII if they try to boot James instead, forcing them to turn to another victim and hey, James won't even have to use his idol. Yes, if James finds the second idol, he could use the threat of it (as Yul did - a strategy that proves to be far more effective than playing the idol itself one time) to secure himself and JR for the long haul.
THAT'S how bad Todd's move was. Have we learned nothing from Mookie? NEVER give an idol away.
I am hereby nicknaming Todd as Todd Sawyer.
Colby was the strongest competition. He just got fucking stupid at the end and gave Tina the million dollars.
I think Jamie/Erik are just looking at Jame's idol. I think the rules are you can't steal it though. That's why Alex/Mookie threatened Yaoman instead of stealing it.
James has both idols.Getting rid of him earlier would also be a good idea, since James has one of the idols.
Although Todd was STUPID for letting James have both idols, he is smart for trying to blindside James and get rid of the 2 idols and the strongest competiter at the same time. They all should be trying to get rid of James as soon as possible now that they all know he has 2 idols. What are they going to do, wait until they take James to the final 5 and then he uses both idols 2 weeks in a row? He'd win the final immunity and win the game since they all like him. There are only 9 people left, the longer they keep him, the harder it is to get rid of him. Amanda and Courtney are stupid for not seeing it. I think Courtney is just doing that to disagree since she's mad at Todd though. I want James gone just for the entertainment of the show. He's too powerful with the 2 idols and being the strongest competiter. It's not fun watching if the prize is handed to someone.
Falconfan, I know you want PG/Erik gone as soon as possible for getting rid of Aaron but they're only 2 people. They are way outnumbered and can easily be picked off right after James.
I don't really hold anything against Jamie/PG/Erik anymore, they were just playing the game. They were stupid to think James would work with them at that time though.
I'm wondering what PG's "Power Play" is. I think the 5 people are her, Erik, Frosti, James, Jean-Robert. If not then it's her, Erik, Frosti, James and Courtney.
