Survivor - Fans vs. Favorites

After tonight's episode, Purple Brenda officially has the worst edit for anyone ever on Survivor... She broke Purple Kelly's record of the longest streak with no confessionals AND won immunity! Get it girl!!

^Who is purple kelly? Really. Everyone references her, I don't have any idea who it is

Can someone explain what happened tonight with Malcolm's vote? I thought his plan was to split the Stealth votes 4-4, and then have 5 votes against Andrea (Malcolm, Eddie, Reynold, Michael and one of Dawn/Sherri)? But instead, it looks like he was voting against Reynold to cover his true alliance, and just have Reynold play the idol so Andrea would get bounced anyway?

Confirm anyone?

Actually he thought that Phillip's speech was directed at him and he got paranoid about the vote and when Reynold got up to play his idol Malcolm sort of played Reynold. That speech he gave to Reynold was convincing enough but as seen it confused everyone else. What should have happened in the voting got screwed by Malcolm and his errant vote. (That is why no one should ever listen to Phillip.)

She was a member of Brenda's alliance in Nicaragua and was infamously punished for quitting the game by not existing on the show at all until her quit episode (where she quit along with Na'onka). She's known by many on the Internet for having the worst edit of any contestant ever but Courtney actually had a statistically worse edit in HvV, and so did Whitney in South Pacific. She got her first confessional in episode seven and that was the only one she received until her quit episode, and they actually spliced up a conversation she and Chase had to make it seem like he was commenting on the fact that she never spoke.

And now, Brenda is even more invisible than her. It's sad but kinda funny too. My boyfriend and I are always commenting on how Brenda might actually speak(!!!) this time whenever we watch a new episode.

I understand that he thought Philip and the Stealths were voting for him and got Reynold to give him his idol, but why did he vote for Reynold? That part doesn't make sense. If he believed he was in danger and got Reynold's idol to cover himself (and keep his own idol for later) then he should've voted for Andrea since (in his mind) the votes for him would be nullified and Andrea would go home.

I think he might have thought there would be votes against himself and Reynold and chose to throw Reynold under the ever slithering snake they use incessantly at tribal.

Is it just me or is Cochran totally getting a winner's edit?

that's exactly what I thought too !!
I was so excited bout this tribal council but nothing really happened.

Malcom is annoying, i cant stand him, he's kind of cocky but at the same time really scared bout anything. I liked him in his previous season but he looks like a jerk in this one.
Andrea is def playing hardcore. but why was she so scared of bein voted off and so surprised ? I mean, this IS the game andrea. She's problly too confident. but Im' quite suprised with her overall startegic performance. Dawn is quite the suprise too.

At this point I really cant tell what's gonna happen in the following weeks but Cochran (based on the editing) seems like a potential winner or at least in the F3 / F2.
There's no chance for Brenda (even with the winning challenge) to ever make it to the final (still based on the editing)

I would love to see a Brenda / Erik / sherri / cochran counter alliance with a Brenda Vs Sherri Vs Erik F3 and a Brenda win.

My dream F3 would be Brenda/Cochran/Andrea, with Brenda winning (even though I know that's not happening).

Oh and I like to think of Corinne and Philip as the Nikki Minaj and Randy Jackson of Survivor.

^I approve of this sentiment and GIF.

Jeff is on his knees ready to blow Cochran for not sucking at challenges even faster than the judges on Idol start giving Angie oral just for sneezing. So, yeah.

EW: Wow, this badass performance by Brenda in the immunity challenge was really the first we’ve even noticed her this season since we have barely heard two words out of the woman. What’s surprising about that is that she was considered the big breakout character from her previous season of Nicaragua. When you guys started putting these episodes together, were you surprised at how little she kept popping up?
PROBST: This season has been really tricky because we’ve had so many stories dominating the tribes. First we had Shamar, straight out of the gate being argumentative and then evacuated. Then we had Brandon with a somewhat similar story. All along we’ve had Phillip as the leader of Stealth R Us taking up a lot of screen time. So it’s really an issue of real estate in the show. I think you can always argue that we don’t include enough people in the stories and it would always be a fair argument. We love Brenda and though she has been quiet, she is still in the game so more opportunities to hear from her are coming!

Also, lol. Because Shamar was ever even on a tribe with Brenda.

I am still a fan of Malcolm - and yes I don't understand his Reynolds vote either. Maybe it was just the editing, but if Eddie hadn't opened his mouth to Andrea, the favorites would have voted for Malcolm. And then his great move of getting the idol from Reynolds would have been one of the greatest moves ever.

I found the episode and the vote odd. The immunity challenge was so scary though. I'm a swimmer and it still looked so scary.

Strange I never really noticed (purple) Brenda until this week when she won immunity. Now that I have noticed her, I think she has been edited to be "flying under the radar". I can see her making it to the finals. Cochran seems to be doing just fine, too, strategically. Malcolm appears to have all the boys worshiping him. Which makes him a huge target for the rest. His game this week should be filed under "bizarre". Reynold is such a pawn.

i think ohio is the correct, i think that andrea and eddies conversation probably tipped eddie off to something, and he told malcolm that she was being shady and it might be him. and then andrea got worried as well, and didnt want the idol to be used so they switched the vote last minute to micheal.

but yes if that convo never happened, omg that would have been so good, where he gets reynold to use the idol on him, when he has one in pocket and they send andrea home, although i really like andrea she has stepped up so much from her previous season, but i see her leaving right before finals because she is such a huge threat if she keeps playing the way she does.

I wouldn't be surprised if something like this went down and we didn't see it. Certainly the way things played out at Tribal didn't make complete sense and contestants have often revealed in post-show interviews that crucial strategic and narrative threads were omitted. It's one of the reasons I prefer Big Brother. At least with the live feeds, we can see exactly how something develops, not just the parts production decides to show us.

To be honest, most of the voted off castaways have said that Brenda didn't do much or say much on the island hence her invisible edit.

She didn't really connect or bond with anybody out there.
