Re: Can gay and straight men be friends?

No,
if they cannot suck each others cocks, they cannot be friends.

Re: Why is the gay community not accepting of alternative lifestyles/personalities?

Taralen, are you speaking from experience or did you just imagined all the intolerances?

A few months ago, myself and 2 other guys flew on a business trip. When we got there, we got a rental car and I drove us to our hotel, which was about 45 minutes from the airport.

The other 2 guys from my office are married straight masculine guys in their 40s. One of them had a full beard. I connected my phone to blutooth and half jokingly put on Britney Spears and Lady Gaga. To my surprise, those two guys started singing along the Britney Spears and Lady Gaga songs I put on. Word for word.

May be they knew I was playing around with them or may be they genuinely liked those songs. The fact that they could sing along word for word says a lot.

I'm very sorry that this is how you feel. But in my experience, and yes honest to god real life experience, there is no problem whether you are out or not.

I think that wasn't a fair assessment.

Britney Spears is quite popular and most of her records go number one the charts.

She's like a mix of pop, dance, R&B, electro. She's done it all. She has fans of all backgrounds. Myself being a gay black man.

Ordinarily I like R&B/Hip-Hop and jazz and soul and house music. I love female R&B and soul singers from the 60s to even now. Is that common in the gay male community, no it's not. But it's still a feminine music taste though.

So it was possibly just a pouplar song. Anything by Britney Spears, Katy Perry, Lady Gaga etc. are just very popular songs that you don't need to be gay.

Now if you played some Indigo Girls or Scissor Sisters or shit like that, and they knew all the words, then yes that's very suspect. As their fanbase is primarily queer.

I just feel the queer male community is very judgmental to things that are different. I would love to be proven wrong, but alas. These are my experiences from personal use as well.

Re: Why is the gay community not accepting of alternative lifestyles/personalities?

Punished? Really?

There is also a huge difference between going into a leather bar in order to immerse yourself in it and arriving like something out of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert and trying to wreck their vibe.

But I have to say that I've seen over the top drag queens in a leather bar camping it up and no one gave a shit.

Problem is, I'm not talking about a drag queen.

Those are not only exceptions which are not the rule, but most drag queens are there as actors and entertainers. Whether a guy is fem or masc, gay guys love a drag queen for the comedy and entertainment aspect, as it's apart of gay culture.

I'm talking about ordinary fem guys, twinks, or average fem guys, who get shunned and reject in these types of venues.

Re: Do you believe there is tension between masculine and feminine gay guys?

Between masculine and feminine gay guys? Generally, no.
However, between masculine bisexual guys and feminine gay guys, yes, I do believe there is a very unhappy tension. It´s sad to say that, but I saw many masculine bisexual guys dissing feminine gay guys because they didn´t show a manly image. It´s shocking to see how people who don´t like to be judged have a so judgemental attitude.

As I as noted, I'm a somewhat fem guy. And I find the only guys who flirt at me are bi guys. Don't know why, maybe they don't see me a threat.

Re: Why is the gay community not accepting of alternative lifestyles/personalities?

I think the one being full of indignation here is you, perhaps you are not as accepting as you think you are?

Re: Why is the gay community not accepting of alternative lifestyles/personalities?

There's a difference between "not being into" or "not wanting to date" and "not accepting", me thinks. A lot of gay guys don't want to screw me, date me, or even hang out with me, but I don't think that means they're not accepting of me. They just don't have any interest in what I have to offer.

Re: Can gay and straight men be friends?

Among my friends are a former NFL linebacker, a few (female) burlesque dancers, prototypical skinny rock musicians, and a three-foot tall woman confined to a wheelchair. I've got plenty of straight friends, and I've never once thought about having sex with them. I don't view every male as a potential fuck, and judge them worthless if they either don't measure up or won't let me stick my dick in them.

That does leave the theory that every straight friend I have (and every gay friend has) isn't actually straight, but a gay in denial. In that case, I supposed I'm slacking on my duty to fuck them out of the closet.

Re: Do you believe there is tension between masculine and feminine gay guys?

There's tension when you look for it. Every thread, every post, every letter you type is clouds and doom and gloom and misery and this world will supply you with an endless arsenal of rhetorical questions, polls and inquisitions to support your belief that happiness has never existed and the universe is a cold, loveless place. I felt like that for maybe three minutes during my teenagers years but then I just stopped being stupid and it kinda fixed itself.

Re: Can gay and straight men be friends?

No, because it's 1947 and homosexuality is still a taboo. Maybe in the year 2018 the only people who will still think this is a problem are angst-ridden self-victimizers who fail to see that the rest of the world is moving forward and straight guys aren't as dense as you'd rightfully believe.

Re: Why is it hard for gay men to network?

I'm saying it's hard for black people to network by itself. It's hard for gay people to network by itself.

I'm [STRIKE]both[/STRIKE] socially inept, so I really think it's hard to network altogether.

Corrected for accuracy.

Re: Do you believe race/culture plays a factor in your gay lifestyle?

No I don't. Because it doesn't

That should apply to any immigrant to any country

When did multiculturalism become a four-letter word?

Re: Can gay and straight men be friends?

What year are you living in?🤔

Hey! You stole my answer......

Not only am I friends with straight guys...when I have been in a car with one or more of them and they look at tits and ass...I can't wait to find a guy whose ass I like and make a comment. They love it....

They even try to find me asses and guys and ask me what it is I don't like about this or that one....

I maintain that my making my sexuality a complete non issue allows them to make it a complete non issue as well. I have lived it...I know it works.

What the fuck? No there is not.

It's all the same damn thing.

There are not that many of us to think like that.

Sorry.

Straight men can do that wishy washy shit, gay men cannot. I'm sorry.

Well we are all different, and these are my experiences. Sorry.

Re: Can gay and straight men be friends?

Who the fuck are these straight guys y'all befriending? You need to tell them to give me a call. For real though.

I like how people are saying it's because of Homophobia and it's 2018.

Like the fuck that means shit. Queer people are still being murdered at astonishing rates still.

It's not homophobic for a straight man, to be uncomfortable/not want to befriend a gay guy, like it isn't heterophobic for a gay man to not befriend/be uncomfortable around straight men. It's okay.

But there is still I think a lot of frustrating aspects to this issue.

I need receipts for scientific research on these straight guys y'all seem to be comfortable with. For scientific data.

My straight friends wouldn't like you. They usually don't put up with whiny complainers.

Re: Do you believe race/culture plays a factor in your gay lifestyle?

I think when you join gay social media sites, if they see (in my case being that I'm a gay black guy) a black face, It's an automatic block, or they reject your friendship request.

I hate how queer men have that attitude and shit, I don't understand that crap at all.

It's just pure racism and stuff.
